I do exactly the same thing! Each time I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, which is usually 3 times, I sit out outside for a bit and just enjoy the peaceful sound and smell. That's one of my favorite parts of a cruise. Not sure how I'll survive without that this cruise. :scared1:

I thought I was the only one who did such crazy things....glad to know I'm not alone. You could always sit out on deck 4 this cruise...it's my favorite deck. :cutie:

Holly, an explanation!!

Some pictures are not too helpful though!

Battenberg Cake

The outside layer is thin marzipan. Not sure what you would call it. It is ground almonds, sugar and egg. I think on these cakes though there there may be more artificial ingredients.

Marilyn,

Thanks for the education on the goodies!

I'm not much for goodies with jam, I tend to go for Ice Cream or Chocolate, mostly with nuts!

We have only stayed at the Radisson. Any suggestions on other hotels?
Jan :earsgirl:

Hi Jan, is the Radisson at the airport or near Port Canaveral? We're staying at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach. We have a suite with a private balcony that overlooks the ocean. We usually watch the ship come in and get all excited. I'm not certain of what other hotels are close to the Port. I know our tablemates are staying nearby and we plan to do dinner with them the night before we leave. You might want to get their opinion.

Lisa (LisaG520), if you're reading this....what hotel are you staying at again????
:rolleyes1 :goodvibes :rolleyes1

I wonder if  Bobbi would like to travel around the country visiting the DIS Thread members before the Panama Canal Cruise.

Each host or hostess could take a few photos of him exploring sites of interest in each locale before arranging transportation for him to another host or hostess.

The photos could be added to a TRIP REPORT thread (except that I have no idea how to post pictures so someone would have to help me with that part.)

I would be glad to give him a tour of Indianapolis if he would like to visit.
Jan :earsgirl:

Now this I would LOVE to see!!!!! Bobby's summer adventures!!!! He may rack up more miles than Angie and Dennis and more frequent flyer miles than Noel!
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Hi Everyone--
I'm sitting in the airport in Honolulu, first time online in a week. I've been wondering what's been going on on our thread--I think I'm about 100 pages behind at this point but sooner or later I'll get caught up!

My flight has been delayed so I'll have to spend the night in LA tonight and fly home to AZ tomorrow.

My trip was great! I love Hawaii and can't wait to go back. I took underwater pix for the first time and they turned out pretty good; I'll post some in a few days. The NCL ship itself was OK, actually it was fine, but the food in the dining rooms was horrible! And the service was slow, slow, slow. Ick! The buffets were OK, they were like any cafeteria food so it did the job of keeping the tummy full but it was NOT like Disney. We didn't try any of the "extra cost" restaurants so I can't comment there. The staff of the ship were all very friendly (more than I was expecting). A major part of the ship had no AC the whole cruise--fortunately not our section! There were a LOT of very angry people as you can imagine. And as far as I know, it wasn't fixed when we disembarked today so some people are in for a very unplesant surprise when they board today!

All in all I had a great time--I'll post more later but just wanted to say "hi" and I've missed everyone.

Aloha!

Hi Official Mascot of the Champagne Girls....we have missed you too!!! Can't wait to get the details and pics of this trip....it sounds like you had a great time. Welcome Home!
:cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2:

DH and I lived on airplanes for years and still have tons of Frequent Flier miles which we use for upgrades. SWA is so cheap for us $118 RT to Reno that we could not drive our cars for the same amount of money!!

Hope to get to graduation by Tuesday!!

Noel

Looking forward to seeing the pics and hearing all about it!
:thumbsup2 :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Got it Jill! Will add you to a list. Thanks so much! Lisa

I read this too quick and I thought you had taken on the task of being  BB travel list maker :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Karen,
It was SO easy to order from your website! Thank you so much. www.winemiles.com

And you responded so quickly! I love that. I'll let you know how the celebration goes. I have a conference in a hotel (Hotel Valencia in Santana Row) so will be spending two nights. First night, DH will come and visit. Second night, two girlfriends and my sister. It is only 30 miles from my house...but our insurance company is paying for the hotel so why not!
Lisa

Hello....that's 1/2 mile from my house. used to walk to Town and Country when I was a teenager to visit the Cheese Shop, Bead Shop and a cool Japanesse store...now the glory of Santana Row...I hear the hotel is wonderful. It seems too close to bother with for us, but ya never know, a night away someday might just call me over...have a good time. The outdoor bar on in the middle (can't think of the name of it) has this wonderful beer and lime concoction....almost like having a DCL rum DOD :drinking1 pirate:

Whew, I can´t believe we are at more than 18000 posts, definetly we have some cruisers with a lot of time in their hands :rotfl2:

I have lost all hope of catching up, so I won´t mess the board this time with replies to old posts :rotfl:

Hope everyone had a great Memorial weekend (that is not a holiday here) and enjoyed their long weekend.

DD and I were at WDW last month with friends and had the best time.

We are going back from september 27th until october 6th. Anyone planning to attend MNSSHP on october 4th?

Hi Julie, it's great to have you back....we're doing the MNSSHP on Nov 2....sorry we're going to miss you by one month. Have a great time and let us know all about it before we leave.
:yay: :cool1: :yay:

And with thoughts of deck 4, I think I'll head to bed now. Still wide awake, probably from the 8 packets of Smarties I ate. Yup, 8. They're my weakness. I very rarely buy them because I can't stop. I eat them until I start getting a headache from the sugar rush. Blech! But I've been doing so well with my eating, one day screwing up won't kill me. I'm thrilled that for the first time in almost 5 years, I finally broke below the 200 pound mark! :woohoo: I was 210 when I went for my "female checkup" in March, but when I went to my regular doc to renew my migraine med 3 days ago I was 199. Not a huge loss, but I was THRILLED to not see that 2 at the beginning of the number! :yay: And I'm sure that number will keep going down! :cheer2:

So anyway, back to thoughts of deck 4. If I lie in bed, close my eyes, and pretend I'm on the Magic, in a comfy chair on deck 4, listening to the water splash on the side of the ship, I'm sure I'll drift peacefully off to Disney dreamland! :cloud9: Goodnight all!

Congrats on the weight loss Holly....must have been all those workouts at the gym....keep up the good work!!!!
:yay: :cool2: :yay:

WooHoo, great idea! We can have him at the mini-DIS meet at our wine shop and take pictures of him with all of us DISers at the shop (with wine of course!)

Karen

Now this I have GOT to see....I would even pay money!!!!!:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

John, is Bobby even old enough to drink wine????

I found a friend for Bobby Banana to meet on the cruise. He arrived at our house today along with the passports.

We call him Jack.

hmmmm seems I had this same story told to me just a few weeks ago...from my sister. She gave up the ghost and bought a good mattress ($1500) and is very happy. okay I gave her the advice. We also invested in a good mattress a few years back and have never slept better. (I'm not a water bed fan, never had one and can't sleep on them) perhaps I was trying to convert her???:confused3

Nan,

What type of "good mattress" do you have. We are looking for something new soon!!

I hope that all goes well and that you have a lovely "trip"!

I have wanted to check out Santana Row for a quite a while now, so I hope that I can get down there sometime in the next year!

Karen, we bought a good one about two years ago....got a sealy pillowtop....top of the line crown something....and paid $1200 for it....best investment we ever made. It's sooooo cushy soft on top with good firm support underneath. I have back problems and it's the only one I can sleep on without any pain in the morning. At the time, we bought a serta pillowtop first and sent it back immediately. I definitely recommend sealy not serta.
:cloud9: ;) :cloud9:

Deb,

We also both have back issues so this is good to know. DD is a big guy, 6'4" (he says 6'3" but none of us believe him!) and he has a lot of trouble sleeping on his side as his shoulder and arm always fall asleep. We need a lot of support, but we should probably have a softer pillow top. Our other problem is if it is too soft on top, we get depressions and it has to be turned more often (the problem with our old pillow top, which I think was a Serta.)

Thanks for the req!

You have to go to the store and lay down on them to see the difference. Consider a sealy pillowtop that's not their top of the line, but one at a lesser level and for less money too. They still have the same support, but the pillowtop is not as cushy. That might work better for you and Ted.

John is 6'2"....wow, he seems short as compared to Ted. Speaking of short, I'm only 5'2".:guilty: :upsidedow :guilty:
