probably because I have been quite stressed lately, I am turning to food....and my comfort foods are all bad for you and very fattening.
Me too! I've done tons of comfort eating for about a week and have probably gained 5 pounds this week!

Thanks everybody for the advice today (again)! :goodvibes After a bunch of phone calls today by Tyler's dad, he called me and told me that he's having a difficult time finding another neuropsychologist in our area. But the insurance company told him that if the referral form is filled out they'll consider the doc as if she were in the network. SO that's great news! They'll only cover 50% after the deductible is met, but that's better than nothing! The bad part is that's only after the $2,500 deductible, so we still have to come up with the money, plus since it's the end of the year, we'll have to pay that deductible all over again soon. However, the money part doesn't matter because I just can't see making Tyler wait 3 more months just for the start of a new year.

I managed to find a way to get the money, so that part is fine, now I just have to get him to sign the consent and come to the initial appointment. HOWEVER, Tyler's stepmom just e-mailed me that she thinks it's not very smart to spend that money when we'll just have to pay it again starting in January and why pay $5,000 when we could pay $2,500 by waiting until the start of the year. Obviously, I'm sure you all will guess that I chose to ignore and delete that e-mail. :headache:

Taking a break from it tonight by going with a friend to the comedy club for LOTS of laughs! :yay:

home again....all went fine today. Actually everyone seemed to keep to themselves which is fine with me! Picture day went smoothly I heard...although there was mention of why Samantha didn't have a princess dress.

Holly, have fun and relax a bit!
I will, thanks! I can always count on the comedy club to make me forget my troubles for a bit. :thumbsup2 I'd love to have a drink there too, but I'm driving so my friend can leave her car home for her husband & kids in case they need it. I suppose just one drink wouldn't hurt! :woohoo:

Tyler's going to be ONE CRANKY kid tomorrow! His EEG is tomorrow morning at 9 and they want him sleep deprived, so his pediatrician wants him to try to stay up 24 hours. She admits that's difficult for his age, so she said no more than 4 hours of sleep. As much as I miss him those 2 days I don't get to see him, I'm really grateful I don't have to be with him tomorrow! :rotfl: Bad mom, I know! :lmao:

Just ate a bag of potato chips. My comfort food! ;) Nothing else though because I know I'll eat some junky food at the show. Probably breadsticks & sauce. Yum! Or maybe a piece of pizza. Or both! :yay:

Uggghhh! My mom needs to keep up with the times. She doesn't have voice mail or even an answering machine. No cell phone either. The only reason she has a computer is so she could practice at home to prepare herself for the switch to computers at work a few years ago. Of course she has dial-up internet too! :rotfl: So getting a hold of her is quite difficult. She won't have time to talk while she's at work, so I guess I'd better e-mail her. She doesn't know any of the problems going on with Tyler because I didn't want her to say, "See? I told you from the beginning there's something wrong with that monster." :sad2: Yes, that's truly something she'd say. She's truly the exact opposite type of mother than I am, lucky for Tyler! ;)

So, I'm off to tell her what's going on. :scared:

She sounds like my mom!

Call your insurance company. Some companies/policies allow that if the deductible and related expenses are in the 4th quarter of the year they willl carry it over the next year without you having to re-meet the deductible if it is all part of the same illness/treatment. The worse that can happen is that they tell you the policy does not offer that feature - the best is not having to re-meet the deductible and either way you are only out a few minutes of your time to call and ask.

Good luck

Sandy

ok, I know, I am not supposed to be on Ebay, but I did win the Buzz Lightyear bows....and for less than what the seller was willing to make and sell them to me for.

update on the potty training. Haley is pretty much finished! She is doing fantastic!!! So I don't think there will be any worries for the club!

what is everyone sleeping or something?

I watched The Wicker Man in the middle of the night last night, pretty different than what I was expecting. Sure paints women in a whole new light!

I'm going to go get ready for bed. We have a crack of dawn flight to Baton Rouge tomorrow. I just hope that our players don't come back in body bags! I hope everyone has a good weekend!

Update on my mom, the oncologist was primarily worried about mom's heart issue and we are now going back to the cardioloist tomorrow and then primary care doc on Friday. Mom also had a fall on Monday. This is the big worry. If she is put on blood thinners and she has a fall it could be bad news.

We will address after cancer drugs in the next few weeks. Her cancer was estrogen postive (that isn't good) so he does advise some kind of drug (the names escape me) first we have to do bone dentsity tests as the side effects are osteoporosis (which she allready suffers from)

Other than all that she is doing ok. We had a nice lunch together and I can just ask for more of those times to enjoy.

We are out the door shortly for a boy scout pack meeting. Paul is working late, at a board meeting in SF. He has had some late nights for the past few days so the kids and I are roughing it without him.

Thanks Nan! Yes they were Monarchs. You won't believe what happened to me at work today! I work about 5 or 6 miles away from where we had the B.B.Q on Saturday, basically on the other side of town in Santa Barbara. I was looking out the big wearhouse type door when what do i see? A Monarch flutterbye! I stepped outside in time to watch it fly down the long driveway we have at work , thinking to myself " No it couldn't be , could it?" As I turned to go back inside here come about a dozen more over the next few minutes or so ! Gave me the chills! I think V's Mom was just letting me know that shes allright.:hippie:

I love your words. I think it is a great way to remember someone, and I am one of those that believes our lost loves in our lives come to comfort us until we are "ready" to say goodbye.

Just recently I think I had my last dream with my dad in it. I think he came to me as long as I needed him too. I'm thru the first part of my grief over his loss in Jan '06, I have found some peace recently with my travels to China.

I hope Sandi will continue to show you her love with her visits to you & V.

Glad you mentioned this as it was also what I was thinking. Sometimes there are resources for us that we don't know exsist. ASK ASK ASK!!! Every person you talk with Holly ask and tell them your story. You never know who can help you.

Also ask the doctor if they will accept "contracted rates" for their service. Explain your situtation that you are a student and trying to make it all work.

Lastly, forever the bean counter....It is important to remember that each time Tyler is called out of school you have to watch him rather than be at work. That is a cost also. Many people don't see that as tanigble because maybe they have sick leave or PTO, but it really is a cost. Perhaps that is also something that you can remind your ex about. I bet if he needs to continue to take time off from work this will be a big problem.

Good Luck we're praying for ya!

Nan, I hope everything with your mom works out.

thanks. I'm really trying to be a half full glass right now and see this time with her as whipped cream and a cherry on top.

I've read alot of what you all consider to be your mottos and I've been asking myself if I've been living what I've always thought mine to be...

Your glass can be half empty or half full it's all how you look at it. I like mine half full.

I'm lucky enough to have had parents that loved me for all I was worth and me to have loved them that way too. I have good childhood memories, good young adult memories and great "old" adult memories with them. Not everyone has that and we aren't in control of what we get. Knowing that mine were and are good I need to be grateful and thankful for all the time and love we have shared. And savior the moments we share now.

Nan - please know we are thinking of you and your family and praying everything turns out ok!
