Hello.... Long time lurker seldom poster.. My wife (Plutosmom)Has posted. Am Booked on this cruise and have a question for any repeat panama canal cruisers....Does any one know the soonest one can get to LAX form the port? Or how early can one safely book airfair. Looking forward to meeting all of you!!!
Terry

Check out cruisecritic.com. Click on discussion board, then west coast departures. There is a lot of useful info there. From what I have read, it can take anywhere from 30 mins to 1 hour depending on traffic.

Does anyone know when the excursions will be available to view? :confused3
I know we can't book until so many days out but I sure would like to be reviewing info to make my decision by now.

Thank you for all the welcomes!!! I have pm'd poohbear, I can't wait to see all the good info.

I think that we are going to stay some extra days, I have never been to DisneyLand...Can you believe that:scared1: What are some nice hotels to stay in the area or in Disney? Hubby has to fly home, but it will be the boys and I.

All of the Disneyland Resort hotels are great. I like the Disneyland Hotel the best, although Grand Californian is closer to the action. For off property, we like the Best Western across the street because it's just a short walk across the street. It isn't too bad and is very reasonable. It is called the Park Place Inn. Parking can be a struggle, but it's free. I don't know if the shuttle system has changed there, but shuttles are/were $3 per person per day. Thanks to the City of Anaheim.:sad2: The hotels used to have free shuttles, but I think the City wants a piece of the action. You can book some off property hotels using GetAwayToday. It is a dot com company, good for DL bookings.

I love Disneyland. I have been going there since they had 'live' mermaids in the submarine lagoon. LOL It has been great seeing all of the improvements and changes. WDW is best overall, but DL, to me, has MK beat. You don't have to walk so far between rides. AND they have all of the same stuff, with a few differences. DL doesn't have the flying carpets, for instance. ToonTown is much better at DL, and so is IASW. Aw, I could go on and on about the place, but I am biased. Well over 200 trips there in my life. (without actually working there).:goodvibes

. . . So, I'm not sure what to think, but all I can say is DON'T TOUCH your DIS account if you don't have to. You really can't get anyone to help you when something goes wrong. The last three days have been awful because of the lack of help.
. .
That's good advice, Lisa.

I went to lunch with a co-worker and were discussing her two week cruise to Alaska...she said she only took $500 cash with her. I am guessing we'd need cash for:
excursion food/drinks/tips/cabs, etc
tips at the port

DL will take cc....
what else would we need cash for?

We hardly ever use any cash so take very little. Most places accept credit cards. We used cash for a coke at a Burger King at St. Martin, some beer at St. John and one time for some handmade jewelry from a sidewalk vendor.

She's so cute...and looks like she's having a blast!!!

Cute! That is what I think she is too! So, I question when do we get cute again? :confused3 Little kids are cute and old folks are cute. I'm thinking it's somewhere around 80 when I started thinking of her as cute!

Bobby and I drove to Valparaiso today for a funeral, 2 1/2 hours each way. We stopped to see the Monon Connection, a Railroad Museum just north of Monon, Indiana. Amazing collection of old RR cars and signs set up on real track and a cute little restaurant.

Bobby hardly stood still, he was running all over the place. He was hard to keep up with, and harder yet to understand with that Columbian's accent of his. People did not know what to make of his utterances and I had a hard time translating everything. He is easier to understand when he is not excited. He and Tyler will have a ball and give Holly a "run" for her money.
