I am feeling worse today...very stuffed up - I hope this goes away soon! I think the only well one is Haley at the moment. I am hoping to use the weekend to rest and get better.

It was 74 this morning, I had to get a sweater and Samantha has pants on! She'll probably be hot later on.

:rotfl2: Isn't it funny how one's perspective on what feels cold varies with what we're used to? 74 is hot for us and definitely well above shorts weather. When temps are in the 60s we all still wear shorts around here! :lmao:

On a more serious note, I'm sorry you're feeling worse. Good thing the weekend is almost here so you can rest lots and recover.

Speaking of shorts, after being 90 degrees the day before yesterday, today it's not supposed to get above 50 degrees! So this is definitely the first day of the season that we won't be wearing shorts. Looks like similar temps all week, so summer must be truly over.

Oh man! Two DISers I've 'known' from years back are going to meet up! Sure wish I was there with you gals. Monica, watch out, I've seen Kathe after a cocktail :drinking1

.

Jackie - it'll be fun! We have breakfast at Boma's (with V, John, Samantha and Haley), then Kathe and I are doing Party for the Senses that night (She'll get to see ME after a few glasses of wine :rotfl: )

We (you & I) still need to figure out when we're going to meet when you come down later this year.

So who will be doing the Alaska cruise?

We would be interested in Alaska.

Are the rumours that it will be a special cruise, like the Panama ones, or will one of the ships do an Alaska season?

I just HAD to change my signature for for awhile . . .:thumbsup2

Whether or not we get in to DVC Amy made some reservations through work at some fleabag motel (actually Marriott Courtyards).

So, we will arrive late Thursday the 25th (missing game 2 in Cleveland if we make it to the Series) and leaving on Monday the 29th.

I have no idea who is meeting who where since this was kind of last minute, I know V will be there, and now I have to look up stuff and do some last minute planning.

If there is a group meet going on, and we are not horning in, let me know.

John1 - do you want to see if we can get you in w/ us (Kathe, V, John, Samantha, Haley, Monica) for breakfast at 1015am on the 27th at Boma's?

Let me know and I can see if I can get my ADR changed.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Don't worry too much Monica:rolleyes1 Yes, Jackie saw me after a cocktail(or two), it was a wonder she could see me at all after she was finished with those cocktails:lmao: :lmao: We'll miss you Jackie, wish you could make it too.
Kathe

I'm not worried at all!! As I wrote in my response to Jackie - YOU'll get to see ME after several glasses of wine!!!:lmao:

Bubba - thanks so much for the pm.....on my list for more research! I told my friend yesterday that I was starting the research for our 2009 trip and all she had in a response was "you crack me up".

The only thing honestly that I don't really like about cruising is that once you're booked and the flights purchased there really isn't anything else that needs to be planned....atleast not until the shore excursions come out. I LOVE to plan trips! The research is 1/2 the fun!

All of you that are under the weather (in 1 fashion or another) - here's to hoping you feel better SOON!

Holly - enjoy Cirque.....I've only seen La Nouba (here at DTD) but it's amazing! Look everywhere - there's usually stuff happening all over the stage (even look up).

V - you made me laugh when I read that you were wearing a sweater! I love the 70 degree days! What are you going to do Friday night?? I heard it's going to get into the 60s!

We (you & I) still need to figure out when we're going to meet when you come down later this year.

Yes, I've been waiting to see where we are staying and also meaning to ask about your work schedule (since we won't be there on the weekends). Any interest in doing MVMCP on Tuesday 12/4? I'll PM you this weekend with our itinerary.

....all caught up and time to hit the shower....

I just wanted to share some good news.

My brother has finally been told that his stem cell transplant worked. :woohoo: He was originally told they would know after 2-3 weeks and it has been 7 weeks, so he was pretty much convinced it hadn't taken.

He is still very seriously ill, from the damage caused both by the disease itself (myeloid fibrosis) and by the chemotherapy - from which his liver has suffered particularly badly. But at least he now knows it is worth continuing to fight through it all because hopefully he will eventually recover completely.

Thank you for all your prayers and pixie dust.

can I tell you all how much I love my new boss?

Yesterday I met with him, my old boss and a co-worker, who is a supervisor of the vacant position which I have taken on most of the duties while a replacement is being found.

He came to my office and shut the door this morning and I am thinking oh no! But he said he wanted to apologize for her behavior yesterday, that she was extremely unprofessional and quite rude. He said it was apparant she was not interested in the duties of the position she supervises and not willing to help either. He was appalled that when my old boss said thank you and how much he appreciates that I stepped up to help she didn't even say a word. These duties are her responsibilty and also when the auditors come in for rec's on all these accounts it is going to be up to her to explain them!

He also mentioned that he went to lunch with my old boss and the controller and he told them how he felt and that she has a long way to go as a supervisor.

:) Thanks new boss!

Look what I'm going to see tonight! http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/CirqueDuSoleil/en/showstickets/saltimbanco/intro/intro.htm

My friend Cindy (who I'm cruising with) won 2 free tickets to tonight's 7pm show. I've had such an awful week already, in all aspects of life, it will be good to go someplace where I can shut off my brain for a bit. :cloud9:

Aaaaw Holly, sorry your week has been bad in lots of ways. Have a great night away from your problems.

If I can just make it until showtime with my sanity intact. Tyler was suspended for 3 days starting today, so I'm not at work. Tomorrow and Friday his dad has to worry about it because those are his days. He'll be taking Tyler to work with him.

I set up an appointment with one of the mental health professionals Tyler's pediatrician recommended, but his dad told me he basically doesn't have coverage for that. So he wanted me to cancel that appointment and he'll take him to a free family counselling program his employer offers. That's great that his employer offers a free service, but I'm not sure what they offer is what Tyler needs. However, I'm sure the counsellor will tell him if he feels Tyler needs something else. So he'll probably set it up during a time I can't go....but I can send the info from school and Tyler's teachers with him.

I just found out a friend of Tyler's receives counseling from a social worker at school for emotional issues and trouble controlling himself. I had no idea the school offered this, so I'm going to check into it today after we have lunch.

That's only one problem I'm dealing with this week, but it's the biggest concern.
