Hi Grumpy John! :) My John, that is Little John, only posted a couple of times as he couldn't stop the notification emails of everyone's posts so got fed up!!! :confused3

you have to open his user CP and change the thread notification to no-emails.

Hi sweetie....now we're DISing across the house.....remember the days when we used to IM across the apartment? We've upgraded and added a few friends along the way....

Guess we're not going to the pool today since we both seem to be busy DISing. We do have to take a pic of Angel later so we can post it here!

LOL! This reminds me of one of Gilda Radner's characters on Saturday Night Live -- hard-of-hearing little old lady Emily Latella.

Emily Latella would give a guest editorial on "Weekend Update", where she would complain about a news item she clearly misunderstood. Example: "What's all this fuss about violins on television? For heaven's sake, if anything there ought to be more violins on television!"

Chevy Chase, anchor of the news, would let her rant a bit and then gently correct her, e.g., "That's violence on television, not violins". Emily would turn to the camera, smile, and say "Never mind!"

In other episodes, she complained about "Busting" School Children, "Canker" Research, "Celery" Caps, Endangered "Feces", the "Eagle" Rights Amendment, Making Puerto Rico a "Steak", and Presidential "Erections."

Anyone remember these classic skits?

Woody

We do! We absolutely loved SNL in those first seasons. DrHug would be literally rolling on the floor laughing.

Absolutely....I remember having a Saturday Night Live party every week with all my friends. We would all watch together and laugh and mimic them. Those were the best Sat. Night Lives ever. Do you remember.....cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger, coke, coke, coke, no pepsi, coke. I still laugh at them.....how about....Oh No, Mr. Bill!!!!!!!:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
I loved Mr. Bill! I often have a private joke with myself because whenever Tyler's bear (Bo) gets dropped or thrown or something, I always say, "Oh no, Mr. Bo!" Of course Tyler has no idea what I'm referring to, but we both laugh anyway!

Hi Jenny,

I always wanted a sister....only have one older brother. pirate: :hippie: pirate:

Bess
Hey Bess! My long lost pirate sister! Arrrrr! I have a step-sister and 2 step-brothers, but no pirate sister until now! ;)

Here is my review of that cruise:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=18888534#post18888534

Still horribly jet lagged...need to do laundry and get a shower so I can get to my parents for bbq tonight. I will post most later. Meeting up with all the disboarders was the highlight of the trip.

Wow Laura . . .

Thanks for the report, I think . . .

Very discouraging to read the bad and the ugly. Two things upset me the most - your comments on the food and on the staff. So sorry to hear about your experience. This was a cruise we had seriously considered booking.

I think it may finally be time to share with all of you (since we are less than a year out) the official Geek cruise mascot. His name is Bobby Banana, and he has been in the DCL Witness Protection Program since our last cruise.

Get to know this face well, you will be seeing a lot of him for 15 nights in 2008 . . . we are taking him to California, and our Geek Friends on the EB cruise will have to bring him back . . .

Laura, how awful that so many unpleasant things happened on your cruise! I certainly hope that with such a high number of repeat cruisers, DCL will seriously listen to the comments I'm sure many people made about the poor service. :sad2: But look at it this way: after all the bad parts of that cruise, our WB PC repo can only be stellar, so please don't give up on DCL yet! :goodvibes

I loved his trip report! Cracked me up!

Well, I trust everybody had a wonderful holiday! The best part for me was having the day off work to spend extra time with Tyler. We drove about an hour to a cute little place called the Treehouse: http://www.thechelseatreehouse.com/play.html, an indoor playground. Played a bit, had lunch there (Tyler was thrilled to have dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets), then played for a LONG time. We had a blast racing each other down the slides together. The slides are FAST and you shoot off the end onto mats on the floor! Too fun!

Then, since the weather was beautiful, when we got back to town, we tried to go to Tyler's favorite park which has a new water feature that he's been dying to try. Unfortunately, they were at capacity and were turning people away. Slight meltdown on the way home because he had "been waiting all cold weather to try the new water stuff", but I finally appeased him by telling him if he stopped screaming by the time we got home, we'd work on setting up his pool today!

So that's what we did. HARD work because it's so heavy! I had to spray it, rinse it, drag it around to get it upside down to try to get all the yucky stuff out from sitting all winter. It had been under a tarp all winter, but still managed to get yucky. Tyler "rescued" all the worms that were in it (GROSS!), kept scooping them up and tossing them in the yard so they could wiggle back into the dirt (YUCK!). Finally got it filled, got the filter hooked up and running, chemicals dumped in, covered up for the night. Hopefully the chemicals will do their job and we'll have a nice, clean pool ready for tomorrow after work! :goodvibes

Yet one more task I wish I had another adult around to help with. It's such thick, heavy rubber and was quite a chore.....BUT a good workout, so that's OK! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the pictues...It looks like you (umm, I mean Black Hearted Pearl) had a blast!

I couldn't believe it when we drove up I-17 to Black Canyon City yesterday. Was Anthem here when you were? It is a HUGH housing development and now pretty much all the land between CaveCreek/Carefree and Anthem has housing developments. Now, the desert isn't totaly developed, but you can no longer find a spot where there isn't some kind of development in your line of sight. The Scottsdale side is even more densly populated now.

We have friends who moved to Anthem about 4 or 5 years ago when it was first built and we visited them about 3 years ago. It seemed like it was the only thing for miles after Goodyear where DD's dad lived.

Beautiful community and lovely homes!

Karen
