Trying to catch up, haven't been on since DD's Birthday on Friday. I have about 35 pages to catch up!

Surprised DD with a surprise party on Saturday night at our wine shop! He really was surprised! Will post pictures soon.

Would appreciate some good thoughts...

We went to move our web servers last Wednesday and our "helpers" dropped one of our Sun Microsystem moocho expensive machines and our web-sight has been down ever since.

We have been struggling to get our shop rolling all summer and our internet sales have been helping to keep us going. With our web down for a full week now we are really struggling.

We had 2 partners that bailed on us with all of the delays from the builders with our new space, and we had, what we thought, was a great partner that came on board with us in May and he has "literally" disapeared! Started lot's of projects (he's a contractor) but never finished them. Our floor has lifted continually all summer!

We keep thinking good thoughts, working hard and hoping for things to gel, but it's been an uphill battle with just our own funding and now to be without our internet... well, I hope that we can get the systems up by tomorrow, or we are probably toast!

Ok, thanks for listening... I'm going back to catching up now.

Karen
Oh Karen, how awful! I really hope things get straightened out for your business.

Holly,

That sounds like a great schedule, it probably helps Tyler with it being more of a routine.

Are you both flexible if either one of you wants him for a full weekend?

Looks like your weight loss ticker went down again! Congratulations! 30 pounds is awesome!

Karen
Yup, his dad and I are both flexible about extra time. Neither of us has ever said no if the other asks for an extra day here and there for special events or trips. Well, except one time when I had to say no to his dad when he asked for an extra day, but that's only because we already had tickets to Dragontales Live that I had paid a ton of money for.

Karen,

I must have missed your post while reading quickly this afternoon . . .

I really hope things turn around for you - it must be very frustrating after working so hard!

so Holly, what was Tyler's reaction this morning?

I can remember one of my friend's daughters reaction when she saw "all" the money, she said "the toothfairy must have knocked her basket over"! It was cute!
Well, when he was eating breakfast, I asked him if he heard anything strange during the night. I told him I thought I heard something that sounded like a bat or something flying around, but was too tired to get up and check it out. He thought about it for a second and said, "Well, the tooth fairy would fly around, but I didn't leave my tooth for her." I told him sometimes the tooth fairy does crazy things and that he should check anyway. He checked under his pillow and when he saw an envelope with his name, he said, "But I didn't even leave my tooth!" So I told him to open it and see what's going on, I read the note to him, and he was so excited about her "allowing" him to keep his tooth! Then he had to count all his money. He was quite pleased with himself! :rotfl2:

I don't think it did PJ - the one feature I like is the ability to lighten shadow areas and darken highlights independently. I was constantly fiddling with the old iPhoto to get a balance - and now I feel like I can "dodge and burn" (any old darkroom people out there?)

Love the shadow and highlight options as well, those three have made me a much better photographer already, lol.

Karen, fingers crossed that the shop issues clear up and you all start rolling along toward more successes.

Holly must have been busy today...I wonder how the tooth fairy went or did I miss it?
Yup, very busy! After work, I took Tyler up to school to pick up a kindergarten tote back of goodies we heard about in a postcard we received yesterday. While we were there, they told us which building and classroom he's assigned to. So we went to the building to check it out briefly. Orientation is next week, so he'll get a tour then and will get to see his classroom that day. His teacher is his best friend's aunt, so he already knows her from doing stuff with their family. He likes her a lot, so he's excited!

Then after Tyler's dad picked him up, I went to a speed dating event. I've done it in the past a couple times and LOVE it! They're always so much fun! Especially for somebody who likes to talk as much as I do! :rotfl2:

Took me forever to catch up with you chatty folks!

Cherie:

iLife '08 so far . . .

Really like the new iPhoto - easier to keep me organized, and I really like the new ability to publish web galleries to a .Mac account.

iMovie - everyone is stressing over how they removed features and "dumbed it down". I say, so what! If I want the power of iMovie HD, I still have it. The new iMovie makes quick projects much faster and easier, and it is really snappy.

I don't mess with Garage Band, so no comment there.

Also haven't messed with iWeb yet or iDVD.

For $79 you can't beat the software!

Can you explain the difference between iMovie and iDVD? Total computer novices when it comes to the cool software. We made a DVD of our 11 day Southern Caribbean cruise off of iDVD. It has neat stuff but it didn't really let you import music and edit the film all that much. It turned out pretty decent, but not really what we wanted. Recently played with iMovie a little and it appears this is what we are looking for. Just don't understand why they would have two different concepts for what one really would be wanting to do. A dumbed down version of iMovie might just be what we need!

I wish I had gone to the hospital, unfortunately I couldn't move without puking....that was the most miserable week of my life....

