Deb,

You only have 8 lines and 2 graphics, so you are WAY under the limit!;)

whew...last time my picture was that size, i got a warning. but i had more lines. i have the picture coded as thumbnail...don't know why it's bigger? as long as i'm legal, it doesn't matter.

Hope your Easter was lovely!!:hippie:

yes, thank you.

We had friends come up to the Bodega house for a "Monday Supper"; DD and DH made sauted shrimp, garlic crab legs, fresh oysters and I added some artisinal cheeses for appetizers (wine of course).:thumbsup2

Then DD and DH made clam chowder (fresh clams in there as well), grilled artichokes, and sourdough bread for the "main" course! Simple Ice Cream for dessert!

your easter and dinner sounds like it was awesome. wish i lived closer to you!!

Really good, but of course, the kitchen is anialated again!! I have my second dishwasher load going and I have everything prepped for the third load. Finished all of the hand washables as well.

Our friends twin girls are staying with us and DD is holding court upstairs in the loft room!!:scared1:

it sounds like i got rid of the teens and you got them. it's fun but very busy and crazy. and i'm jealous that you have girls. i have two grandkids both boys.....and two nephews, boys. i have a cousin that i'm really close with....he has a boy....my best friend's kid is my godchild, a boy. in my family, we took a picture of all the first cousins at one cousin's wedding. the only girls were me and one other cousin, donna. she was born on my 11th birthday and she has a daughter. that's it. i don't see her as much as my other cousin, doug. donna and i are very close when we get together, but we just don't get to do it often enough. she still lives on the east end of long island. doug just moved to bradenton florida. i'll see him more than i'll get to see donna......so, i'm surrounded by boys and i would love to have little or big girls to hang out with. oh well, next life...:rotfl2:

Calgon, take me away...:scared1:

i always call mickey to take me away....:wizard:

Karen

Are you sure? Watching and reading over the last month, it seems it could be anybody. No male is safe! :confused3

I think it is Larry as well. I found it funny that Hugh Hefner came out with a statement recently that said he is definately NOT the father! Like he was ever in the running.....

I missed that one. I just saw a special on him the other night that was very good.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
I am sure that PJ and John will have comments too........
I must say this group has made me want a mac, but now it is just a matter of finances settling down (I have this cruise I need to pay for!:lmao: ). Also, I do a lot of powerpoint presentations about wellness and weight loss at local community locations and I would hate to lose those by switching out of the microsoft world.

YOU CAN GET MS OFFICE FOR MAC, no need to lose anything! I love Office for Mac. Do you want a desktop? The 17" iMac is perfect starter unit.

Transatlantic translation required please. :confused3 In the UK, Calgon is something advertised that stops limescale building up in your washing machine!

:rotfl: It is a commercial here that is about a soap product which shows a mom after a stressful day sitting in the tub with Calgon. It is an old saying around here.

Somehow, I THINK I would have remembered that!

It is the same thing here - that used to be a slogan on an old commercial for Calgon. I guess because you did not have to scrape the buildup from the washer, you had all this extra time that Calgon would let you get away . . . I Barely remember that commercial. The woman in it would get this dreamy eyed look, and be transported to somewhere exciting or exotic.

That's right - bubble bath. I was wrong. There is a Calgon detergent too though . . .

Yes, I guess you would remember...you are not quite as old as my dear sweet DrHug. :lmao: :lmao:

Does this mean Dennis would not remember, or could not perform? :confused3

Please clarify . . .

Ok we have both in Canada, the one that takes you away is a kind of bath salts with bubbles, and scent. "Take me away" was the solgan.

This ANS baby thing is like a bad novel that you cant finish. The decision is supposed to come up in a couple of minutes.popcorn::

Calgon, take me away!"
In this advertisement, a woman is seen in a chaotic home scenario. As tension rises, she utters her famous line "Calgon, take me away!". The next scene shows her relaxing in a luxurious bath in a quiet room.

Despite being viewed as somewhat sexist (ie. that women need to be rescued from chaotic situations), the commercial is viewed as having been a success since people still remember it even though it has not been aired in many years. Even today, an escape from a difficult day or situation is often referred to as a Calgon moment.

Hi everyone,
Boy, am I behind! I’m only on page 840 and now the DIS is down--will I ever get caught up? I'll type this out now and post it in the morning.

I had a nice trip for Easter and will be leaving in a couple of days for a week in San Diego :goodvibes but before I do anything else I will tie up the “loose ends” I left dangling.

First, the joke:
If April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring?
Pilgrims, of course! :rotfl: (that one was always a hit with the first graders)

Now, about the psychic...
My brother died last August--age 53, dead at least a couple of days before he was found in his home, had been very depressed, alcoholic, separated from wife. Cause of death determined to be “alcoholic liver disease”, but many questions unanswered. The psychic, Ann, was very good--a very normal woman living in a nice normal house in a normal neighborhood in Phoenix. I think my sister got her name from a friend. She spent over an hour with us. I really feel that we had some communication from both my mother (who died 3/03) and my brother. The things we were told (through Ann) regarding my brother’s state of mind, the circumstances of his death, and the just way he talked to us (choice of words, expressions, etc.) were convincing to both of us and for the most part fit the facts that we do know. I cried during the session for the first time about my brother. I don’t want to say that I left there with “answers” because there’s no way to know, but I did leave with some peace in my heart. My sister and I agreed that it was a positive experience for both of us.

Back in May of ‘04, we had a reading by Allison DuBois (the woman that the TV show “Medium” is based on). This was before the show had come out and she was so famous. It was about a year after our mom died. We left there totally convinced that we’d communicated with our Mom. Interestingly, Ann said a couple of things in her reading that correlated with things we’d heard from Allison 2 years ago and something my sister had been told about my brother a few months ago.

Does anyone else have a story to share?

I have two stories to share. Many years ago, I went to a psychic with my cousin's exgirlfriend. we went in back to back. I went after Diane. she told me that the person before me and myself both love the same person, but in different ways. ok, now i'm listening. she told Diane that she would not marry my cousin. In the end, she didn't. she told me that I was going to relocate my home and fall in love hard and fast and get married quickly. I looked at her and said no way, none of that is me. of course, it happened exactly like she said it would at exactly the time that she said it would.

More recently, I went to a psychic fair with my mother and we just sat down in front of a lady. she told us my grandmother was talking to her. she said she's happy and that she still does all of her favorite things, cooking, gardening and dancing. all true, so how did she know that??? then she said that I have a room in my house with all my grandmother's furniture and when I'm in that room, things just keep dropping. I said yes because it's true. she said that's your grandmother with you. she also said that she watches my cousin's daughter in dance classes. I only have one girl cousin with one daughter and she does take dance classes.

I believe there are some real people out there who have a psychic gift and then there's probably even more people who don't but do readings anyway.

Anybody else have any other stories?
