Oh I used to live right behind the Dominic's on Broadway (just above Diversey). We had a great town house there...and some fantastic parties! AND there used to be a Brown's Fried Chicken near there too. We'd go buy a bag of the previous day's leftovers for a discount....yummy!

Now that my company is gone, I can start my 'cruise pile' in the TV room...time to dig all the stuff out of the closets and suitcases and see what needs to be supplemented (check expiration dates on medications, etc).

OH BY THE WAY.....have I mentioned I've lost FIVE pounds! I'm shooting for another 12 by cruise day.

Not too sure about being closer to you as the East coast is at the moment 4 hours behind us and tomorrow they will be 5, which is the usual difference. I give up on you Arizonians though!!!

So what are we going to do with this wine deal? Blow it off and pay the big $$ onboard or try to get it in town on Fri? I'm pretty sure my friends don't have a car big enough for all of us, so I don't think we're leaving the hotel property for dinner that night. We get in around 4:30 and I think we'll only have enough time for dinner. Wonder if at the hummer stop there's a liquor store nearby? How can we find that out?! What a drag!!!

Do you mean the day you arrive in Orlando? Are you staying at a hotel at the airport or at WDW? or at the port? I live between the airport and WDW, so I could help you out by taking you to the ABC liquor or to BJ's or walmart if you need some liquor.

I am sending out a general plea. If anyone has room for one more person (me!) for any of the Palo brunches or dinners, please pencil me in. Even if this occurs after the cruise begins. I booked just a little over a week ago and I don't have hopes of booking this and even if I could, I would feel silly going alone. I am currently sleeping in the lifeboats, lol, but if you want to add me to your maybe list, when I get a room number, I will pm it to you. If everything else fails, I am going to try to get a table for two for something and invite anyone who wants to join me for a meal at Palo.

We can take 2 big suitcases each this time and I am still worried I won't get everything in! More 'dressier' things for the cruise will make a difference. Seem to need more toiletries and 'just in case' items too.

We have a friend we went on a week's holiday with once, and she managed one suitcase with about 15Kg(33lbs app). But she had one pair of shorts, a couple of tees, 3 bathing costumes and 7 dressy items for meals out!!! I had a full 21Kg allowance(46ish lbs) and had loads of tees, shorts etc and a couple of dressier items.

If I remember correctly, most grocery stores have a liquor store right next to it.

V....Monica....other FL natives....what time do the liquor stores open? We'll figure something out.

When I was with the DIS group in December 06 the Hummerzine stopped at a Publix closer to WDW then PC and there was a very large wine and liquor section there. I mean very large, almost as large as the liquor stores here in Ontario. And our stores are government run and about 75,000 square feet.

Absolutely! But I think I read that all the groups are full. I just wanted to try to get an alternate spot in case anyone drops out. I would like to do Palo at least once. And since it is just me and the kids, I really don't want to go alone. I would feel funny.

When the group brunches and dinner come through I am sure you can get something since all of us holding a ressies have to choose between the group or our own.

It's a quiet morning here, the weather is way below normal at 63 degrees with partial sun and drizzle rain ??? I'm off to meet the girls at DL, then Karen and her crew at DTD for Beignets then back to prep for a big garage sale with a fellow disser in Carlsbad tomorrow. Busy weekend.

Who is renting a car in California? Will the Car rental be opened? Is there one close to the port?

I'm going to be at the port next week, so I'll check the cab situation, shuttles, car rentals etc.

Sitting here tonight watching the dance along HSM2. The dancing in this is actually pretty impressive when you watch them break it down in slow motion. I could barely keep up when they did it in half time...I just sat down for the regular speed since Taylor was laughing at me too much!

Tammy, you are on the list. We have requests in for five or six brunches, which could cover any where from 60-84 people. We have 55 on the list as of now. We will let those on the list know of the request results approximately April 14th or when DCL lets us know, we will also let you know when you are invited to the Palo private room for brunch .

As others post, I wouldn't worry about it. We also have several single travelers (including single parents) on this cruise so I'm sure you will find a buddy to have a Palo meal with, and perhaps the group one as well! If you put your name on the waiting list when you get in, if they call you can use the mini-navigator to call around to other DISers. I don't think it would take but one call to get someone to come with you! Hmmm...I'm wondering if this is a little note that would be good on our mini-navigator: a list of those that would like to join others for Palo meals? That way if anyone has a reservation by themselves, they know who to call? Or we can just start a list now! Where is Mom323 - got another list idea for you!

I'm going to be at the port next week, so I'll check the cab situation, shuttles, car rentals etc.