Deb, do you check out any of the Big Brother sights or watch the live feeds? or do you just watch the shows?

Kari, I have watched BB since the second season, I read http://bb8talk.blogspot.com/ and watch the shows. I like Danielle and think that she is really thinking through the game. I see it the most in her diary room sessions.

Kari and PJ: I only watch the shows and after dark...I also check out the website and vote for Erick things.

PJ, I'm with you about Daniele...I think she's got the best game play and the least amount of ego...then she has her dad watching her back....I hope she takes it all!!! Oh, and she's a damn good competitor during the competitions!:flower3: :upsidedow :flower3:

Speed Dating....I would have LOVED doing that when I was single, but it was after my time....I probably did it anyway, without it being a set format....had a lot of first dates....some as short as speed dating!!! :rotfl2:

YEAHHHHH! We'll be there on 22, 23, 24 and 25...when the time gets closer, let's put our plans together and meet for a champagne toast and a hug!!! :hippie:

So excited to be in WDW AND to meet you both!! We have Chef's Table at Victoria and Albert's...

Karen

Good morning! The sky is blue and the sun is shining!!

What a horrible summer we have had. It would be nice to have an Indian Summer now.:cloud9:

We are about 50 miles South of Cleveland. There is lots of minor flooding near us. Nothing yet as serious as it was a couple of years ago. Thank goodness is finally stopped raining today! It had been raining since we got home from NYC on Sunday!

Flooding is so devastating to the folk who have housed damaged. Hundreds of people here are living in mobile homes in their gardens or elsewhere till their homes are cleaned/re-plastered etc. There is so much work to be done some people won't be back in their homes till next year.

OK....Kathe, Kaylee, Marilyn, Jan, V, Jackie, Peg, Holly, Heather, Gator, Gydell and Lisa.....sooooooo good of you all to be so concerned about the legs....here's what I have decided to do:

I'll pack a bag to do a hosptial stay and I'll bring it with me to my wound center appointment on Thurs. If I go into the emergency room tomorrow, it'll take six hours to get admitted. If I wait one more day, the wound center will admit me. I prefer to do it that way. After six weeks, one more day is not going to matter and it'll be so much easier doing it that way. OK, when I disappear for a couple of days from Thurs on.....you'll know where I've gone! I'm sure I'll have lots of catching up to do....no DIS in the hosptial. I'll miss you all, but hope to be back soon!
:grouphug:  :grouphug:

Deb,

I am still catching up!

Just wanted to send :grouphug: and pixiedust: and let you know that I will be thinking of you all day today (Thursday)!

Good luck and good wishes!

XO,

It really is a blessing to have this great group of people in our court.

Hello

Aye, It would be nice tohave an Indian Summer now - as it is lovely day today.

I went to M&S for shopping and I wore green top, colourful skirt and green shoes and lovely necklaces as I feel why not it is lovely day (I always wore black/dark clothes).

I Brought some new clothes from per una as it was sales so keep it for holiday next year.

It is quite warm today - so much better than the last few days. I think it is raining in London though!! What a shame!!!!!!:rotfl:

I have bought a couple of items at Per Una for next year. I also picked up a great silk crinkle skirt from the Autograph collection there. I saw it early in the season and it was £45(!), but it was in the clearance for £12. Took it to the counter and it had gone to - £1!!

My biggest worry for the cruise is evening wear as I am not used to wearing such clothes.

Well it's two hours before I have to leave for my wound care center appointment...where they will probably admit me into the hospital. Of course, I'm freaking out in a panic because I DREAD any type of medical procedure. I need a valium or two or three, but I don't have any. I'm on my own today because John has taken so much time off this past year between me and mom and Ray...he had to go in.

My dog was chasing the cat last night and banged into the back of my legs and I started seeing stars. It still hurts this morning. Great, just when people are going to be poking around on them today. I have such a low tolerence for pain, which I have every day, then I go to a medical procedure and burst into tears when they start poking around adding even more pain.

Well I already wrote down all my illnesses and all my medications...wow the list is long for both. I never realize until I have to write it down. Now I have to pack a bag and get dressed...can you say procrastination....I feel like I'm being a big baby, but I just can't help it. I remember being with mom in the hospital eight times in the last eight months and seeing all the things that they did to her...she was so brave and I am so not.

OK, I have to get my act together...I refuse to think about anything that's going to happen today...I'll only think about Mickey's ship...sipping BBCs by the pool...sitting on the balcony in the middle of the night...hearing the horn go off out of port...pulling into a port with the steel drums music playing...meeting all my new DIS family...ok it's working, I'm feeling better now. Cya all in a couple of days...hopefully not long.
