I am the only one up and probably the most tired and sick! I have to watch the game though, John1 I am sure you are watching. Did you see that catch by Manny?

I haven't "met" him but I see him on my lunch hour all the time. Stephan King has a house here on Casey Key (I think) but he loves the same little deli we all do and he is here often --- but I know better than to ask for an autograph. I don't want to be the next Carrie!
ETA: the whole King thing - because he has been shown repeatedly at the game!

I am stil up - now watching the dbacks. I was at the HS football game by myself as it was really cold and Amy and Sophia did not feel like it (40's V). Listened to the awful game there and then came home and watched the end. We lost our Football game too.

I really don't HATE the Red Sox though. Not like the Yankees.

oh I hope so!!

no going to sleep now. This medicine is obviously not for inducing sleep. I just put on Glory Road. I love movies that are based on actual events.

And now Haley and John are snoring. Will Samantha be next>?

I don't hate the Sox, I do - as does Johnny HATE the Yanks! (well Giambi is my exception) It was in the 50's I think at the game === cold@!!

does anyone just ever have those days where you think this just can't be my child?

Samantha has really been not herself this week. We went grocery shopping. We get home, put it all away and she demands (not asks in a polite way) a yougurt...it was close to lunch or maybe dinner and I said no and she sat on the floor and had a fit. Haley looked at me and I looked at her and she started laughing which of course heightened the tantrum. "everyone hates me" she screamed and ran to their room.

I so fear the teenage years...can anyone send me a handbook for this?

This story reminds me of my bosses daughter when she was 4 years old. She pitched some kind of fit and her mom and dad calmly sent her to her room. She stomped up the stairs SCREAMING "I HATE YOU........I HATE YOU......I HATE YOU....I HATE YOU....." then she stopped and turned around and pointed at her mother and said "AND YOU ARE UGLY TOO"

That was the meanest thing she could think of.....so funny:lmao: :lmao:

Our house is starting to get cold too - but I refuse to turn on the heat until Nov 1 unless it snows! House temp is down to about 64 at night, and the outside is in the 40's. I like lots of blankets too though - Amy is the opposite - she doesn't even like to sleep with a sheet!

Oh my gosh, that's too funny!

Here's something funny: I had forgotten that it's homecoming weekend for MSU until I was on my way from work to school today and saw Sparty driving down the sidewalk in a golfcart! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: I know....it's a simple thing, but it's just something you don't expect to see alongside the road! I was sort of surprised!

is that Michigan State Spartans Holly? One of my co-workers graduated from there and his wife U of Michigan. They go back up many weekends during football season!

Yup. Michigan State Spartans. You had to have seen the pic of me and Tyler with Sparty at the hockey game! :rotfl2: We see Sparty lots around here and I was just trying to take Tyler's pic with him, but one of the workers who was walking around with Sparty told me she'd take my camera and get us both in the pic.

what's WILD!

LHS - Dreadnaughts...ok, ORANGE and BLACK. I end up in Sarasota and Sarasota High School - Sailors...ORANGE and BLACK!!

My girls will be going to Riverview though....

I ate a WHOLE 12-inch Subway sub tonight after class! Now that's some MAJOR comfort eating going on! :rotfl2: And that's after I'd eaten a bunch of snacky stuff in all my classes today too. Oh well.....it made me feel better, so it's all good! :thumbsup2
And I had pasta. But I figure, we can take a few steps forward and one back and still be heading in the right direction!
Me too! My favorite used to be a quilt made from blue jean scraps because it was so heavy, but now it's a tie between a small knitted one my grandma made (because she died in 1998 and it makes me feel closer to her) and my llama one because it's the warmest thing I've ever felt! OK.....I'm wrong...it's Alpaca.
My youngest son has a teddy bear made from Alpaca - and it is the softest thing I have ever felt! Where did you get a blanket??? I'd love one.

so here's my funny "star" story..living in california, I've met alot of "famous" people doing charity work or selling statewide propositions. BUT my best one and (in hindsight) funny one is when I met Jerry Springer. Thats right, the crazy talk show guy. I was travelling for work from sf to charleston and had to change planes in atlanta. I was 5 months pregnant and had a heightened sense of smell. The guy sitting next to me on the first leg smelled so bad (to me) that I spent most of the flight standing and talking to the flight attendants. Well, when I got off the plane I went to get a snack in between my next flight. It was then I discovered that my wallet was gone. I had it on the plane because I bought a headset...back in the day when you had to pay...so I went back to the plane and the flight attendants helped me look (thinking it was on the floor at my seat) but it wasn't there. I didn't know what to do as I was on a business trip. So poor pitiful me sat and cried in the terminal while customer service made sure I could get on my next flight w/o ID. A man came up and sat next to me, put his arm around me and asked if he could be of any help. I told him my sob story and that the airlines were helping me out, but thanks anyway. He walked over to the CS counter and checked on me and then came back and said he was sorry that happened and wanted to give me $20 so I had some cash. I said no thanks, but he insisted. It was then that I looked up from my pathetic cry to see that it was Jerry Springer. I sobbed out, your Jerry Springer and he laughed and said yes, so take my $20 I can afford it. Then he walked me to my gate and said goodbye.
So even though, I lost my cash, credit cards, the ultrasound pictures of my daughter, I flew onto charleston a happy camper. It reaffirmed my faith that anyone including "celebrity" could be kind.

So there's my best celeb story. Hope you all have a good night. Tomorrow is "croptoberfest" and I'll be scrapbooking all day!

I love the celeb stories!

I got my blanket from my great uncle who lives in Miami. He got it in Peru on a recent trip. It's very, very heavy and oh so wonderful, soft, and warm!
