DH and I have ours, thank goodness, we renewed them for our first DCL cruise in 2001 and they're still good.

Hi everyone,
I'm just checking in to say that I'm still around, but have been very busy cleaning up from one trip and getting ready for another. I'm in the airport right now, waiting for something to open so I can get COFFEE!

I had to get up at 3 a.m. this morning--for a nightowl like me, that's inhumane! 3 a.m. is more like a bedtime than and wake-up time!

I'm going to be cruising on the Pride of Aloha for a week and diving. It won't be Disney, but I'm looking forward to seeing Hawaii as I've only been there once, over 20 years ago and then just for 2 days.

I'm already so far behind on our thread and will probably get ever further behind while I'm gone, but sooner or later I'll catch up. 'Till then, take care everyone!

Hi Cheri, have a BLAST!!!!! Can't wait to see those pics....

I'm going to go there when DCL takes me and I know they will!!!!

morning!!

John had to run in to work this am....but the pool is all ready to go. My mom and sister came over last night for a cookout. Samantha was all over the place, as great as she was Friday night at the movies she was a total non listening terror last night. I think she was showing off! My mom brought steaks from the Red Barn, they used to be a steakhouse but had a fire and lost everything and chose to rebuild as a meat market only. The filets were better than I have had at California Grill.....really really great and I am sure outrageously priced! I made potato salad, cucumber & feta salad as well as a bean dish - those were mainly for today but we had them last night. Now I am throwing some sands and snacks together to take down to the beach, it looks like a fantastic day outside.

This is an incredible story.....a couple who missed the first 11 day cruise....

What a story! It teaches me to be ever so careful about important papers and such.

Yesterday we took Angel (puppy) to the vet. She weighed 25lbs at 3 months old and she weighs 50lbs now at 4 months old. WOW! She gained 25lbs in one month and she's still just a baby. John said he's going to put a saddle on her and ride her to work soon.

WOW, she's growing fast. It must be time for new pictures!

Didn't see much at the Disney outlet store. I've seen better prices on the on line shop sales.

I did get a tee shirt for my brother in law for this cruise...great color for him and it has Grumpy on it. He needs a little something for those casual shipboard moments and this one has a bit of attitude! Oh, that reminds me, I'd better get his birthday present wrapped...it's a Star Wars watch, hope he likes it.

I have found 2 interesting facts whilst I have been browsing.

We can already book Disney transfers from the port to DL at the end of our cruise.

If you have left over WDW tickets you can use them at DL!!![/QUOTE]

Wow Marilyn, I didn't know this, but it sure will come in handy since I will have World tickets left over when I get to Land. Now I know I can use them and not have to buy more.

Oh...stopped at a farmers market today too. Got some tomatoes that actually have FLAVOR and some sweet corn that is so good you can eat it raw! I had some at the store (never eaten raw corn on the cob before) and it was tasty. Also some big beautiful strawberries. I'm thinking I'll be having a nice lite summer meal tomorrow with all these goodies (if I can keep away from the strawberries tonight).

Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

BTW, at our miniDISmeet with Lucy (lwilliam) and Bob, DH Grumpy John asked Bob if he wanted to join the Lost Beer Boys with him and Bob said yes. Get those lists ready, the party is growing!!!!!

In your introduction on the SHIP OF THIEVES Board you mentioned the Halloween Cruise also and possibly dressing as dwarves. I posted there and will add it here too.

"If you dress as the 7 dwarves for the Halloween Cruise, you might be able to find a Snow White and a Prince from your DIS Cruise Thread friends before your introductions at the Halloween Party. We were Snow White and the King (we are too old to be Princess and Prince) and would have LOVED to have some dwarves. Our Cruise Thread friends were very secretive about their costumes and then on board we could not find each other anyway. It would have been lots better if we had known who to look for. One family was three dwarves and we might have had a crack at a prize if we had planned ahead of time."

Hi Jan, that sounds like a great idea that could have worked well, but we changed it when everybody wanted to be Grumpy and no one wanted to be Dopey....etc. So we're going to do seperate costumes. DH is Captain Morgan and I'm a wench. We'll buy the costumes and be able to wear them on Pirates night for this cruise and others.

Great pics Karen! Wish I could visit! One of the partners at the firm where I work is in CA often doing wine business because he's the president of the Michigan Vintners Club. I'll pass on your shop info to him for his next visit (if he goes to your area....not sure where in CA he goes).

I have mine filled out, just need to get the photos and take it down...I will put that on my "to do" list this week!

This is a good one to check off your list.......it took 17 weeks for ours to come regular service....but they said we applied at the busiest time ever.

What a great story! I'm glad everything worked out for them. They're very lucky.

I haven't done my passport yet and want to get them for our November cruise just in case of emergency, but Tyler's dad is procrastinating on signing his permission form. Plus I keep forgetting to find out if I need to show Tyler's birth certificate to the school at some point before he starts kindergarten, so I need to get moving and show it to whoever I need to at school before sending it in with his passport application (if his dad will ever sign the darn form!).

I think Tyler's dad needs to go with you to apply....you may be able to get noterized version......but maybe you can just drag him to the post office with you and then he can not procrastinate on you any more....

Talk about a horrible experience made special by some amazing people! Really gives you faith in human nature!

I hope that their trip in July is Awesome!! That's when we would have gone, 07-07-07!! Oh well, maybe next time!

The good news is they get to join my Med cruise 7-28!! They are posting on the thread already and they have just started fitting right in!!

Here is a shot of our friends and DD, Ted at the bar on opening weekend!! My sister is the blond on the far left.

Edited to add that the painting behind the bar is called "Four Whites" and we got it at one of the Auctions on our DCL Panema Canal Cruise in 2005!! Disney is with us everywhere!!

The folks from my Sept. '06 cruise still post occasionally on our meet thread from before the cruise, so I see no reason why we here won't do the same, especially with how chatty we all are.

That's a relief!!!! Then we can all plan when to meet up again on another cruise.

It actually says somewhere on the form or in the instructions (can't remember where I saw it) that it's an "either/or" deal. He can either come with us to apply or sign the form and have it notarized. I'd be less likely to get him to the post office with me. It will be difficult enough to get him to have it notarized. Since I'm a notary, I wonder if it would look fishy if I notarized his signature, since my name will also be on the application.

We must keep checking the beach cam! Perhaps we should have asked Lisa to wave at a certain time from under the clock and then we could have seen them!

Will you be anywhere near the clock tomorrow Lisa? If so, what time will you be there? If you go, wave to us and we'll all check out the cam and wave back to you.
