Thank you, Vanessa. I'll mail the check!:lmao:

I'll send you a towel instead!

Too amped up after the game to go immediately to bed, so now that I am caught up, maybe I can go to sleep, so that I can get up FIVE hours later.

Yes, it is after 1:00 am here in Ohio!

Good night all!

Baseball Dreams!

Hi Nan! Thanks again for the butterfly tip! The guests were just totally blown away by the whole LIVE butterfly in a box thing! My Mom is still trying to figure the whole thing out:rotfl2: She just cant figure out how they get them in there first of all, let alone keep them alive! V will post some more pictures if you would like to see them. Don't want to make you cry anymore tho! OOPS almost forgot....AARRRGH Fine pirate ye be! Extra grog fer ye it be!(32000!)

I'm happy to see more flutterbyes (that's what Molly and I call them)
The tears for Sandi were good. I know in my heart that it was a good thing for her and for you and V too. Isn't the whole concept a great one. I'm so glad they worked well for you that day too :goodvibes

more to drink, rummmmmmmmm yummmmmmm!

Nan, dont know if you can answer this or not, but some people asked me if I knew what the next "step" was for these flutterbyes? Do they try to join the others that migrate naturaly, do they just die, what? I couldnt answer them:confused3 Also I was wondering how they raise them? Where could they possibly get enough catapillers to supply all their orders? And do they have big cages for when they metamorphasize into flutterbyes?? Where do they get the eggs that turn into catapillers?

ok girl scout leader and mom of elementary children expert info (not) here I go, from what I remember....

If these were Monarchs they do try to join the migration, which in your case would be moving south to Michoacán, Mexico. Not all of them make it to their ancestral home, some land and lay eggs and die, those babies continue that path and cycle.

It is very easy to raise them, well we had an easy time raising painted ladies (not monarchs) we did it! I can now see how it makes sense to have this be a business. I suspect they have many cycles in processes and if they are ready to ship they pull from the inventory of that date, if they don't have orders to fill I assume they release them in the wild, or save some to produce the next cycle.

The lifecycle is short for painted ladies, I think 30-45 days.

the net that we had was about 2-3 feet tall 2 fee wide. We kept it in the house, Molly's room actually.

It was a great process to watch.

If you are interested you can order the kits online and do it at home yourselves. It was a very calming process to watch and joyful to release them when mature. We had all but one grow from the catepillars to butterfly and they laid eggs before we released, but we didn't have the right leaves for them to eat to survive.

If someone else knows more here, please correct or add to this. It was a few years ago we had this whole process in our house and lives.

That picture I just posted also reminded of the folks that were at the next table, FirstTimeCruiser. Did they cancel? No word from momoftwoprincesses either, or gaylean.:confused3

I haven't heard from Lori (mom of 2 princesses) in a while but Gaylean and I pm'd each other not long ago and we're going to try to get together when our kids our out of school or have half days. They don't live too far from us. I'm not sure about FirstTimeCruiser.

So I decided that I was going to get on the scale this morning and not wait until Nov 1st....coz I'll be off the cruise and at WDW....don't want to weigh in then. This morning I weighed in 9 less lbs. in almost two weeks. Good! diettogo is working well. Of course, I'll be way off diettogo food while on the cruise and vaca......so here's to starting over when I get back home.

Wow....I have lost 25lbs in 6 weeks. That's a diet I can do!

:cutie: :cutie: :cutie:

WOOHOO, Deb!! :woohoo: So proud of you! Keep up the good work!

Still catching up, this one is from Friday!

Karen

What a busy night, and what amazing stories. Thanks to those who shared.

Things just don't change! My DGS can't touch a girl now because they have cooties! Brings back memories.

'Cooties'? I could try guessing, but it would be better to really know!!:rotfl:

Certainly! All are welcome. :yay: :woohoo: I can't even count how many we have "adopted" over the years. I just have this "thing" that no one can be alone on Thanksgiving (I was alone the Thanksgiving that I was 16), so we drag home whomever we know that is without family in the area for the day. Lots of :grouphug: for everyone.

That is wonderful Angie. You're obviously a very giving person.

you know, I really like the DIS....I belong to a baby board...since first beginning trying to conceive which was in like 2000 - great group of gals and many are members here as well. But I really have found such fantastic people ....sometimes I truly can't believe what friendships I have formed. I thank you all for listening to be ramble, vent, and all the other V'ism's I am sure I have. I have a feeling this is going to truly be the cruise of a lifetime!

I've never 'met' such a group of people like you all before. Can't wait for this cruise.

V...you're welcome to ask, I don't consider it being nosey....just friendly! My legs are so much better....the edema is down, the left leg is completely gone and the right leg only has 1/2 the size that it started at left to go. I'm feeling great with my new diet that works. I'm much more mobile again.

Angel is being trained and listening for a change. She's wearing a collar that lets her out the doggy door without letting the cat out. No accidents in the house anymore. She also has a shock collar to use when necessary and we've only had to put it on her twice and use it. Now we put it on her and she behaves and we don't use it. She has learned to stop jumping and she has learned to listen. Sandi and the boys did a lot of work with her and it shows.

I wear fleece pants around the house without exposing any bare leg to her just to be safe, but I haven't really needed it. She is learning to behave properly. Thank goodness!

V....thank you for asking!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Great news about the legs Deb. Also Angel is being a good girl too.:)

wow - way to spill out my life story on the internet!

Your history is what has moulded you and you have come out a wonderful woman.

She is choosing to be upset. You must choose what is best for your and the majority of your family. There comes a point in all of our lives when we just have to accept that we can't change the person. If she will make the holiday unpleasant unless it is her way, you may have to choose to have the holiday without her.

I agree. Sometimes we adults behave like 2 year olds only worse.

How about this one?

USING INFLATED BALLOONS TO MAKE MOLDED CHOCOLATE BOWLS

1. SEE TIPS: For this procedure, you'll need balloons, the smaller and rounder the better. And, tempered chocolate is essential. Keep chocolate in temper or warm. And the chocolate has to be thick enough around the balloon to keep its shape when you pop the balloon.

2. Before you begin the tempering process, you'll need to blow up a number of small balloons to about the size of coffee cup.

3. Holding where the balloon closes, dip balloon's bottom into the chocolate to coat it. You can also marbleize the chocolate before dipping.

4. Place the balloon on a lined cookie sheet holding it at the top so the excess chocolate starts to settle to create a bottom. The balloon will eventually stand on its own. Repeat the process for as many cups as you'd like to make. Then place the pan into the refrigerator for 5 to 8 minutes. When you remove the pan from the refrigerator, the chocolate surrounding the balloons should be hard.

5. Prick the balloon with a pin to deflate it. Carefully remove from the chocolate cup. If the room is warm, store in the refrigerator before filling.

6. When you're done, you can fill the cups with fruit (berries work well) and whipped cream, chocolate ganache mousse, cold pudding or ice cream.

Yum!:thumbsup2 :lmao:

Oh! Here's a good thing! After church Sunday, since Tyler was looking especially handsome in his blue dress shirt and tie, I decided we should head to Walmart and have our pictures taken. When we were in Tennessee, I was shocked to realize that the picture on my brother's fridge of Tyler and I when he was 1 1/2 was the last time we'd had our pictures done together! I absolutely LOVE the pics we just did on Sunday! I usually only buy the $6.99 package deal because we just don't need a ton of pictures around, but went crazy this time! Family & friends will be getting a couple different pics in their Christmas cards this year. We get to pick them up from Walmart 11/2 and I can hardly wait!

What a lovely idea. Looking forward to seeing you both.

You know you're stressed out when you look forward to going to work to escape reality temporarily. :sad2:

Yep, my Dennis  broke down at DSIL's memorial and said to me "I can't even imagine if that were you." Speaking of....I have to call my brother tonight as it is his birthday. Saturday would have been his wife's birthday and they always shared their birthdays so I know this will be a really hard day for him. He did work though to keep his mind busy. :sad1: :sad2:

A very hard time for your brother. How lovely of you to think of calling him.

Still 22 pages behind... but I have to head to bed!

Deb, lot's of  and pixiedust: for the auction on your moms house.

Angie, glad you could be there for your brother in this difficult time. Lots of  to you as well.

Holly, hope today went well with the counselingfor Tyler. You probably posted about this, but I have not caught up that far.

Bubba and Venetia, so glad that the memorial went beautifully! The Butterfly release really sounded so peaceful.

Good morning, Marilyn! Hope you have a lovely day!

More catching up tomorrow, if time. I have two events at the shop this week, so may fall farther behind!

Karen

Especially STEAK!!! :rotfl2:

I think steak sales have doubled at my grocery since I have meet V...I read tht is what you are making for dinner and I want it.

Last night I cut it up and made shiskabob (sp?) on the grill....so yummy!!

OH YEAH! :thumbsup2 What's funny is that I think he seems to forget that I do work with NINE lawyers every day! :rotfl2: Of course they're all always happy to lend a helping hand whenever they can. One of those guys does family law and he's a real go-getter, so I know he'd help me out. I've mentioned things in the past to him and he'd be happy to take him to court.

Why not just have a letter sent to your ex...that would really start WW111 (or at least remind him you work for a family lawyer......just mix it in with the conversation!!)

Just got home . . .

WHAT a ballgame!

Indians WIN 4-2! Up in the series 2-1!

Fans gone wild!

My buddy who went with me said it best - Jacob's Field looked like a giant snow globe with all the towels waving!

It was a BLAST!

GO TRIBE!
Knock out the knuckleballer tomorrow!

Congrats...I watched the whole game......after getting back from home. I really don't care who wins (I like both teams) (Sorry John) as long as the Yankees don't win!! I guess we find out what happens to Joe Tori today....

good morning....I feel worse today! I think I am going to head over to our health nurse and see what she says.

Great game last night....let's see how they do tonight.

I woke up late, luckily John is off so he is going to take the girls to school. He let them sleep in. I had to drive his car, my old car....my convertible Mustang.

HE NEEDS A NEW CAR....this car is shot, the engine is fine but oh my --- the top waves like a flag down the road. It's horrible. But it gets you from point A to B.

Good Morning!

6:30 (I slept in a 1/2 hour) came around MUCH too early!

V - put the TOP DOWN! After all, it is 70 degrees!

How about those Rockies? Swept the Dbacks, and have now won 21/22 games? How unconscious are they playing? I hope we get to the Series and get to play them - it would be a fun series - and I am glad they have to now take 8 days off to cool off that hot streak!

Oh man, what a hard two days for him and both so close to her passing. Lots of hugs for your brother.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I called big bro last night and it sounds like he is doing fairly well. His DD and DSIL had taken him and their kids to dinner and a movie for his BD. They were just dropping off the sweet GF of his GS when I called. He sounded like he had enjoyed himself. He did not go to work as he planned, he had too much to take care of. He said he will have to take off today also as he did not get everything done. Death has so many details that has to be attended to. Several in this group are very aware of that! :grouphug:

John1, I am having such fun knowing you are having so much fun with this! Congrats again to your team. GO TRIBE!!

John1, I am having such fun knowing you are having so much fun with this! Congrats again to your team. GO TRIBE!!

I have to tell you guys something - this is probably highly unusual . . .

I do not drink even ONE beer at the games - for four reasons:

1. I want to enjoy the game, and alcohol dulls the senses - not something I want to do at a game like this.

2. I do not want to leave my seat for the whole game, and I don't - all the people drinking beers around me were up and down, up and down running to the bathroom.

3. Beers are $7 each!:scared1:

4. I want to get home safely and alive.

My buddy Dan who went with me last night is the same way, which makes it great to go to a game with him. I don't really care that the people around me do - I'm not like that - but I was thinking last night how unusual the two of us must seem to everyone around us other than the people with little kids.

The older I get, the more I appreciate a good beer or a drink with a good meal - or with friends when all that is going on is talk and I have nothing I have to pay attention to. At a sporting event, it really detracts for me.

Thanks again Angie - I keep thinking of all you guys, and wish you could experience what a fun ride this truly is. It is such a blast.

Last night as we were walking up steps to our seats - who did we pass walking down the steps? The owner, Larry Dolan and his wife. Bet the Yankees fans don't see Steinbrenner like that!
