Nan,

We will keep hoping for the best for your mom . . .

It is so hard as our parents age. I took my dad for some tests last week, and the doctor's office called and tried to explain to him that the cells are pre-cancerous, and should be watched. You may have well been speaking Chinese to him, he told them to call me and explain it so that I could explain it to him. Then he immediately called me to tell me they would be calling, and while I am on with him, they are trying to call me. You also cannot put your 85 year old father on hold and expect him to understand . . .

So when I call back I get the nurse's voicemail, and in between her getting back to me (we are talking about 45 minutes here) my dad calls me back 3 times to ask me if I have heard anything yet.

Since the Indians played a day game, he also wanted to know each time he called if I knew the Indians had won. Dad's mind has not been quite the same since mom passed away last December

YEA! I got a good report today...we are finally making some progress....they cultured it and the infection is gone and the wound area is getting smaller and healing. They said they're going to try to have me in the pool by the time I do my Oct cruise. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:  [/COLOR]

I am definitely on the mend!!

Great to hear you are both on the mend!!

OK, so did I spook everybody with all the camera talk? :confused3

I guess I'm the only one on now....

Sitting here typing/playing/DISing during the commercials....watching the Grey's Anatomy episode that is leading up to the new show with Addison (which starts next Wednesday).

Does anyone know anything about digital cameras?? I'm looking to buy a new one and am considering the Nikon D40 or the Pentax K100D and was hoping to get some opinions. Anyone?

We've been thinking of the Nikon D40 - everyone my scrapbooking board that has one loves it!

Nope, I'm planning to get an SLR before the cruise - right now just have point and shoot Kodak Easy Share. It takes great pictures if there is no motion and the light is perfect. I want to be able to take night and action shots.

Camera talk went way over my head. ;) But I have to share a funny moment from today. After I picked Tyler up from school we went to the mall. As we approached Victoria Secret, Tyler said, "Oh........my........gosh! Mom, those girls are in their underwear!" There were about 4 underwear clad manequins in the display window. He stared at all of them as we walked by, eyes glued the whole time, and just after we passed he said very quietly, "Pretty girls!" :lmao: TOO funny!

And by the way, we had our first Auntie Annie's experience today at the mall too. I wanted to try the pretzel dog, but was told it would be 10 minutes before they had more. We didn't have time to wait, so I had a jalepeno pretzel and Tyler had pretzel sticks. Yummy!

John - thanks for those links.....have been reading them. Had not considered the Canon (no reason why), so will definately look into that one too. I have small hands, so this may end up being the best (if what the reviews state are true).

Am about 2/3rds of the way done w/ the decorating of my Fish Extender. A friend of mine knows someone who embroiders, so she is asking the other person if they would be willing to embroider my DIS name on there (so noone will walk off with it).

Been playing w/ some ideas for my gift too....all I can say is I'm sooooo glad that we have 33 more weeks to work on that!:rotfl:

I was just going to say that I am here Monica.

My day went GREAT because the Indians WON AGAIN!

Swept the Tigers!

Magic number down to THREE, and we may get to see them clinch the pennant this weekend!

I know quite a bit about digital cameras Monica, but only the ones I have, and I always have bought Canon for still Cameras. I have a Digital Rebel XT that I love, and a digital elph for a pocket camera. No experience with other brands.

DrHug is a Canon lover also.

I think the reviews are accurate, but my hands are not small, and I do just fine. I posted this before, but here is a link to some of my show photos taken with my Digital Rebel XT on my .Mac page from our cruise. This is with just the lens that came with the camera, but I did show up early to get a close seat. No flash, and 1600 ISO

Dennis is just a plain old "Lover"

I'm off to bed.....glad tomorrow's Thursday!

Have a great night everyone!

Bedtime for me too.

Good night everyone, and good morning to those showing up later!

I'll be there with my Mickey Ears on! Just let me know the details!
(I am available for more than 1 meet too!)

YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Angie wishes she could! But, alas, :sad2: work interferes with my life!

So sorry Angie.......

Marilyn did say a couple pages back that she can't that day, but I hope everybody else can! Somewhere kid-friendly and not too expensive. :goodvibes

Maybe we could do Downtown Disney....the kids can play with the legos and we can chat and then maybe go for a meal at the Rainforest Cafe. Just one thought.:rolleyes1 :confused3 :rolleyes1

Goodnight! I'm out of here too. Have to watch the news and see if there's any info on what was going on near Tyler's school today. The school had a lockdown this afternoon due to police activity in front of the school, according to a letter from the principal I found in Tyler's backpack. Tyler told me all about the event when I picked him up.

I'm so glad to hear the good news from both Noel and Deb. It's about time some of us on this board has good news! Maybe the two of you will set a trend for us. :thumbsup2

YES....we have had a bit of good news for a change and hopefully it will be a new trend for everyone!
 :woohoo:

Works for me! Tyler loves Lego Land and Rainforest and so does Bethany. :thumbsup2 But whatever the majority decides on is fine with us. Since we'll be with Heather & her family, I guess we go wherever they do! :rotfl:

Noel-Keep letting the family wait on you hand and foot....you deserve it!

Deb-glad the wound center meet went well. Keep up the good work!

Nan-prayers and PD, as well as tons of :grouphug: s to you, your Mom and your family. Know that we are thinking about you here, even when you can't check in.

Tina-thanks so much for checking in with us. Continued prayers and PD to you too.

Prayers and PD to Linda too (I think it was Linda)....hope her treatments are going well too.

Hope I didn't miss anyone...didn't mean to.

 :grouphug: s and pixiedust: to everyone!

Monica, thank you and I couldn't agree more for everyone else....I think you meant Laura/AuntieBrat....but she knows what you meant.

love, hugs, prayers and pixie dust to everyone and let's start a new healing trend!:wizard: :cloud9: :wizard:
