I got a call from DH today saying their was a light "dripping" from the fire alarm in the hallway... I called the home warranty people and they'll send someone over tomorrow. I believe it's an internal leak from the ac duct or something. (I have NO idea where that came from ).

John - I used to love waterbeds too - we have a "sleep" number bed now, air compartments and DH can set his side to his beloved 60 while I'm clearly a happy gal at 35.

I just love the idea we can both be happy in the same bed (NO COMMENTS FROM THE PEANUT GALLERY!) - HOLLY... ( I know how your mind works). Under normal circumstances I'd be encouraging you... but since I stuck my own foot in my mouth...

The 'sleep' number bed sounds interesting. Not sure we have them over here but I will be looking!

to my UK DIS'ers....

I have been longing for some fruit gums....NOT wine gums and our local British shops cannot get them in for some reason, maybe due to the reason the UK shop in Epcot many times has sanctions on them as well as Smarties???? IDK...

Do you know any reputible shop/web sites I can order from?

thanks!

I will have a look for you. Do you mean Rowntrees Fruit Gums?

Have a look here - they say they ship round the world.

This week I'm in search of an outlet store for Le Crueset!!! I don't want to have to drive all the way back to Palm Springs - but if I have too... I might do that later in the month and hit DL for a couple of days. We'll see.:wizard:

Hey Peggy, isn't there one at the Anthem mall? You can also get a pretzel dog at Auntie Anne's while you're there!:cool1:

I have been reading everything everyone has been posting, but too exhausted to comment and catch up . . .

Not a very good day. Rough day at the office, and when I was getting ready to leave, Amy called with bad news - leak in the waterbed. We have had a water bed since we were married. The first one was one of those kind you usually think of - bookcase type, big sideboards, dark ugly wood, etc. About 3 years ago we made a switch to one that looks like a traditional bed, but has tubes filled with water hidden in the mattress.

I have really loved our waterbeds, and other than on the Magic, I usually sleep badly on other beds.

Well, I called the store that sells water beds in town, and he told me he sells the tubes - $25 each, or all 10 for $200.

I get home, and start to try and figure out what to do. There was not much water that got out, it is all in the liner, and I am trying to figure out what tube is leaking, but they are ALL wet! Impossible to figure out easily or quickly which one is the leaker, and I do not want to sleep on the couch tonight. So I resign myself to buying all 10 new tubes.

Get to the store at 7:00, and the guy says, "oh, you have a King size, I have to order those, takes about 2 days!":scared1:

So what are my options here . . . he does have the big "bladders", and I can buy two of those for $250. I don't know if any of you have a waterbed, but the WORST part is filling up the bed - seems to take FOREVER.

While I am trying to figure out if I can get to another store before closing, he tells me I do have another option . . . switching it to an "air" bed. Now that sounds intruiging - no more hoses and water, I can set my side to my own level of comfort . . . sounds good. But the glorified canvas "raft" that goes inside costs $350! :scared1: Oh, and by the way, the toaster sized computerized air pump that blows it all up is another $320! :teacher: :scared1: :scared1:

Options are running out, as is time. My choices are very limited if I plan on sleeping on my own bed . . . so there goes $670 all in the name of a good night's sleep. So once I am done catching up, I will find out if sleeping on air is better than water. Sorry for the long post - what an ordeal!

I HATE it when the waterbed leaks!!!!!!
 :scared:

Whine and brag to your heart's content. And if you don't have anything to whine or brag about....make something up! I love a good story ;) .....did I ever tell you about the time Bill Murray thumbed his nose at me?.....

No, you never told us about the time Bill Murray thumbed his nose at you.....spill.....
:surfweb: popcorn:: :surfweb:

Hmmmmmm, do I see a lunch at Rock Springs in my future...or are you heading up there on your day off?

pirate: pirate: pirate:

Did anyone watch Pirate Master last Thurs night???? It's a new "survivor like" reality show by Mark Burnett. I watched it and thought it was great. They really search for treasure on a pirate ship. Can't wait to see it again this Thurs....then again, I'm a reality show junkee!!!!!:hippie: :flower3: :hippie:

I found a friend for Bobby Banana to meet on the cruise. He arrived at our house today along with the passports.

We call him Jack.
 RUN Bobby, RUN!!!! :scared1:

....and long dresses and skirts too!!!
:sad2: :guilty: :sad2:

Oh skirts!!!:sad2:

We have a great store here Marks and Spencer, which has a great range - Per Una. I love the range, but the skirts go to the floor. Only very occasionally do they do a short version, which of course is never in the skirt I want. Sometimes they do shorter skirts so I can get a 'long' length, but then it can be too short!

Well, I'm going to be late for work. Can't wake Tyler up. He came in my room at 6am and told me he can't sleep very well because he's really stuffed up. So I let him lay down with me, thinking he was ready to get up. He fell asleep a couple minutes later, snoring like crazy. I always try to let him sleep extra when he feels stuffy. Hoping to nip that cold in the bud. Will buy some Airborne today and pump him with it. When we do that, the sniffles are usually gone in 2 days. :thumbsup2

I suppose I should at least take my shower and get ready. Then when he gets up, I can throw him in the car and have him eat breakfast on the run and he can get dressed at day care.

Somehow, despite Tyler not waking up until 7:40, I still managed to make it to work at 8:30! Amazing! Good thing too, because tomorrow morning we'll definitely be running late because the show we're going to today doesn't even start until 7pm, so he sure won't be making his 8pm bedtime! I suspect he won't wake up until 9am tomorrow. But that's OK because even if work gets angry with me, I leave for vacation in 4 days! WOOHOO! :goodvibes Heck, I'll even be nice and warn them today that I'll probably be an hour late tomorrow. They'll get over it! ;)

wow - that's great! I managed to get here by 8:30 as well. I used to be at the office by 7...not since I have had children!! And it's very lucky that we live roughly less than 10 minutes from work (so does DH)...I can't imagine all the people who commute long distances. That was a factor for me on my last job offer. Would have added quite a bit to my commute time each day.

Come to think of it, pretty much everywhere we tend to go is within 5 or 10 minutes of our house. (or less)

OK John1 another tale from the "early days" back then I had a water bed like yours (no baffles nothing but a big bag of water) well when I bought the next generation mattress for it the old one got put out on the deck by the pool.
with out a frame, but full of water. let your imagination go with the rest of the story after all it was "the '60s" :hippie: :hippie: do you know how slippery that coconut oil can be:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Watch out Holly You could take this away:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :grouphug:

Grumpy John

Oh man...I could have had a pretzel dog two weeks ago? Bummer.....
Think maybe I'll go on line and see if I'm missing an Auntie Anne's closer to home!

.....I don't do malls.....what's a pretzel dog????:confused3  :confused3

Auntie Anne's is a pretzel shop and they make hot dogs wrapped in pretzel dough...the dough kind of spirals around the hot dog. Sooooo yummmmy, especially when dipped in hot cheese!

HEY ALL YOU DECEMBER WDW VISITORS.....it's bout Advanced Dining Reservation time! The 180 day window hits today for 12/2 arrivals (however, they didn't have the w/o 12/3 'loaded' into this system this morning, so I couldn't make mine yet). Remember it's Mousefest that week, so lots of knowledgable WDW fans will be booking their stuff 180 days out!

I have my ADR's made for the week before, but just want 2 more for our new reservation. We won't be on the DP for these 4 days and will just have come off the ship and hopefully 'fed' up!!!

I am thinking of Fresh at the Dolphin for a nice lunch, but need to think of 1 for our last evening. I would choose Cali Grill or Artist Point, but don't really want that expense. Any ideas? We already have ressies for Le Chefs de France, CP breakfast, Kona Cafe, LTT, Citricos and Raglan Road.
Anyone eaten at Olivias?

Hi Jan, is the Radisson at the airport or near Port Canaveral? We're staying at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach. We have a suite with a private balcony that overlooks the ocean. We usually watch the ship come in and get all excited. I'm not certain of what other hotels are close to the Port. I know our tablemates are staying nearby and we plan to do dinner with them the night before we leave. You might want to get their opinion.

Lisa (LisaG520), if you're reading this....what hotel are you staying at again????
:rolleyes1 :goodvibes :rolleyes1

I need to make reservations yet - should do that tonight. But we are planning on the Radisson. We have stayed ther before and liked it.

Yep - count me in the reality tv junkie club! I can't wait for Big Brother!! though how it could top last summers all stars I don't know.

Jackie, do you know there is an Atlantis shuttle launch planned for the 6th Dec - at 4.30pm? If it goes ahead you will have the best view from onboard!
