My post op appt. went very well. My surgeon told me everything looks great and I should be able to go back to all my normal habits. Hooray!!!

She also told me I could pick up my gall stone from the hospital pathology department if I so desired. Yuck!!
Glad your visit went well and you are feeling so much better. So... did you pick up the gall stone? I think I would have wanted to take a peek at it , but not keep it:confused3
It has been a very busy week and haven't been on. I leave tomarrow for WDW. Pictures when I get back. :wizard: we get picked for a dream!
Have a wonderful trip and good luck, hope you receive a dream :wizard: I've got 3 1/2 weeks to go before my trip:cool1:
ok, so I return from lunch with a message from HR....I am still under consideration, that there were several other candidates under review.

I am happy I still have a chance but booo hooo!!

so now I just need lots of luck and a huge bucket of pixie dust!

V-glad to hear you are still in the running, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you:tink:

ok...I need honest, non mom opinions...even though she is an HR director.

She says I should send a follow up email.....to the two in the dept I interviewed with and CC HR.....

I drafted:
Dear X,

I would like to thank you for taking the time to meet with me last week to discuss the position of X. I am still very interested in this position and am convinced that my financial and accounting background equips me for the position.
(I say "position" way to much here)

After learning the job description I am confident I have the necessary skills to be an productive member of the department.

You both, along with X, put me at ease immediately and I feel we would have a great working relationship. I look forward to hearing from you soon about the position and again thank you for meeting with me.

any thoughts? Is this overkill?

I just have NO CLUE what I am up against. Quite frankly, I got the impression there were no other candidates. They also do not have my references.

Sorry to be sooooo flipped out about this...but, I REALLY want this job!

My two thoughts are

1. If the HR director suggested you send the e-mail, I would send it.

2. You need a comma....After learning the job description, I am confident I

Looks like everybody's busy tonight. I hope everybody's doing fun stuff! I think I'm off to take a nap. Catch you all tomorrow! :goodvibes

We don't really have a season as you do. Never really know when a new series will start. Sometimes we're several series behind you, although I don't think we're far behind with House.

I think we're only on Season 4. So probably not too far ahead.

But the date I'm most focused on is 1/30/08 -- full payment due. However, since this cruise is WAY cheaper for me than ones in the past, it's a small amount in comparison, so no worries! :goodvibes

I just know my invoice says 1/30 for the due date. I thought I remember reading something somewhere about it being due earlier than usual on the longer cruises. :confused3

90 days insead of 75 - of course there are so many repeaters almost everyone would probably pay by then to be able to make reservations on line at the 90 day mark.

Well, that's not fair! :confused3 Strange. I'll check into it later.

I checked my DCL confirmation my TA faxed to me. Date final is due is Feb 10 but since that is Sunday she told me I should make final payment no later than the 8th so I can book ressies on the 10th (Saturday at midnight EST).

I'm hopeful to have it paid off before then.

I'm going to be buying a few bits I have learned about on the Dis when we are over in Nov/Dec.

Airborne - can you tell me more about it?

Non drowsy Bonine - I am not sure if I will feel sick onboard or not, but think I might take this for the first day/night.

Downy Wrinkle Release - sounds good.

As others have posted....:thumbsup2 on all three. I took one dose of Bonine the morning of embarkation on each of my cruises and was able to eat my way across the Gulf stream! :rotfl2:

Started the Airborn the day before I got on the plan and took some EVERY morning till I got home. The times I've neglected to take them for the return plane trip, I've usually managed to end up with a cold a day or so later. It tastes like Tang to me too.

gosh how many posts per page anyway?

15. At least that's the default, I THINK you can change it, but I don't remember where or how (somewhere in your user cp).

OK....backing up a page to follow that link to the Castle story...then I'd better GO HOME soom...it's 7pm here!!!

I am the HR director for our company and this is how we would percieve it -

If no other written correspondance has occurred I would agree with the letter/email - two rounds of written thank you's however, is overkill. I would have suggested that thank you's to everyone after the interview as appropriate, not staggered over time. We would see it as an afterthought that you left the others out at the time of the first thank you. On the other hand, if you wrote to just one person before and you didn't include the reference to "everyone" then maybe it would be ok to address them now. Definately not a second letter to the same ones you have already contacted.

I understood the OP's mother who was an HR director suggested the letter, not the HR director where she actually interviewed.

:grouphug: I know you really want this. It is a fine line and I would hate to see you lose it by being too agressive. At the same time you are the only one that talked to these people so only you can mke a judgement as to how they may receive another contact from you at this point.

I hope I didn't pick the wrong time to be more active on this thread. I can always go back into lurking mode -lol

So the news of the day is that DD and DSIL and both DGKs will be moving to FL around the first of the New Year. I'm so sad about this. I love having them live down the block and rely on them quite a bit. DSILs grandparents are both elderly and sick. There is really no one else in the family able to help them. So Sandi and Joe are thinking of moving there and living with Joe's grandparents in their house to help them out. I'm soooooooo going to miss them. We'll see them everytime we go to FL which is at least 2 to 3 times a year....but it's not the same. I'm so sad.:sad1: :guilty: :sad1:

Deb:hug:
Life is constantly changing, isn't it? How generous of Sandi and Joe to consider relocating in order to help out his elderly grandparents. I know this would make you sad, but maybe you could fit in a few more visits to Florida;) Not the same as around the corner, I know.

Another endorsement for Airborne. I took it on both adoption trips to China and never so much as a cough while nearly everyone else in the group picked up coughs and other bugs.

Hello everyone!

I am back from Berlin and a skating competition (she did great!). I am off to CT on Sunday, but I am going to try to catch up here. I hope all is well with everyone!

We will adjust and when we do we'll find more time for us and that's not so bad. Then like you said, we'll have to take more trips and visit often and that's not so bad.

There's a good side to everything that happens. It will just take some getting used to, that's all.

Been so busy around here, I haven't caught even one season premiere yet!

Samantha and Serenity and Brian came home on Monday. It is way too quiet at my house, I can't believe we have a baby here! Serenity is still pretty sleepy but is waking some and looking around and stretching. She is being nursed by her mom, and yet is sleeping for 6 hours at night. She has already gained 4 oz since she came home 2 days ago. We had to take Brian to the airport tonight, he had to get back to Alberta to work:sad1: Samantha is very sad today, but he'll be back in 5 weeks to collect her and the baby.Thankfully, one of her relatives that was out of town and hadn't seen the baby yet came by and they have gone out for a little visit, so that will help to cheer her tonight, but tomorrow may be a very long day.

Holly....loved the Tyler Tooth Tale....it showed that before you could even react to him, he already adjusted to the whole thing and was fine with it. How quickly little ones can do that....it amazes me!

Noel.....sooooooooooooo happy it went well with the follow up. We're both getting better everyday.....in more ways than one, I say!!!!!!!!!

:lmao: :goodvibes :lmao:

Thankfully she has the baby to keep her busy....and maybe you could find something that you both like to do to keep you busy while the baby sleeps. Maybe scrapbooking.....Grandma could do Serenity's while Samantha could do one for her and Brian.

V....follow your gut and whatever will be will be....I will send you more pixie dust and prayers that you get what you want.

Welcome back:) Glad the competition went well. I'm finding it harder and harder to catch up here, everyone has been very very chatty lately;) Do you think it has to do with the change in season...we are all gravitating back indoors since summer is almost gone? (I say almost because we are having a beautiful Sept here, much more like summer than early fall)

Kathe

Well I DID IT...I booked us on the Sept 27 '08 double dip with our friends from our first cruise. We just realized that in the next 11 months we will be cruising three times....a 4 night, a 15 night and a 7 night. After 15 nights, I won't want to get off on the 7 night.

Love this idea, but unfortunately, Grandma has to work all day:rolleyes:
