Have to say that the stories you ladies have shared about finding your Prince among the many frogs give me hope  I'm VERY comfortable being single and on my own at this moment (working on getting me all in order), but I know that God knows that in my heart I do want to be married. I just haven't put in my prayer to Him yet of what I want in a man.....will do this when I'm ready, and I know that if it's in His plan, my man will turn up. Other thing I need to keep in mind tho, is that my timing isn't necessarily His timing!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAN!!

Buying our NYC theate tkts this weekend....we decided on 1 show seperately (Mary Poppins for me, Jersey Boys for her), Spamalot, Tarzan and the Color Purple.....hopefully all the tkts will be available (and at the cheaper seats too!).

Hope everyone is having a great day - I'm SOOOOOOO glad today is Friday!

Cheers!

Monica,

Try to stay out of the seats that are up too high for Spam a Lot, better down lower and to the side. The theatre has a really high steep section and it's hard to see all that is happening on stage with the overhead as there are things happening up above it. Also, the seats are REALLY small and tight in that area. DD, who is 6'4" (6'3" if you ask him ;) ) was very uncomfortable.

My DH and I met on a blind date as I had said in a previous post. My evil step-mom and DH worked together so she set us up. The day before our date he called and asked if I liked to fly. Anyone who knows me knows how terrified of flying I am. I lied and told him sure. When I got to the airport to meet the mystery man he was waiting by a little two seat-er helicopter.:scared1: I almost yakked all over the place. How was I going to tell this adorable boy I was not going to get in this mash looking tin can with him? I didn't. I went and we had a blast. He said I white knuckled it through the whole thing. I think he was trying to get me to become a member of the mile high club.:rotfl: We married a year and a half later and I turned 21 on my honeymoon. We will celebrate 14 years this June.:lovestruc

Lori,

So sweet and SO BRAVE!! Getting in a helicopter with a complete stranger when you don't even like to fly!?!?!?!? Heavens!:scared1:

Do you really have an evil stepmom?;)

Karen

You and Shawn share the same birthday . . . . . . . much to his dismay, he turned 39 today. Says it is his last birthday :)

Tell Shawn Happy B-Day! My DD will turn 39 in May so they are very close in age. Hopefully they will get to know each other. I am wondering how DH is going to handle 39? Do you have anything planned for him?

Vast it is - that's why it is "World" instead of just land!

Just checking in quickly before we head out to Epcot and Dinner later in Canada at Le Celier! We had just about a perfect day yesterday. From about noon until 11:00 at MK, broken up by dinner at Ohana which was great!

Lots of people now - very crowded yesterday at BTMRR, and SM. Standby lines were anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour on the major rides, and 15-30 minutes on minor rides. We fast-passed our way around the park while doing things that took little or no waiting, and then came back after dinner and rode the major rides - had fast passes for all of them. No line waiting for us!

Sophia rode all three "mountains" and was sound asleep on the bus heading back to Beach Club. This morning I got up early and did ToT and Rockin' Rollercoaster at MGM and headed back with lunch for my tired family.

Epcot open until midnight tonight, so you won't hear much back from me today.

Have a great day everyone!

Sigh...

Living vivacioulsy through you still!

Here's another romantic story - after tragedy that is.

Yes, Daphne and Peter married just 6 weeks after us in 1969. They were happy, but couldn't have children. After 5+ years, they managed to adopt twin 6 month old girls which was wonderful. Only a few months later Peter developed a brain tumour, successfully removed, but with the complication of a brain bleed. They sorted this in another operation, but he was left blind in one eye and with tunnel vision in the other. His personality also changed and other problems arose - I won't go into them. Eventually after deteriorating slowly he died when the girls were 14/15. She rebuilt her life, went on cruises(they had never been out of the country) and made new friends, and said she didn't want another man!

I can't remember how many years it was, possibly 7, she came accross the mother of her first love who she went our with from age 13 to 16. They got in touch, met up, (he had not long lost his wife to ), and well, they got married.(I think about 8 years ago, memory bad!!) How fantastic is that. He is lovely and they have a great life together! Makes me smile just thinking about it!

Marilyn,

One of those tear and a smile stories!!

Anyone have plans for this weekend? We have soccer on Saturday a 2:15 game which kills my whole day. On Sunday I think we are going to the Point Mugu Airshow. I love that one because it is by the ocean. Then we start spring break so Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday next week we will be back at the beach.

Lori,

Sounds wonderful, even the Soccer!! DD has opted out of Soccer this season, really not her thing. I will probably miss it more than her, consumate soccer mom, I am!!

Just trying to unbury the house!! Maybe a little DISing in between...:rolleyes1

Have a great time!:cool1:

I played all the way from childhood to some adulthood. I always have had that fear of my DD not wanting to play but I really think she enjoys it more than I did. No pressure! I just show her all the articles from high school.:rotfl: No really she does love it and I am fortunate about that. I don't think my little DD will have the same passion but we shall see. If she does not want to do it we will find something else like Karate.

I think you expressed just how I feel about my DH. He is my BF, my dearest companion and if I close my eyes, I can see him just as he looked the first time I saw him. I can't think of anyone else who would be a better friend or companion in life.

AAAHHHHOOOHHHH!!! So sweet!!!

I played from Jr. High through High School as well, at a time when it was really new in California.

DD really enjoys Golf, Bowling and Dance, so we will focus on those and I will go lurk at her friends games...:cool2:

Karen,

Thanks for the heads up! Both my good friend and I love Monty Python and the Holy Grail, so we definately want to get good seats!

Monica,

Just looked up where our seats were. This is the location that we had:

3 Tickets, Center Mezzanine Row G, Seats 101-103

These were on the Aisle as I try to always get aisle tickets due to DH's height. But it turned out that the aisle seat had a bar next to it that made it an even tighter fit!!

Best laid plans!!

I bought them directly through telecharge which is the link from the theatre. I got them about 3 months before we went.

Good luck!!

And, it was one of the best shows I've seen, and I've seen a lot of shows!!

DD, DH and I laughed till we almost cried!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We want to try to go and see it in Las Vegas, if we can get away, next winter!

First stop was - Costa Maya!! This port was one of our favorites. The water was fabulous. Still, not as warm as the Eastern Caribbean, but nowhere near as cold as the Mexican Riveria. Kind of in the middle between the two. Right off the pier is an excellent shopping area with a pool on the beach. Mainly because the shore is too rocky in this area to enjoy the beach. Further in is a larger pool area that has a place to sit and eat/drink surrounding it. The entire area is painted very colorfully and is clean/well maintained. We thought we would just take a ride to a beach here until we came upon a Delphinus hut. Worked a deal for $90 a person to include the beach break and dolphin swim. This was the highlight of the trip for our daughter's. If we had done this excursion through Princess the age requirement was 8 years old, so both Jenna and Kayla would not have been able to participate (and would have cost $640 vs the $360 we paid). We rode in a nice chartered bus the 25 miles to the facility. It is in the middle of nowhere! But it was amazing once we arrived. Nice facilities, great beach, and a pretty good experience with the dolphins. We were able to swim openly in the water with the dolphins, pet them, and feed them. It was really cool. Jenna was a little apprehensive at first after her experiences on the 11day SC cruise. On that trip we swam with turtles at Monkey Beach in Barbados and she was anticipating small little turtles. Well, as you can guess, they are pretty big. She jumped in the water off the boat with a huge eagerness to see them. Once she saw one in the water up close, you could hear a horrible shreak through her snorkel. She then almost literally ran on top of the water to get back in the boat! We also did the Stingray excursion on CC after Barbados, and she was still a little freaked out with the Ray's. Anyway, she showed great courage with the dolphins and had an unbelievable time. Now she wants to go back and tackle those turtles! We also shopped the most at this port. Deals were to be had in the afternoon upon returning from the dolphins. Two dresses that the girls wanted in the morning were $75 a piece. In the afternoon - they were $20! Great deals and they really had some great merchandise. Once again, here are a bunch of photo's:

Finally! A Friday night with no plans, so I can enjoy relaxing at home. :goodvibes I actually plan on being in bed by 7pm! :rotfl: Unless I find something great on TV to distract me.

Exactly!!! That's so nice to hear Karen....I hope it helps Holly. I had set up my life on an individual path and I could stay there and be happy without ever changing. BOOM!!! That's when we met. I was 33 when we met and married.

Holly, How old are you??? How long have you been single???

PS..Karen, our first date was a wine tasting in Southampton, NY, Long Island (where we're both originally from)....can you see why I fell in love....it was April 29th...mid spring...Southampton, East End of Long Island. I lived in a cottage on Shelter Island and worked as a Classified Manager at the Sag Harbor Express...our date was on Sunday and on Monday night....a late night for me putting the paper to bed...I got home and found Johnquills on my front porch...and it hasn't stopped since!
More wonderful details to your sweet, romantic story! :goodvibes Thanks so much for sharing!

To answer your question, I'm 36 (will be 37 in August) and have been single since June or July of 2001 (when my divorce was final). Had a couple short term deals (including Tyler's dad immediately after my divorce), and a couple dates during my pregnancy (Tyler's dad split before I knew I was pregnant), and a couple dates after Tyler was born. Not much time for that with Tyler here and with school.

Quoting me again, DISease is back...:scared1:

The pink cork can carry the Tink glass that Karen found and the pink bottle can wave bubbles....:cutie:

anybody like that idea???:confused3
Yeah, but can I be a bubble? I'm pretty bubbly in real life, so it's fitting! :rotfl:

Well, I met my friend when we did nurse training, and at 19 we wanted to go on holiday. We are talking 1967, so a different age. My friend's mum wouldn't let her go on holiday with her boyfriend, so I was invited. We looked at a holiday in Europe, but couldn't afford it, so my friend's boyfriend said he had a friend at college whose father had static caravans on a site on the south coast and we could rent one. One for myself and Daphne and a smaller one for Peter. Well, John, Peter's friend, then suggested he came along, so we were a foursome. We were all Christians, so it seemed safe enough!! On the last night of the 2 week holiday a very shy John asked if we could see each other again!! We married 2 years later. That is 38 years this year.
How sweet! I just love his adorable shyness! :goodvibes

:goodvibes I started getting slightly hooked on Alejandro. But I'm glad I found out everything early. I just feel sad for his wife so far away. With him being so far away from home, I'm sure it's not the first time and won't be the last time he does that. :sad2:

Don't you just hate guys like this.....YUCK!!

Hey Holly, I was thinking....maybe you want to join me. One of the ways I am trying to get rid of the 27 pounds I want to get rid of (13 gone....14 to go) is pledging not to drink anything with calories. I notice, you will sit down with a beer in front of the TV....nice and relaxing.....I do that as well. But I pledged to myself NO CALORIES in anything I drink. Iced tea and Water mostly. I don't like diet soda....

Let me now if you want to join me!! YOu are doing such an awesome job of working out!!

I think we are going to open up the Beach house this weekend in Bethany Beach DE. I called the plumber to fill the pipes. I think the threat of freeze is over!!

Think I will ride down in the morning.
