Update on the house...

Thank you to all for the pixie dust....the house was not sold today at auction:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1:
We still need to wait and hear what the bank is going to do, but for right now we are set. We will head to auction on June 29th and hopefully the house will be ours:love: ! We went there today and walked around, boy has it fallen apart in the last 6 months. It needs lots of TLC now, but we are ready, willing and able!!!! I'll keep you all informed.

 YEAH! Great news! Congrats! Lisa

Well everybody, I'm off to dinner with a few women from work. There are only 4 of us now instead of 7 or 8 originally planned, but we'll still have fun! :thumbsup2 Have a great evening everybody!

And John1: Please behave.....enough banana talk from you. :rotfl: :lmao:

Hope you have some exciting stories to share after! Dinner with girlfriends sounds wonderful. Soon I will have my Maui time with my sister. Can't wait. Only four nights, but we will start living it up as soon as we board the plane! May 25...oh no. Just realized I will get behind again on DIS! I am actually over 230 pages behind. Still reading it all!
Lisa

hope all is well in Mexico!!!

I called to add on 2 nights to our August trip and nothing is available!! :( no point in going back to work on a Friday!! I will keep trying!

It was 90 here on the way home....hopefully we can enjoy the pool tomorrow...DH and I enjoyed the hot tub last night.

Spending too much on Ebay, I need to start selling off some of the girls clothes to make some $$!!

Happy Friday night everyone!

You would love England, and Wales, Scotland and Ireland if you could get there. We are all so diverse in such a small nation, and the countryside changes dramatically. If you like history of course, we ae full of that!

My DH's dad (who passed away when he was 18) is from England. He was orphaned at age 12, his aunt & uncle brought him up. I have his aunt's diamond as my wedding ring. He went to boarding school in Devonshire. When DH went to law school, I insisted he sign up for one of those study abroad programs. We fly into Athens, took a 14-day cruise around the Holy Land, ended in Rome and then spent 6 weeks taking the train up to England where he studied at Oxford for 3 months. All before kids. I have the best memories of taking day trips, week-end trips. all over England, Wales, and Scotland. Have never made it to Ireland yet. Since then, we have gone back a few times to visit our "old haunts." Just love it. My latest dream is to take First class on Virgin over - that looks like it would be so wonderful!

Talk about a crappy soccer schedule. I have an 8:00 game tomorrow which means we will have to be at the field by 7:15 to set up goals. I still don't know who I made mad to get this schedule. :rotfl:It seems like we have either 2:15 or 8:00 games. I will take a picture of my team tommorrow and show you guys. They are a great team but I am ready to be done.

I did first class on our trip to the UK on Virgin in 2000. I sat at the piano bar, had a massage and a manicure on the plane. I still have my Virgin Atlantic jammies that I wore for "sleeping"

Reminds me of getting up at 4AM to drive to youngest DD's volleyball games...I feel for you!!

I am so sorry your that happened to his family but it sounds like you got a great experience out of it.

Speaking of diamonds. I have my grandmother's setting and when I took it to the jewelers they said I did not want to loose the diamond out of it. Well 3 months later I did. Is our ship going anywhere I could get a good diamond for the setting? I actually have my original wedding ring also that I lost the diamond to also. Don't ask? I used to have a job that was very abusive to wedding rings. I have to go out for a little bit but I will check back on any answers.:goodvibes

Cheri, not sure where the dust storm was as talked to DD yesterday who is in San Diego and she didn't mention anything about dust.

It was just west of Blythe, pretty much all the way to Chriaco Summit on I 10. Nasty!

So jealous!!! But so happy for you. :hippie: Actually, our original 15th anniversary plan (1/08) was to use our amex points for two first class on Virgin. But alas....DCL stole our heart with the Panama Canal trip. We will do the other, some day. I said that about Concorde though and then it went out of business! Lisa

That reminds me that I have the original setting from my DH's great-aunt (my DH took the diamond, re-cut it, and re-set it). That would be so much fun to get something to put in that setting...I know it is somewhere. Argg. This will now drive me crazy! To your question, I am sure there is tons of places for good diamonds. I'll wait for Noel & Karen - they have answers for everything on these things! Lisa

If I were going to buy a diamond, I would get from a friend who is a jewler. If you want the name, I would be happy to pm you.

Have fun Holly.
BTW, am I the only one that attempts to get caught up by reading the last post then reading backwards? Banana talk :confused3  Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't stop here...but of course I'm continuing back to see what I've missed ;)

Now that sounds a great idea Deb!:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Must start thinking about any ADRs we need to make for our October trip really...there will be 11 of us travelling so need to co-ordinate this!:thumbsup2

I finished all our ressies for our Halloween trip, there's seven of us going and everything is done, the car rental, the hotels, the cruise, atlantis excursion, all booked and some even paid for in full. I'm ready to go.

Have a good day Deb, hope your Mum is ok

It was a very nice day, we did lunch after the appointment. Mom weighed 115 one week ago and today weighed 103. Not good. But the doctor caught it, thinks it's bacterial and gave her an antibiotic. Then we did lunch and made her eat. Thanks for asking. We're keeping her under close watch and hopefully can avoid the hospital trip this time.

Friday the 13th got me today.

Daniel and I were on our way to Blacksburg, VA and my car just stopped on the HIghway :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: We were about 1 hour outside DC.

I really do have some wonderful friends. My husband drove out to where we were stranded and brought us another car. My best friend drove out to where I was broken down to pick up DH. We left the broken car there and will deal with it on Monday when I get back.

So now were are safe and sound in Balcksburg and ready for the program tomorrow. I am always amazed how beautiful this campus is.

wow:confused3 its really quiet on here just now.....

Just had a call from dd to ask if I'd actually put her laundry in the washer yet.... turns out she left her college ID card in the pocket of her shorts....that'll be the third new one she's had to have this year!!1:sad2: :headache:

Tell me, does it get better?:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

yes, when she has kids and they do it to her and you just sit back and laugh...:lmao:

Well I'm back from shopping. Had a good day but still not got some nice cropped trousers/skirt! Our fashion at the moment is really lovely, but not suitable for older ladies, and all the shops are the same! I managed to get a cossie cover up and a blouse, but after trying on nearly every skirt around, I came home empty handed and depressed because they are funny shapes, or I am!!!:rotfl2: They are also too long or too short.:confused3 Found a lovely white one, but the undies show through!! Fancied white linen trousers, but they have the same
problem.

....so smart cropped trousers are skirts? I was so wrong, thought it was a pair of capri pants.....a cossie is still a bathing suit right?

Ah well, there is always Monday!!!

More shopping!

Hope you all are having a good day, and that those with problems are getting through them.

It's the weekend tonight and I hope you all have lovely ones planned.

Cheri, that wet dust storm sounds nasty. Enjoy San Diego.:cheer2:

I hope your Mom will do better with the antibotics!!

Pretty good so far!:thumbsup2

I have been battling a sinus infection for a week and usually the meds have helped by now, but it is still pretty bad.

Sorry to hear you have a sinus infection...mine are very bad also, I take an antibiotic called ceftin, I think its generic, and it helps clear it up....already had the surgery once, won't do it again. it only lasted six months then back to the same old...and when they're so bad they give me migrains, I take a muscle relaxer, norflex...really works well.

I slept better, so maybe that will assist with a better day!:hippie:

Mostly it's been further set-backs to our moving our shop... just getting too frustrating for words!!:confused3

that's got to be a huge headache...why not hire some local college kids temporarily to help out with the move. just a thought. hope it goes smoothly and quickly for you.:wizard:

Hope your day is continuing to be wonderful! It's always good to start a day with shopping!:hippie:

I have become addicted to shopping online...I just go click, click and it arrives at my doorstep. I love it!

Karen
