BLAKE CALLED ME ALREADY! We just talked for 1/2 hour giving each other a brief summary of the past 13 years, but every time I'd partially tell him about something, he'd cut me off to ask even more! :rotfl: It's like we couldn't tell each other everything fast enough. SO......he wants to go out really soon, maybe this week! I told him I already have plans on Thursday but that Wed & Fri are open. He says he'll call me in a few days when he has a better handle on his workload and whether he'll have to work late either of those days. But he told me to definitely feel free to call him before he calls me back. :yay:

Sounds awesome!!    (by the way......many of us think 48 is young!!! As my mom would say...."I'd hate to be hanging since I was 48")

yep I have you down....have you been before? any recommendations on beaches? I have the "tour" in a word doc at work so I will post what I have so far tomorrow......

Yes I have been before. There was a public beach on the other side of the island from the lighthouse near the refinery that was good. Lots of fish for snorkeling but not deep so you could play or swim. No undertow either. Most the time we stayed at the beach at our resort. The wind blew sand on us so hard that we didn't go often. The chairs even had nets to cover them so I don't know if it will be like that in May or not. I wonder what public beach they suggest.

okay, GREAT news. I was sitting at Frank's bedside holding his hand telling him about the kids and family news (like I have been doing every day)...

AND HE WOKE UP!

His eyes opened and then they rolled back into his head but he got them straight and he looked at me and I started to cry. I was there alone....Don was busy. I said squeeze my hand once if you know who I am and he did. And then I said squeeze my hand the number of kids I have and he squeezed my hand 3 times. The nurse came in and she was also very happy.

He stayed awake for about 15 minutes and he watched me everything I did. He still has 4 tubes in his mouth and throat to breathe for him and feed him...so he can't talk.

I kept telling him he had to be still and not fight the nurse (she said he had tried to wake up twice earlier and pull tubes and kick his legs out of the hospital bed) they had tied his hands down. He kept shaking his head YES when I asked him if he understood what I was saying to him.

He faded off to sleep and I had to leave to get Vanessa from Downtown as she was returning from NYC. I really wanted to stay....but there is always tomorrow

Great news! :yay:

How about the John's watch the girls and we get crazy on the island!! Just kidding, but I do think we deserve a spa afternoon (or week), or a nap on deck 4 or SOMETHING!

LOL about going crazy on the island! I totally understand wanting a little girl time though. I went perusing the spa menu and the pedicure looks wonderful! That's my favorite spa treatment. Since my mom's birthday is right after the cruise, maybe I'll book that for she and I and we can have a little girl time! I know she loves pedicures too.

Oh Lisa what great news! I just read your post and got tears in my eyes!

Very true! I agree 100%. Keep your fingers crossed!

Very sweet about you and John! From what I remember, I doubt Blake would be inti Disney too much, but a lot could have changed in all these years, so I'll sure find out soon. His daughter is 11.

age, well.....for me now it doesn't matter....when Johnny is 100 and I am 90 trying to wheel him around Disney it might.

That's the best news I've heard all day Lisa. Glad you were there with him when he woke up, I'm sure it comforted him.

Lisa, that's GREAT NEWS! :yay: How wonderful that you were there when he woke up.....that must have been comforting for him to see you. Maybe next time you see him he'll have the tubes out!

He told me he's afraid he won't recognize me because he remembers the freckle faced brown haired girl. I told him that's still me! I didn't mention that I weigh 40 pounds more now than I did when he knew me. But I doubt that will be an issue because he used to tell me I needed to put on a few pounds.

So I'm thinking, since he told me to feel free to call him before he gets a chance to call me back, that I might call him tomorrow night and ask him for his e-mail address so I can send him a picture. I don't want to sound too eager, but he was definitely acting very eager, so I guess it wouldn't matter.

I don't like any of the 3 left in Survivor!
Don't mention any names please because I still haven't watched Thursday's episode.....too excited about my upcoming date! Will watch it in a few minutes. Since I haven't watched that one, I didn't watch the finale tonight. Will watch the finale tomorrow after Tyler's in bed.

Hi Deb,

I just read an article today about losing a loved one over the holidays. It said that the first time the holidays pass without that person is difficult, but the second time can be even worse. The first year is full of change and turmoil, and the second year, you have more time to think. I can tell you that I personally am feeling the loss of my mom more this year. She passed so close to Christmas (Dec 3) , and we went on that December cruise, that I don't think I had the ability to process it all.

This year is different, and I keep wondering if Holidays will ever be the same . . .

John, I so get ya. This is the 2nd Xmas without my dad. Last year sucked, badly. This year I'm trying to honor him, but so lonely at the same time. I still feel like it will never be the same again for anything. I want to be a good parent and wife and child for my kids, husband and mom, but sometimes it's just so hard when the person that knew you the best is gone. :sad1:

Since you'll be in mixed company, why don't you just call it the zippity doh da gang!!! It fits.

That's the ticket, you found the perfect name, thanks Deb..

We are the:

Good heavens these are works of art!!!! Such a wonderful job. Are these gifts or for sale? Remind us again how many of you make these. Thanks for sharing your work :thumbsup2

Ooooh, if I could afford it, I'd do the Baja 1000 Test Track in Cabo! But not for $325!!!

I gotta go see what this is, racing??? Car racing??? Oh my boys just might love me for being the OCD travel planner that I am....:lmao: :lmao:

Daniel and Annie both work at Chick-Fil-A!! Others have told you about the restrauant....but we love the fact that it is closed on Sunday...church and stuff.

They have 1340 stores in 37 states and DC. They are the second largest chicken quick service rest in the US. They have been around for 39 years! Sales are 2.2 BILLION dollars!!

I went to the store locator and within 50 miles of you there are 4 stores.

You should try it!! We love it!!

Lisa,

More California geography lessons for you are in order....50 miles, not so much...they are all Southern CA, I'm Northern CA. Think Golden Gate bridge (kind close, ~60 miles from me) and Disneyland...distance between the 2 places....off to google back in a second....370 miles 5.5 hours...

okay seriously I looked up Chick-a-fil, closest one isn't close enough, more than an hour away. No chicken sandwhich is that good. But when I see one in my travels I'd buy it in the future.

OK how long did it take from first date to knowing that you had met your lifemate? It took me and John 24 hours. How long did it take everyone else? Who is the shortest and who is the longest? Just curious!

I think I knew right away, within a few days, Paul hmmmmm 5 years or so :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: He has a hard time making any decissions...what's for lunch, oh boy that could take a few days....

okay, GREAT news. I was sitting at Frank's bedside holding his hand telling him about the kids and family news (like I have been doing every day)...

AND HE WOKE UP!

Lisa,

I'm so happy for you. This is such good news. More prayers your way for continued improvement for him.

We went to the $700 Store today....that's Costco during the holiday season :santa: a few sneaky presents and some extra wine to have on hand....uggghhhh one big bill.

We're all in for the night ready to watch Survivor. :scared1: DON'T SPOIL IT FOR US!!!!

Be yourself and do what comes natural. If you feel eager it's ok to let him know that. He's a real man, not some putz...so it won't scare him away. It'll compliment his eagerness too.

BTW, I'm sure he doesn't look the same either. Besides, you're looking good now so go for it!

one more quick note....Wilson got Alvin and the cmucks DS game at Costco and it has a totally fun Love Shack song game on it....I rocked!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I don't like any of the 3 left in Survivor!

Are you watching right now? I'm watching the Giants game and recording Survivor. There was 4 left when I last watched it.

Don't mention any names please because I still haven't watched Thursday's episode.....too excited about my upcoming date! Will watch it in a few minutes. Since I haven't watched that one, I didn't watch the finale tonight. Will watch the finale tomorrow after Tyler's in bed.

Mums the word....no names mentioned.

Nan, I like the zippity do dah DIS Gang!!!! It suites your group best!

You crack me up describing Paul making a decision....too funny.:rotfl:
