Hello everyone, from a very poorly feeling 'thief'

Just on for 5 minutes to cheer myself up after a horrible time. Thanks to you all for the good wishes and prayers and messages

On Friday morning I woke up feeling very unwell, with the stomach flu. Mid morning I blacked out with the pain (poory dh very worried when he couldnt reach me by phone and drove home luckily!) and then ....well, you don't need any more details, suffice to say Mark took me to our local hospital's Accident and Emergency and I spent the day on a drip having tests. A nasty bout of gastro-entitiritis with an infection apparently...yuk!

I know I need to lose weight but not this way please!

Anyway, I'm home being fussed over, and at least I have holidays to dream about eh?

Well, it looks like I'm finally getting my summer vacation finalized. Chicago sister and I will meet for five or six days in Breckenridge, CO in August. Looks like I won't be using time share points for this, so there will be some points left from last year that I will have to use up. Hmmmmmmm. let's see, there's Peacock Suite in ANAHEIM as a possibility. Gee, a DIS MEET in the spring with 'free' lodging means I could hang out for a few days at Disneyland Aren't some of you folks heading that way in May?

OH, so sorry to hear this. Gastro-enteritis is nasty and very painful. DrHug had that and was admitted for 3 days. First 2 days he was so sick he did not care about anything. The third day he started grumbling about the tube in his nose so I knew he was on the mend. Glad you are home and being fussed over.

We came up to Reno on Friday to see the Spinners on Saturday night and for everyone to ski at Squaw Valley. Learn something new everyday! It is gorgeous, although my kids wish for some more snow! Lazy day in Tahoe...funny we are from the same town and now are vacation in the same area! Although I think half of Woodside come up to Tahoe over this week!

Snow is terrible this year. Everyone is complaining. I think every President's week in full of Woodside residents. Wonder why Buck's or Robert's even bothers staying open!!!

has anyone thought about a budget for this cruise? I mean, do you normally just double the weeks expenses?
At least I won't have to pay for Flounder's this time around! and damn...the Gators are about to lose.

I think I always spend too much on the cruise. There seems to be "something" I must have that I didn't plan on. What I do is go day by day and try to figure out what we are going to do. If it is a sea day than spa is my weakness. I plan my shore excursions prior to the cruise. I expect to spend a healthy amount of drinking (cocktails and wine at dinner) and of course, Shutters costs for photos. I am not buying many souveniers as GK's will have cruised with us a few months prior.

Then I budget whatever I think I might spend, then double it. Since there are more sea days on this cruise, I am afraid I will be spending WAY TOO MUCH time in the spa!!

I got lime green lei's for the last cruise if everyone wants those I will be happy to contribute. We can get them at the port and wear at sailaway.

What a terrific idea! Any idea on the cost?

Judging by the traffic going out of town, half of the bay area went up to Tahoe!!

It is glorious here as well 77 yesterday and around 70 today! Wish we had gone to our place in Bodega Bay, but it is booked for the weekend.

I hate to drive on holiday weekends so we try to fly if at all possible. DD and her family drove with all the ski stuff so all we had to do is bring our stuff for the concert. I am here til Wednesday night and DH flies home on Monday night. DD and family will drive home late Monday night as they want a full day skiing on Monday. The kids will sleep or watch videos in the car and they take turns driving.

we're going to head out to Dland early tomorrow so the rest of tonight is packing and laundry (ok not in that order)

I'm freaked out to see how many pages I miss while I'm gone...shall we have a pool, with the winner getting bragging rights? 4 full days....hmmmm I guess 33 pages....bring it on....

Youngest DD is graduating from University of San Diego last weekend in May so I will be down in San Diego which is a hop, skip and a jump from DL.

I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better and that your DH is taking such good care of you. Maybe Aunty Brat will be a "peach" and give you a special update so you don't have to go back so far!!

Oh Vanessa . . . it is still in the teens here and we got about anohter 3-4 inches of snow last night. My blower has a cracked chute on it now, so it takes me longer to get the snow cleared, and harder to get on top of the piles along the driveway. The sides of the driveway are now about two feet high . . .

Steve and I are thinking about staying at DL for a few days after this cruise. Is there DCL transportation from the port to Disney resorts? If not, how do we go about doing this?
