I hope it works out for you. My friend in Georgia is now working from home. She was concerned at first but loves it, and saves so much travelling time.

It would save of travel time, gas $, wear & tear on the car, less of the office BS, PLUS - I wouldn't have to worry about how I look (but would still get dressed each day-can't stay in my jammies :lmao: ), and I could work on my scrapbooks in between calls!!!!

You are very lucky!! I wish I could have been close to my mother, but it just never happened. Being that her mother lived to over 90, I thought we still had time.

That must be very hard for you Noel...I read in a book once, those people in your life that hurt you the most are the ones that really love you the most because they are giving up their own karma in order to help you with yours....if you believe in karma, and I do, then this makes sense.

No matter what, you still had your grandmother....some of my best memories ever are dancing with my grandmother.

Let DCL or TA know that you want to pre pay the tips--it will then be added to your ressie.

That would be so cool....I might just do that! I'm planning on paying this cruise off this month....I could easily add them on now and not have to pay later. I like this idea.....more $ for DODs and Champagne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Marilyn -

I've had 2 different spa treatments on the ship - 1st time was a Swedish Massage (which I've had on land too several times....all I can say is AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH), and the last time I had the Hot Stone Massage. I enjoyed both, but I think I'll still with the Swedish. I can't do Deep Tissue as I bruise easily.

I've heard wonders about the Rainforest room on the ship - but I have a very sensitive nose (smells lead to migraines for me) so I've been scared to give this a try.

Hope this helps!

Bob of Lucy/lwilliam and Bob, told me great things about the Rainforest room too. Even I could do it and enjoy it without any pain. I think I'll have to book it for Oct.....OMG.....in three weeks from today at just about this time....I'll be rolling into Cocoa Beach checking into my hotel and looking to have a pedi done..........I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though I'm local - I'm still jealous!!

I've prepaid all my tips each time I've sailed....it's just like having OBC - no need to pay anything at the end! :yay:

I'm doing research on line for new desks....am hoping (and crossing my fingers) that I can end up working from home come December 3rd. Our office is splitting up, and there is a possibility that some of us can work from home. They will hopefully let us know soon.

I worked at home for a couple of years with my job...when I used to work! I loved it, but you have to be very diciplined....I found myself working all night long on many nights....I would do personal work during the days and get my job done at night.....it's easy to fall into that. If you stick to a clock schedule, you'll be fine.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We have set hours (830a-7p) when the phones are turned on, so no need to worry about that, but thanks for the tip!

I was never close to my mother - no real problems, just not close. I don't think my teenage years and her menopause all at the same time helped. Also she herself had had a difficult childhood, so I guess things just continued. She was a very strong woman and ruled the home and my father.

My mother's father was from the UK and remained a British citizen to the end of his life. He was fun loving, full of jokes and had a dry wit. My mother's mother was very Germanic, orderly, precise and strict. Both sides of my family have strong woman who ruled the roost.

Samantha and I had some difficulties as I was going through menopause whilst she was a teenager, but as time went by we have become much closer.

My son in law works from home. He just locks his office door and only emerges for lunch and at the end of his work day.

OK, that's a good thing then....I worked on an independent project and had no set timeschedule....I turned CNBC on the tv and started working along with the markets. When they opened, I started and when they closed, I could stop or continue whichever I chose. It worked better for me.

Thank you for your kind words. I have never heard of that about karma and hurt but it does make sense. I will remember that for the future and will pass it on to others.

Holly, I tried watching the BB recap show online and all I got was waiting while it said buffering then it would play a little then stop and say buffering then play a little...etc. How do you get it to play continuously?

Oh Deb, I'm the worst person to ask a computer question! :rotfl: All I know is my show just played for me. I think your problem might have something to do with connection speed, but I don't know enough about computers to really be able to help you. Sorry!

I think we're doing a Downtown Disney day meet....with some food at the Rain Forest Cafe.....plenty of time for you to make your party later. Unfortunately, probably not enough time for Marilyn to catch up with us....unless some of us linger around until later....which may happen considering Holly will be there and we'll have lots to talk about. HA HA HA

:rotfl2: Oh, with Tyler around, I don't get to do much sitting around gabbing. He gets bored VERY easily and long dinners aren't possible with him. ;) He wants to eat and get the heck out of Dodge to move onto his next adventure.

Now, if we could only prepay excursions too!!!!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
You know, that's one thing I loved about my Carnival cruise. Excursions had to be paid for at the time you booked them. Nice not to have to worry about it at the end! And they also had prepaid tips. Loved it! Didn't have to worry about setting aside extra money. :goodvibes

One has to be properly attired for answering the telephone you know!!!:lmao:

So, you can prepay, but would you get an enverlope just the same at the end of the cruise so you can add a little more if you wish?

That is a long day's work Monica.

I sure wish Tyler were here to see what's going on at our house today! I'm not particularly enjoying it though because there's a man drilling through the concrete foundation to the crawlspace below and my teeth vibrate the whole time he drills (because he's only about 20 feet from me), but the rest of it is pretty exciting! My lead water pipes are being replaced with copper, so there are 2 utility trucks in front of my house, a digger sort of construction truck digging up my whole yard along where the pipe runs, a dumptruck to put the dirt in, and the road is blocked with a "utility work ahead" sign. :scared1:
