dropping in to say hi & bye...

we saw our pirates at release on Thursday night....

We loved it. There was a cast of pirate look a like entertaining us before the movie.

Last night was Giants game with my Xmas 2005 DCL DIS friend....we lost

Tomorrow we head south to see the mouse. Don't write so much while I'm gone, or do, either way I'll catch you all when we return.

Nan

That is a GREAT photo Nan!

I've lurked on these boards whilst planning this, our first Disney cruise, and was actually motivated to register by another post on the main forum! We are really excited to cruise the Panama Canal, something my DH who is in construction has always wanted to see. My parents will be joining us along with our kidlets, DD 3 (at cruise time) and DS (18 mos. at cruise time).

See ya around the DIS!

Welcome!

All I remember is my pirate name is DIRTY GRACE FLINT. Don't know why I got the "dirty" part of the moniker...I said I bathed daily! :rotfl2: I must be on Capt. Anne's crew!

Mine is Dirty Bess Kidd. No idea why... I do bathe daily
Sniff, sniff.....Peeeuuuu! What's that smell?! :scared1: Oh! It's just a couple of dirty pirate wenches. I think you both need another shower! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I'm Iron Jenny Kidd. Blah.

Well, I am . . .

Captain John Rackham

Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!
They forgot the Spanx!

::yes::

One of those 'reverse' nicknames....like calling a large person, 'Tiny' or 'Slim" :thumbsup2

I'm going to scope out the DVC board and see what's shaking....

Good Night to the West Coast, and Good morning to our friends across the ocean!

BTW - Alex has decided to go to the UK from June 27 (arrives the morning of the 28th) through July 10th. He is flying on Continental from Cleveland to London (Gatwick)- paying about $860 round trip, and it is a direct flight. He is going solo as his friend dropped out on him. He found what appears to be a nice Hostel, and will pay about $35 a night US to stay there. He was originally only going to go for a week, but I told him why not stay longer if he is paying for the flight anyway. I know he is going to email our UK friends for some suggestions on how to amuse himself for almost two weeks in London. He is trying to figure out how much to budget for food and recreation and souveneirs.

Thanks for all your help!

We finally made all the reservations today when his passport arrived in the mail.

Maybe you can check in on the boy for me, and he can have a London DIS mini-meet (but he is not going on the cruise with us).

Hey all...Just wanted to say Hi. I've been busy getting ready for my med cruise, but am still very excited about this cruise. I've been trying to keep up, but you all have been very busy! Glad everyone had a good meet at disneyland. I wish I could've gone. :(
Hope you all have a nice memorial day weekend.
Steph

The last three on the right are Neil Armstrong, Milt Thompson, and my Dad.

Below is a speech he made at the Smithsonian and is really technical, but can be interesting.

Hard to believe it's been 30 years already! I still remember, just like it was yesterday, my dad taking me to see Star Wars right when it came out. He took me to a tiny movie theater in South Haven, Michigan. That's the town my dad grew up in, and his parents lived there until they died, so I spent most of my childhood there spending weekends (and sometimes more) at my grandparents' house (a few blocks from Lake Michigan). But anyway, back to Star Wars, my dad took me 7 times because I loved it so much! :goodvibes And Burger Chef had little pins you could get of the characters....you know I had them all! :thumbsup2 Aaahhhhh.....memories! :cloud9:

Holly,

I think that we had this conversation before, but DH is from Holland, not far from South Haven.

Small world!

OY! I was 16, turning 17 the next month . . .

Time for this old man to get to bed.

Still catching up...

I was also 16 and I remember seeing the movie with my mom and then getting in my folks mustang and slipping into light speed...

Aging myself again.

Welcome. This is a really great bunch of people. Looking forward to meeting you and everyone else!

Well, I booked our room at the Hyatt for the night before the cruise! We will probably hit Orlando around 4PM ish, so will have a nice evening there. Now, WHERE are we meeting for COCKTAILS? :drinking1

Now if I only knew where we are staying in December? :confused3 We'll decide mid June if we should blow off the pending time share exchange and just rent DVC. I may be inverviewing 'renters' soon ;) .

We will be at Disney for the night before the big cruise too - will keep an eye out for you!!!

Hope you get somewhere you want for the days before your Dec cruise.

It is a cold day here today and a bit rainy! John has done some painting and I have been reading the Med blogs!:) :surfweb:

Hope the weekend is going well for everyone and you are having fun. Will be checking out the Bethany beach cam later!
