Yuperoonie! My favorite part of my Carnival cruise in January was having shipboard wireless internet. I loved being able to lie in bed with my laptop and check e-mail before going to sleep. And having my cell phone work the whole trip, even in the middle of the ocean was WAY cool, considering I went without my son. No way would I call anybody else, but it was the first time we've ever been apart for 8 days, so I loved staying in touch with him. :thumbsup2

I hate to be a bubble burster, but just how much do you think DCL will charge for this? If it was reasonable robbery, like they do at Disney property ($9.95 a day) I may consider it, but the Highway robbery they charge onboard now - NO THANK YOU. Kim's bill (for business last cruise) blew my mind. How much was it on Carnival?

I pay $24.95 a month for broadband DSL at home.

Hey, my last post . . . 15751 was a kind of numeric palindrome post . . . does that count for anything? pirate:

Like "Madam, I'm Adam"

A cart full of meat? Seriously? Obviously they are thinking about adding more protien to thier diet:rotfl: Who does that!

and the cashier is a young girl....(not that it's nice on anyone's record) but what a way to start out.

I just bought a 2gb memory stick for $24 on Best Buy, going to pick it up tonight. (that's a good price isn't it?) I had 3 1gb, that I had purchased for the cruise last year and one is missing...although Samantha claims she knows nothing of it, although I did find the camera's rechargable batteries in the drawer of her Ariel beauty parlor....:sad2: Hopefully this will not lead to meat theft! (I know, I shouldn't joke about it!)....

Well, I leave work in about 10 minutes at 2:30pm for class. Have class from 3-5pm. Then pick up Tyler and we can do our yardwork. He'll be thrilled to be outside more on such a beautiful day! :thumbsup2

Don't we all feel better when the spring arrives. Enjoy your outside yardwork with Tyler.

I couldn't remember the cost of internet on Carnival, but I looked it up in my TR:

The internet cost on this ship is 250 minutes for $100, 100 minutes for $55 or you can pay as you go at $.75/minute and there is a one time activation fee of $3.95 on your first login only. The minutes you buy can be used on your laptop or on the computers in the internet cafe. You can rent a laptop for $20/day and a wireless card for $10/day. The internet minutes you purchase can be shared with other guests.

I think I can do without the internet - I like to spend as little time on the computer as possible on our cruises - If I had to do it like Kim did, or if I needed to be in touch with family, that would be different, but I would rather enjoy the ocean. If DCL gave it as a perk I would use it, but I doubt I will miss much more than annoyance from work if I don't.

You win the goofy prize! Yup, you're a nut!

I already have that trophy in my case.

For me it will be to send pics to Tyler every day. :thumbsup2 Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.

Be worth every penny for you Holly. Perhaps you could have a camera at each end.

Can you imagine what it will be like at the terminal next May? We will be excitedly going up to old friends and new ones we recognise from photos. so exciting!

I was just thinking that I hope everyone posts a pic of themselves on the Ship of Thieves website (I'm bad..l haven't done one myself yet) I may have to make a cheat sheet of some kind with everybodies pics, so I know who is who! Or maybe we should all wear name tags.

that would be great if DCL added a photopass!

I just talked to DH...seems he is having to summons the police. A cshier stole money and another employee stole a cart full of meat...my word, what are people thinking?

Let's hope that the invitations to the barbaque weren't already sent out!!!

I am sorry Molly got sick...I think it is so wonderful that you are a leader. Annie is in 7th grade and her leader is so awesome there are still 30 girls in her troop!! They have so much fun. They are now planning a Europe trip...11th grade to Swizerland and London....girl scout hostels in each area.

Can you post a picture of your swap? Do the girls plan and make them? As they get older, you will have do nothing with swaps.....the girls really take them over....I LOVE swaps!!

I'll take a picture of it later this afternoon...shortly we are off to the doctor, Molly has self-diagnosed strep throat....oh well, if it is at least we can rid it with anti-botics.

We started our saving account to travel this year with $1K from the cookie sales....I figure by 8th grade we may have a nice little stash to have a nice trip somewhere. We are only a group of 10. I don't think I could do anymore than that....it really is a lot of work to keep it a good fun learning program.

A Man, A Plan, A Canal – Panama.....please tell me you knew this one :confused3

Deb, love those turtles....Wilson is also a turtle nut. I think I owe you all the "new tank" pictures too. okay this afternoon camera in hand around the house I go.....

Off to the doctors office now.

With Annie's troop of 30 (2 very dedicated leaders...one of her leaders is also a service unit leader) there are 3 girls who are autistic.....Barb just could not not say no to two of them when they started as Daisies. It has added a wonderful demension to the troop. Another special needs child joined this year. Now that the girl's are teenagers, they help with three so much and I think it is a wonderful learning experience for them that the world is not always as perfect as we would like it to be.

How old is Molly? Didn't you say she would be bridging? Is that from Brownies to Juniors?

Again, my hat is off to you for leading!!

I was just playing on disneycruise.com and there are Cat 4 and Cat 6 rooms open. Interesting, hmmm...

I was a girlscout from K-12th grade i bridged to Adults and just got busy with college.

I was in a travel troop from 9-12th grade we ski'd, went on day trips, long weekends all over but for the big trip we planned a trip to Europe we did Switzerland, Austria, Lichtenstein, and Germany.

We went to the Girlscout Chalet in Adelboden Switzerland which was very cool! I have such great memories from that trip!

My mom was my leader until i was in 9th grade.

Oh, look what goodies I found. That is, if you like pirate stuff.

Molly is now a Junior, in the 4th grade.

so yes that Bridging thing....Scouts are changing the age/grade grouping for girls in 2008. 6th graders will be grouped with 7&8 graders as Cadettes, so my girls could bridge next year and be Cadettes at 6th grade. Right after I talked about my plan to have her bridge on the ship as my troop will be walking accross the GG bridge we (my co-leader and I) decided that since the offical change isn't until October '08 that we will wait it out and have the girls finish 6th grade as Juniors and bridge into Cadettes for 7&8th grade. This is a big relief for me since Molly and I really want to bridge at GG bridge.

So thanks to those that said they'd support us at our ceremony, but we won't be having it afterall.

This weekend at camp there was a girl who must have had celebral palsy (sp) she was in a wheelchair. Totally engaged just like all the other girls. I'm so happy to see that Girl Scouts includes all girls regardless of what their situtation is. We all have some kind of issues in our life, some physical, others aren't always seen on the surface.

Got a few pics to download in the office then post to photobucket then post here.....back in a few
