Annie is home!! She got home at 10:00pm with her dad.

Thank you so much for the offer. I have been just crazy. One of the adults got sick before they left so 2 adults took 40 kids :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: They say now 8 of 40 are sick with a fever of 102 or higher. My DH brought home Annie and her best friend. He left the other 6 sick ones there for the teachers to deal with. He had his hands full with the two sick ones.

She was in Tampa for the first three days of the trip. That is where Don got them. They will move to Orlando tomorrow for the last three days. The first day she threw up the whole day. The second day she stayed in the hotel all day sleeping. One of the two teachers could not stay (as there was only two of them) so the travel company brought in a someone Annie had never meet before to stay with her and the other two sick ones. That stinks. When I finally got her on the phone, I asked if she could get some Over the Counter Meds for Annie...she said no...she did not have transportation. I said Annie had plenty of cash for a cab and she really needed something to help her. No Luck.

I am so mad at this whole incident. I have been writing a letter to the principal in my head al afternoon. Of course, that might hurt my daughter, if I critize what a terribel job they did with this.

This is the 5th year this school has done this and the first year a child had to go home sick. They have never planned for this.

Glad she is home safely, but what a horrible experience, and what poor planning. What are the other parents doing?

Hope your other daughter is OK too.

Fittings will be held in Studio Sea, midship, right after the lifeboat drill!:lmao:

ewwww gross, no fittings for me.....I'll bring my own unmentionables rather than have to have a fitting...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm so glad Annie is home!!! Those poor kids...to plan a trip and have no control over how their bodies are behaving.

It sounds like her school had a very good run with no sickness, but it's surprising to me that when 2 of the 4 chaperones were unable to travel that they didn't then scout out replacements. I'd guess a parent or two would have volunteered. To leave the kids at a hotel with a total stranger as a chaperone??

Good luck with the letter...if you want to share, I'd like to read it.

I am paying for internet service in the room at Beach club Villas, Got here about 1:00, and the room wasn't ready so Sophia and I went for a swim in Storm-a-Long-Bay. She likes that waterslide too - but the water is over her head at the bottom!

No fear though, she wants to do it without the vest, and swim to me at the rope! After checking in and unpacking, we went to Animal Kingdom for a couple of hours, and then to Boma for a Great dinner.

Watched the Epcot fireworks from our balcony, and now just chilling before a full day at Epcot and Animal Kingdom tomorrow. Can't wait to see Vanessa and Family on Saturday!

Ahh, we are so jealous! We love Beach Club Villas! Your description brought back memories of our last visit there in September.

achoooo! makes me wanna sneeze....very cute kitties but I'm totally allergic. My DD is very sad about this, alas no cat in our lives.:sad2:

dogs we go those ::yes:: ....rabbit yup ::yes:: ....turtle got ya covered ::yes:: (yes allergic to the dogs and rabbit too but not as bad)
I'm allergic to them too - love Zyrtec D. (Also allergic to dogs and horses)

How do I explain to my husband that I don't have to pack my unmentionables, because some guy named John is bringing them??

Carolyn

Yeah, just tell him a "John" is bringing them . . . that's the ticket . . . after all, you have to pay for this cruise one way or another! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: OOPS! Well, this is getting too silly.......I'm off to bed before my laughter wakes poor coughing Tyler up! Not sure he's sleeping all that well anyway by the coughing I'm hearing coming from his room. Too bad he absolutely has to go to daycare tomorrow. If I miss another day of work, my paycheck won't cover all it has to this pay period. :scared1: So off to work I go, with a huge smile on my face to counteract the effects of all the piles I'm going to see waiting on my desk for me. :guilty:

Goodnight all! I'm sure I'll be working very late every day the rest of the week to try to make up for the hours I missed yesterday and today, then to the gym afterwards, then I can come back to play here!

I guess I am lucky as my DH is named John....

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

But, then, it would be, "Noel's husband, John, is bringing my underwear!" Not a conversation that would ease us into vacation mode...You all would have to meet me at the dock, drinks in hand...so much for Designated Walker status!

Carolyn

I think you did absolutely the right thing. I too would be writing a letter to the school telling them just exactly what you have told all of us. The school should have had a back up plan in place. We never, ever took a field trip with my daughter's class without at least 4 or 5 parents going along on the trip.

Just my two cents.

Noel
I second that. Just because nothing like this has happened in the past doesn't mean it won't ever. There's a first time for everything and they should always be prepared when taking responsibility for all those children.

Stop! I'm laughing out loud and he's waiting for his computer...I really need to relinquish control here. Geez, now it's, "Honey, one of my Johns is bringing my underwear!"

Awww, come on.....you just need to ship them ahead. Easy as pie! And imagine the look on whatever worker's face opens that box to inspect! :rotfl:
