Although you had a busy weekend, I'm sure it was nice to visit with your dad. Good luck on keeping the house clean.....if it's like mine, it will be a mess again in 2 days!

We had a wonderful evening yesterday. DD and DSIL came to our MH and we played SkipBo...DD won 2 games and I won 2 games. The boys did not do so good! The sun came out today so Dennis and I took our new collapsable bikes out for a 2 mile spin. We had a really good time, the bay was lovely that we rode by. Then we unhooked everything and headed home. Just before we got back home I got the call from my brother. His wife passed away shortly after 3 today. She was in the hospital for 4 months, they were not hopeful for the past week and Sat. night told him they did not think she would survive the night. This is so sad for him, they were completely devoted. Services will be sometime later this week.

Angie....my deepest sympathy for you and your family during this time.
I am in the area if there is anything I can do to help.

Utah. And this is the second snow....

It was 82 and sunny today and fall crispy in the evening here in NoCal. It was 71 at the coast when I left this morning. Sunny and beautiful all weekend.

It is supposed to get nasty, windy and rainy tomorrow night! Hard to beleive it is going to change that drastically.

Question....best time to visit in the fall....
Would you head to WDW for 2 weeks in October or the 1st 2 weeks of November?

We were only there 1x in the past for food and wine and loved it, so we really want to head down there again for that. We have done MNSSHP and had a blast but not sure we would do that again.

Any opinions would be great.

Go glad the TRIBE won, John. Now on to beat my second least favorite team!!! I almost hate the Red Sox as much as I hate the Yankees!

Jaide has a "friend" (must use that term lightly in regards to her) who is in competitive skating. Her mom is the total scary "skate mom" and her daughter (at age 11) is horrible to her family and thinks the world revolves around her. Her younger sister told Jaide the other day that her sister gets away with anything and has anything she wants but she gets in trouble and has all her toys taken away. It made me so sad when I heard that.
Sounds like you guys are very grounded and realistic in your approach to skating!

That is a good description of Kim, Steve, and Savannah. A great family, and wonderful people. Someday we want to watch Savannah in the Olympics!

Thanks Karen, but I just wish I could find a "before" pic to put next to it for comparison. Oh well...I remember when that shirt was skin tight and I couldn't wear it. Now it's just right! But when I saw that pic, I realized that I got smaller in places I'd rather not! Sorry....too much info! But all women know what I mean....the only bad part about losing weight!

Me too Karen - the Red Sox are another team of mercenaries. They took Manny from the Indians. I hate them maybe not quite as much as the Yankees, but close.

If not for some dear friends in Boston, it would be worse.

Looks like I will be going to some baseball games next week!

V, are you still sure Johnny cannot come on up to Ohio???

Thanks Deb, the Karma was good tonight, but I was nervous the WHOLE time. You cannot relax for ANY of that Yankees lineup, but our pitchers really shut them down this series.

Bundle them up and hid them and make them (have them made)into a quilt or throw for him for Christmas or his birthday. Oh wait, you are in FL and it doesn;'t get cold there, make it into a wall hanging.

I have a box of his special ones that I was hoping to be made into a t shirt quilt.

I love the idea about a quilt - maybe for my sons baby clothes I just can't give away but are no longer suitable to wear...

Anybody heard from AuntyBrat? I'm wondering how she is doing. Usually no news is good news, but after a while folks start to worry, you know?

Well, it's hard to pass up the F&WF, but early November can be a bit more pleasant weatherwise (every moment you have to get 'away' from September, the better in my opinion).

I just remembered I have Laura's home address (D'oh!). So I'm going to send off a note to her tomorrow.

Today was my 28th anniversary at work (did I post this already???)
I blew out of the office at 3PM, met Peg for a cocktail and nosh, then we went to her house and sat on the patio reading books all evening. Very nice!

Sailing out might be good for Villa Spa appointment - hanging out in the spa! Has anyone done a treatment there? Lisa

I did a couple of spa treatments on our last cruise. A pedicure (great) and a cellulite reduction...I noticed a change for the cruise..it was weird experience but I enjoyed the end results. Then I did a mini facial, massage and pampering. It was very relaxing. I really over indulged and felt it at the end when I got my bill!
The spa employees are not part of the cruise so remember that if you go...they really count on those tips to supplement their income. I can't wait to use the shipboard credit to have some more treatments!

We always used to go in early November when our DD was little, before it got too difficult to take her out of school too often. We loved the fall decorations and how quiet the parks were.

I'm not sure how long MNSSHP goes till, but it would be great to see that as well.
