May 10, 2008 Ship of Thieves! Stealing the Magic..AGAIN!!! Panama Canal FL to CA!!! Part 6

We'll be married 11 years on November 30th. We married 5 years to the day (the day after Thanksgiving, ok 2 days it was Saturday) so together for 16...Man that sounds like a long time...ok I'm feeling old.

We will hit the 40 year mark Oct 6. DD, DS and DM are having a "surprise" party for us Sept 29. They planned to have it a week early to "throw us off."

Oh, and we met at Disneyland, love at first sight, married the 9th time we ever laid eyes on each other.

And they say that you need to wait and get to know the person before you get married!

it's funny - the day I met Johnny I called my Grandma and told her I met the man I was going to marry!

there's nothing on tv tonight...maybe I can get something done around the house. John has a ball game and tomorrow is trash day, I might be able to get some stuff to the curb without him knowing!

Sneaky, sneaky! That's what I do with Tyler's old stuff when he's at his dad's. He leaves Wed night for his dad's and trash pickup is Thursday morning. Perfect!

It's quiet here this week. My DGS's school has fall break so they have gone to the beach. It's like I have all this time on my hands and can't figure out what to do with it. The pool is closed and I think I have shopped the stores out. I don't enjoy buying winter clothes so the summer ones are about gone. But I did get some good bargains for next year.

Holly - how was Tyler's day?

He had a great day! So much fun, he can't wait to go back tomorrow! The first thing he told me was how he listened to his teacher and did what he was told. He was proud of himself! And he was happy about going for ice cream too. He asked if we can do that every year, "even the first day of first grade!"

The fires are still burning. She has spoken with her family and all is fine, for now. She heard of a story of a mom and four kids that they found charred to death, hugging one another. They tried to escape by car but there was an accident and so they got out of the car and tried to escape by foot but the 100 mph winds that were propelling the fire, caught them...and the rest you can surmise what happened. How awful!

Very sad!

Well, we're off to dinner - it's our anniversary too! 14 years!!!! Happy Anniversary Karen and Ted!!!!

So I finally got my water heater today and it's installed, but I still need an electrician to hook it up. Fortunately, I managed to find one that can do it TOMORROW after work & school! SO after 3 days shy of a month, and $1,000.00 later, I'LL HAVE HOT WATER tomorrow night! No more bathing from a pot of water heated on the stove. No more washing clothes in cold. No more heating a pot of water to wash dishes.

Deb- the wedding was beautiful. Still no word on DH’s tests- hopefully tomorrow. Olivia does make me laugh!

Holly- Patience usually does yield better results! It’s like that with my personal life and my job.
Tyler looks so cute starting his first day of school!

Marilyn- I think a lot of people will be doing laundry on this cruise, because it’s so long (us included).

V- I LOVE shrimp with pasta! It was leftovers for dinner again around here. I’m sorry you had to send your dog to your mom’s house. At least you know she’ll be well taken care of there and have lots of room to run around!

Gydell- I’ve been married to DH for almost 5 years (our anniversary is in November); my parents will be married for 30 years in a few weeks; my grandparents (who are joining us on this cruise) have been married for about 67 years!

DCL is losing it lately! When we got the letters about the $100 increase/decrease, I noticed that two letters were going to my brother’s house (with my grandfather’s name) and none to my brother’s house… I called DCL today and they somehow screwed it up so that my grandparents were double booked and my brother/future SIL weren’t booked anymore. First they accused me of making the initial reservation improperly, but I had all the original confirmations with the correct names!! It took about half an hour to clear everything up, but we’re back to being booked properly! PHEW!

It is very easy to use. You put in all your expeneses and it tells you what you need to save each month. It also lets you keeps track of what you have paid so far.
