She was on vacation for a few days ya know, just because I blew off another day to entertain you all someone here has to work.

okay, now where were you all day, I need to know too????

same answer some bad stuff pissed me off and then I cleaned the house and then I was busy with some secret stuff! ;)

My friends and family are really worried about me. My sis asked today if she would see me on the cruise, because she is lurking.

OMG so she reads all the crazy but says nothing? That my friend is even more crazy. STALKER!!!!!

and last post for the night did you all just realize I had 20 posts in a row from me????? I am all caught up now and off to sleep til 7am. Will catch you all in the daytime and will not be so dang far behind this time! :)

I was thinking of wearing my formal dress twice. Is this horrible? I have another one but I'm worried about packing, plus one is way cuter than the other one. I am wearing a party dress for semi formal night because I want to wear it and I think it is too fancy for a regular night.

I think you should wear the dress on one formal night. And Cindy should wear it on the other.

Yes, It was an April Fool's Joke, Connie:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

oh, I crack myself up!

:lmao as I forgot it was April Fool :sad2: wish I text Alison to tell her I got the upgrade damn lol.

The luggage did not arrive, and British Airways cannot locate it.

Our friends bought what they could yesterday and this morning, but it doesn't come close to replacing what they originally packed.

Another thump down British Airway:sad2:

wow, substitles lol, I listen it and watch it :thumbsup2

I do believe that is the plan. Not sure about the Tetanus, but I do know it's been awhile since I ahve ahd one so more than likely.

About two months ago, I went to doctor for Tetanus and she told me that I already had it about 5 years ago, problem is I cannot remember it :confused3 also nurse told me don't need injection for Mexico as she followed the rules of the Cruise. We didn't get it at all?

Marilyn - what about you ? did you both get an injection or not?

You know, I am looking at it again and for some reason it reminds me of Dick Tracy-- with the yellow overcoat and all.

You it does look like Dick Tracy. I probably won't name it that though, even though it would be very good.

Might cause some raised eyebrows to those who don't know what I'm talking about. Especially if it only referred to by the first name.

Once again, no time to catch up, but just when we thought Monday was bad enough, Tuesday came along . . .

Sophia and I were in a minor accident last night. We went to Value City to (of all things) buy my brother underwear (non-bedazzled) and take it to the hospital. We were stopped at a light to, turn left. A car came up behind us and hit us going between 5-10mph - jolting us pretty good. I got out of the car to take a look at damage, and a young, African-American kid with loud rap music playing motioned to me to pull over in a parking lot. I said no, and as I walked back to the car to call 911, he pulled around us and took off up the street. I got his license plate.

Funny - I focused so much on the kid and the license plate, that I could not even remember the color or make of the car (and I am usually good at those details). Had I been really thinking, I would have used the camera attached to the phone on my hip to take a picture.

We waited for the police for about 20 minutes, and another 1/2 hour to complete the report. What a day.

Still not sure what is wrong with my brother, they gave him two more units of blood yesterday - total now 5.

I wonder what Wednesday will bring?

I think we should have a contest on board... "Name Ian's Car... Win a Drink"... you'll have lots of entries...

Not a bad idea, though I have rather exotic tastes, especially in names. The dogs are name Tallulah Bankhead, and Truman Capote. Our poor doggy who now sleeps with the angels (OK she was 18 years old) was named Jane Austen.

Better be careful... he may do the leaving!!!

Unlikely. He doesn't know how to drive. Though he is scaring me as of late. For the first time in 21 years, he's shown some interest in a car. This has never happened before. The other day the conversation turned to the Smart car and he referred to the model names. My mouth almost dropped open.

Ian...you're going to get us all thrown out of Palo!!!

That's the whole point, isn't it???? Wouldn't it be great to get thrown out of Palos? Just think of the buzz it would create. Just think about the post cruise buzz on the boards!!

You know, as Oscar Wilde said, "The only thing worse than being talked about, is not being talked about."

He also said, "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars."

Cars

A bit of a turn up for the books today.

When I got home last night there was a voice mail from the Smart dealer. They had an orphan available for me.

I had just been in this past Saturday and put myself on the secondary waiting list. I do have a normal reservation, but was facing a 1 year wait for a car. The dealer secondary list is for "orphans" cars ordered, but the person changes their mind.

I phoned today. They had a car come in yesterday, and the person who ordered it decided that they did not want i, they wanted a convertible instead.

Amazing thing is that it is the color I reserved and the options I reserved (not that a Smart Car has many options). It did have the upgraded sound system which I did not want and does not have the security package that I did want.

So, I pick it up my orphan this coming Saturday.

I'm feeling a bit stressed out because I was really preparing to be waiting either a few months or so for an orphan, or a year for the car I reserved.

Still not quite sure if I'm excited or in shock.

Cool!

Take some pictures, and hope you don't get rear-ended in that powered roller skate!

Our TA just received our DME vouchers, and she'll send them with the DCL stuff when it arrives in three weeks.....WOW....that means it is getting real close

John, I have had three accidents, all from behind and all while stopped at lights....You did the right thing by not pulling over, as proved by him taking off that quickly....I keep forgetting about my cell phone camera as well...hope the damage was slight and you and your daughter are OK

Hope you have no after effects of the bump John and Sophia. Good move with your not pulling over for the lad.

How is your brother feeling after all that blood?

Deborah, we haven't had any jabs but may ask the nurse when I go for my annual blood pressure check up whether a I need tetanus booster. Trouble is I think I might be over the 10 years.

Glad you and Sophie are ok. Did they get the guy? It seems like when it rains it pours. Hope today is better.

Wow! What a story. I am glad you guys are alright. I think you did exactly the right thing by not pulling over to the parking lot. There are alot of crimes that begin with the bumping of the car, and you had great presence of mind to not fall for it. I just hope that any damage to your car is repaired and this person is cited for hit and run.

I am WAY behind. Not done with Thread 7, read none of Thread 8 and only 14 pages of this one.

If someone has answered already, could you please post again and I will try to follow from here on? Or PM me?

What is the web address for the place where you ordered pins for trading?

THANKS!!

Jan :earsgirl:

I am trying to keep up with the thread but even with my super human DISing skills, I lag behind.

Yesterday I had to take my son to see a pediatric cardiologist because he had a abnormal EKG. His blood pressure has been running high ever since his Dad died, I just assumed it was stress induced, but a "variant" EKG that the Dr. ordered sent us to see a specialist. He had an echocardiogram, which turned out to show that his heart is normal. WHEW!! This last year has been the hardest of my life and I am so glad that this was not another mountain to climb. I am worn out.

The grand jury will be meeting in May to look at all cases that they have to do. My husband's accused murderer will be one of those cases. I have a meeting with the DA on Friday of next week to go over the case and talk about the death penalty and all that. If convicted, this would be this person's third conviction for armed robbery.

I have always had mixed feelings about the death penalty and I am talking to my son about it, he feels that death penalty should be considered. This is all pretty overwhelming to me. It is one thing to be pro death penalty or against death penalty, but when you are faced with a situation like mine, it is a little harder to be pro death penalty. I mean this is considering an actual death and not just a theoretical death. I think about his family, who are most likely just innocent folks, maybe he has kids, a mother, siblings.... They have lost him to prison for the rest of his life for sure if found guilty, it is another thing to face the death sentence. I don't want to start a whole death penalty debate or anything, it is just something that I have to really think about right now.

None of this will be my decision for sure. So I am trying to think how my husband would have felt about it. In the few comments that I remember him saying about similar subjects, I believe that he would have said that people have to face up to the consequences of their actions, whatever they may be. This is how he lived his life. I am going to use this philosophy as my guide.

Sorry to post such a serious subject on a fun thread, I guess I just needed to vent a little. I am glad we will be out of town during this time as the media will most likely be trying to contact us for comments, pictures and so forth during the whole time it is on the "news". Thanks for listening...

Okay, back to the fun cruise planning. :)
