Ooooh, cozy blankets are the best! I have like half a dozen blankets on or around my couch for snuggle purposes.
Me too! My favorite used to be a quilt made from blue jean scraps because it was so heavy, but now it's a tie between a small knitted one my grandma made (because she died in 1998 and it makes me feel closer to her) and my llama one because it's the warmest thing I've ever felt! OK.....I'm wrong...it's Alpaca.

I am the only one up and probably the most tired and sick! I have to watch the game though, John1 I am sure you are watching. Did you see that catch by Manny?

I haven't "met" him but I see him on my lunch hour all the time. Stephan King has a house here on Casey Key (I think) but he loves the same little deli we all do and he is here often --- but I know better than to ask for an autograph. I don't want to be the next Carrie!
ETA: the whole King thing - because he has been shown repeatedly at the game!

:goodvibes I love blankies!! I keep my house cold and we always have blankets around. When I was pregnant with Haley one of the payroll girls made me a FL Gator blanket ---- fleece, one of those no sew! Oh my, John Samantha and I still fight over it even though it was a gift for Haley!:rotfl:

Feel better V!!!

I have to spend some time with DH (off the computer!!)
Catch up with you guys tomorrow!

V, you need to get to sleep so you can get better!

Actually I feel a lot better. Still stuffy but I think through the weekend I will be ok. I must be allergic to work!:thumbsup2
Haley tried her best to take care of me today and Samantha - gosh, she acts like a spoiled teenager. I really need some sort of parent handbook these days.

so here's my funny "star" story..living in california, I've met alot of "famous" people doing charity work or selling statewide propositions. BUT my best one and (in hindsight) funny one is when I met Jerry Springer. Thats right, the crazy talk show guy. I was travelling for work from sf to charleston and had to change planes in atlanta. I was 5 months pregnant and had a heightened sense of smell. The guy sitting next to me on the first leg smelled so bad (to me) that I spent most of the flight standing and talking to the flight attendants. Well, when I got off the plane I went to get a snack in between my next flight. It was then I discovered that my wallet was gone. I had it on the plane because I bought a headset...back in the day when you had to pay...so I went back to the plane and the flight attendants helped me look (thinking it was on the floor at my seat) but it wasn't there. I didn't know what to do as I was on a business trip. So poor pitiful me sat and cried in the terminal while customer service made sure I could get on my next flight w/o ID. A man came up and sat next to me, put his arm around me and asked if he could be of any help. I told him my sob story and that the airlines were helping me out, but thanks anyway. He walked over to the CS counter and checked on me and then came back and said he was sorry that happened and wanted to give me $20 so I had some cash. I said no thanks, but he insisted. It was then that I looked up from my pathetic cry to see that it was Jerry Springer. I sobbed out, your Jerry Springer and he laughed and said yes, so take my $20 I can afford it. Then he walked me to my gate and said goodbye.
So even though, I lost my cash, credit cards, the ultrasound pictures of my daughter, I flew onto charleston a happy camper. It reaffirmed my faith that anyone including "celebrity" could be kind.

So there's my best celeb story. Hope you all have a good night. Tomorrow is "croptoberfest" and I'll be scrapbooking all day!

does anyone just ever have those days where you think this just can't be my child?

Samantha has really been not herself this week. We went grocery shopping. We get home, put it all away and she demands (not asks in a polite way) a yougurt...it was close to lunch or maybe dinner and I said no and she sat on the floor and had a fit. Haley looked at me and I looked at her and she started laughing which of course heightened the tantrum. "everyone hates me" she screamed and ran to their room.

I so fear the teenage years...can anyone send me a handbook for this?

I've heard they just go through spurts occasionally when they just need to test their boundaries to feel secure that nothing's changed.

wow - that's another one!! Jerry has a home here and we see him all the time on St Armand's circle. Never met him but when John and I first started dated I sucked him in to watching the Springer Show!!

Dick Vitale's daughter was in our Lamaze class - she had twin boys - and we see him all around town as well. Mostly at Sam Seltzer's Steak House.

V, just keep the memory in your head of how helpful Samantha was so many days in a row, helping do dishes and all sorts of things around the house. That's the true Samantha and you'll see her again after she finishes with this phase of testing boundaries, which should be pretty short-lived if you just stay consistent with what you've always done. :thumbsup2

And yes, unfortunately, everybody says the teenage years are identical to toddler years.

Then again, I have no business deciphering kid behavior when my own is so out of control!

Yikes!!

thanks so much. I do try and think of her good days....

It's funny, Samantha is so....well, me. She is strong, pushy, stubborn, knows what she wants and has my temper. The only thing of mine she doesn't have is my red hair! She is so smart and remembers just about everything.

Just remember....being stubborn and knowing what she wants are qualities that will serve her well later in life! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes
