Kelly (milestogo) has graciously offered to take over organizing the upcoming So Cal DISmeet. I've emailed her the names of those of you who have PM'd me, so she has the interest list and will be contacting you as soon as the details are finalized!

Thanks Kelly!! :thumbsup2

Please post here when you all have selected a time and place. I may be able to build a business trip around it...so I'm just waiting to see where/when you choose!

.

It's the car journeys I remember!!:scared1: 3 children in the back who couldn't touch each other accidentally or else world war 3 broke out!! What fun!!!!!:headache:

quit touching me, I'm not touching you, stop it, MOMMMMMMMMMMM....Oh the wonder years. When will they end. Just kidding. I know this time is so sweet and gone so fast. I'm just sucking the marrow from them now while they are here. Hence the reason for this cruise.

Bad news, Paul just lost a big client. They hired an in house GC. It's not really a suprise, but a pisser none the less. Small company Paul has worked for them for 3 years, negogiated all contracts (150+) to signature close and since the last quarter when they brought in a new CEO he has been walking on eggshells over this. It just sucks sometimes to work with companies when they are small and they need your flexiblity (that means our payments not always timely in the lean cash times for them) and now that they are bigger they boot you out. Paul is having lunch with the old CEO (now chairman) tomorrow, but the deal is done, so not much to say but sorry :confused3 your screwed.

Vent over. Time to figure out where to get some more billing for my DH....Fortunately he just got 2 new clients yesterday but they are small one shot deals, not monthly contract review like the other one. Oh well...

I think the life boat next to ours is empty. I would invite you to share ours but we already have about 10 women. The men have their own.

fess up Gydell, you are just worried that your suitcases won't have a lifeboat and you aren't offering anymore out to anyone :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: come on now you guys can't have THAT many shoes do you?????:lmao: :lmao:

Well I'm off to have dinner with Cheri (NotSoLittleMermaid)...

you know we're gonna talk about ALL OF YOU!! :lmao:

that's one of the most expensive I have seen, aren't they usually around $125 or so?:confused3

ok I may have rounded up, but after pictures it was close to $1K for us.

On our cruise one of them is listed at $189/pp!

Now I'm curious, I'll research it and see what it really was and get back to you.

BTW, whatever its cost it was PRICELESS. Taking our kids to swim with the Dolphins over Xmas break was the best place we ever could have been.

They felt like swimming hairless big dogs....so warm...so strange....so wonderful.

Nan - sorry to hear about DH's client. The way things are closing up here has me a bit worried!

Kaylee, I would book Palo first - unless there is some exclusive excursion or spa treatment you want.

What night is everyone doing Palo? and brunch?
Usually we have a DIS coordinator who can tell us our rotation and what not!

Forgot about suitcases. I mIght need another lifeboat!

Kayla's appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon was rather uneventful. He looked at the xrays and said "And why are you here?". Actually, this was the best question we have heard in awhile. Great news. We had been worried all week about her having to go through surgery. Lost time and costs can't be recovered, but the peace of mind is wonderful. Her arm has healed perfectly.

While waiting in the doctor's office, we realized we haven't made reservations for our arrival in Orlando. Where is everyone staying? Going to try to see if we can get into BCV, but at this time likely too late. Probably end up at SSR. Our flight doesn't arrive until 5pm on Friday anyway.

Ok, my dgs has a shool project that I could use help from some of you. They are studying maps and have a gingerbread man that has run away. His teacher would like people from all over to send in postcards saying that they saw him near their house. They will then locate and post where he was seen. If anybody is willing to send a postcard please let me know and I will pm you the address. They need the name of the city and state or country.

Glad it healed perfectly and you can stop worrying about that! :grouphug:

glad to hear she is ok!

there's a few of us at SSR!

I agree...but I'll admit I was shocked when I saw how much it cost for all 4 of us to the dolphins. I figured it would be about $850 or so once you add in the pics. But in the end DS decided he wants to do the sea lions, so my boys (and DH) will do that while I'm off doing the zipline. (The sea lions are cheaper than the dolphins for whatever reason.)

I went to lunch with a co-worker and were discussing her two week cruise to Alaska...she said she only took $500 cash with her. I am guessing we'd need cash for:
excursion food/drinks/tips/cabs, etc
tips at the port

DL will take cc....
what else would we need cash for?

Souvenirs, photos, post cards

Good news. :goodvibes

Thanks for the well wishes. I just got a call from DH and he closed a small round of financing for another client, so that is good news. Maybe he just need to drop off this old client to move towards other things. Looking for the silver lining here.:rolleyes1

Yes me too for the long run. I hate to have to think that I might have to work full time. I've just keep my fingers into my work since the kids came around never really stopped because I always feel uneasy. I wish we had a money tree in the backyard that would take care of college and retirement, oh well, in our next lives I guess.

Are you offering to coordinate our Palo's night V??? I hear a spreadsheet calling your name... :rolleyes1

We're in, just let me know what ya need. Kinda sounds like a Flat Stanley without the Stanley??? I have a few local (san jose) cards in hand from our scout troop. We do an annual postcard project, just this year we made the last of our 50 states :goodvibes
