Holly and Lisa/LiserAnn have a fabulous vacation.

Lisa/disneylover5 you have to go back to the market with a camera and take a pic of all of Bobby's family!!!!
I definitely will! All I have to do is mow & pull weeds tomorrow, plus throw some more chemicals in the pool before we leave. Then we're on our way. :thumbsup2

That's one of the funniest things I've read all week!

Well, I think it is soon time for bed.

Good night everyone . . .

Have a safe trip Holly!

Nan 5'2" (eyes of blue)
Paul 5'8"
Miss Molly 4'9" (expected to be 5'8 -5'10" said her Dr. when she was 2!)
Wilson 4' (actually 47.5", he was measured tonight as we had to buy a theme park ticket based on height, go figure)

Not a prison sentence, but I could not even begin to touch a house in a gated community on the coast.

California is a great place to live, you just have to be realistic about it. And it is expensive...of course, compared to Silicon Valley or San Francisco, we look positively affordable!!!

I resemble that remark... or at least my mortgage does.

Our prop taxes are 1.25%, with a decent house at +$1Mil, do the math, too much...

I have to make an effort to find a way to see Delaware in the next few years, it does sound good for retirement.

School is out for us in one week, then manically getting ready for China. I'll be checking as I can, could ya pm me too if anything of substance or a reply is needed. Please & Thanks !

Perhaps Bobby clone would like to make a trip to China???? John???? Is the Great Wall calling him? or perhpas HK disneyland??

Hi Gang-we're going up to Lake Tahoe and will be there until Father's Day. DH will have his laptop but I doubt I'll be logging on. I just wanted to say have a great week...don't chat too much :goodvibes and I'll chat again in a week!!!

Have a great time but watch out--I missed a week and I'm still FAR from being caught up!:scared1:

Ok, all caught up. Holly, I saw photos of your house in your posts and your house in Santa Clara would probably cost $650K.
 :scared: :faint: YIKES! Well, if the house is 10 X more out there, I'd hope my salary would be 10 X more as well, so it would even out. My $20K would make me homeless out there! :rotfl2: So I'm happy sticking with our cold and snow! :thumbsup2 It's just really interesting to see how incomes and cost of living vary in different states. I love everybody's comparisons!

Well, I suppose I should try to get some sleep. I'm just too excited about mini-vacation to close my eyes! See you all in the morning!

But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.

John - it is the first time my DH was interested in DISboards! That was so funny. I read it outloud to him and he is still laughing. Lisa

I forgot to tell you guys that Bobby has lots of relatives. Just like some other ethnic groups, some people say it is hard to tell Bobby from the other bananas, at least until you get to know him.

I picked up a few of his "body doubles" before I left the office tonight. We may get him around the country sooner than I thought!

Would Bobby like to go to Disneyland? I'm going next Tuesday for a few days.

Ughhhh . . . we had dance recital rehearsal tonight. This has to be something an evil genius thought up to make people think there was no hope left in the world.
I balanced the video camera on my knee, with a wide shot of the whole stage, and shot with the still camera. Can't wait to see that video - probably about as still a shot as the Blair Witch project!

John, I feel your pain triple fold....ours is tomorrow!:scared1: We have 3 shows, and for the first year, all of our dances are in the same show!!!!!!!! No sitting through 2 nights this year. I will be at the hall from 2-??? supposedly 5, but probably more like 6. Jaide is performing 2x, Taylor 1x and me 1x. I usually have Jaide record my dance and it is a great video of our feet:lmao: I actually have gotten quite talented at the 1 hand video and 1 hand still picture mode (since there is no way I could convince Scott to come see rehearsal and then recital. One night of sitting through all those dances is enough for him). People are usually pretty impressed when they see me doing that.

By the way, Scott is :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: reading those rules you posted.
Those were some great ones!

When is the actual recital? Ours isn't until 21st. We have ours on T,W,Th evenings instead of the weekends which is kind of nice.

Holly and Liserann....have great vacations! (although I am sure you already left and won't read this!)

Good morning. Beautiful day here but we are going to spend 5 hours of it driving down south!

Hi Gang-we're going up to Lake Tahoe and will be there until Father's Day. DH will have his laptop but I doubt I'll be logging on. I just wanted to say have a great week...don't chat too much :goodvibes and I'll chat again in a week!!!

Have a great trip.:)

.....the more I read about CA....Delaware is looking better and better....10 mins. from the beach, all four seasons in moderation....not -20 in winter and not 100+ in summer, no state tax, no sales tax, only $60k for 5 acres and we're building our own house.

Hmmm going to have to look into that...

Laura, you might want to consider looking at Sussex County, DE, it's part of the DELMARVA (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia) penninsula close to the Maryland border. Lots of nice beach towns in the area. If you go 10-20 mins. inland off the coast, the prices are more reasonable. It's lots of farmland and woods right now, but they are building it up. Lots of outlet shopping in the Rohoboth Beach area...growing everyday. Within the next few years would be the right time to buy before the property values rise.

Our land appraised for $90k and we only paid $60k. It's 10-15 mins. inland off of Bethany Beach. The locals call it "lower slower Delaware". But it's conveniently located to Ocean City, MD. The major surrounding cities are DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Wilmington. Virginia Beach and Norfolk are also not far. It's also easy to get to FL from there so you can visit the Mouse often.

If you find that you want to look into it more seriously after you have done some research, PM me and I will put you in contact with a great real estate agent who has now become a good friend.

I grew up on the East End of Long Island and really miss the beach towns. Since moving to PA I have tried the NJ coast and don't like it. I tried the Delaware coast and feel right at home.

Lisa/disneylover5 has a beach home in Bethany Beach, DE and she also loves it. We're building in 4 years and moving there in 5 years. Lisa and I would love to have you as our neighbor.
:flower3: :cool2: :flower3:

Now even I am thinking this would be nice!

Plugging away at catching up...just wanted to let John, V & Holly know I've been enjoying the graduation, vacation and birthday party pictures! Still haven't gotten to the Dismeet pics...

How long are you staying? We are going up on Friday - hoping to ride Nemo!

We'll be there Wed. through Sun. I'd like to ride Nemo, too, but wonder what the line situation will be. I'd also like to check out the Pirates' Lair if it's not impossibly crowded. I'm driving over Wed. with my nephew (in pic below); his mom (my sis, also in pic) will fly over Fri., our cousin will join us Sat. On Sunday sis & nephew fly home & cousin will come back to AZ with me for a visit.

Our dance "show" is week after next, the 21st, 22nd and 23rd. DD's dance group does a very professional show, (even surprised DH the first year he waw it!) and is held at the Regional Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. It's lots of fun, but a lot of work too!

I heard the queue for Nemo can possibly stretch all the way to ToonTown!! When we were there for the meet you could see where they had drilled the holes for the queue poles back to Small World already.

Pictures of Pirate's Lair that I've seen have shown a huge line. I'm thinking these are both attractions to run for right after rope drop.

Unfortunately we probably won't be there on Friday until around 10AM. (I have to register for a scrapbook expo in San Diego at 8am before we leave).
