I need to stay away from those wine clubs. $100.00 is the most I'll go! Then they sit in the wine rack until a special occasion!

not even club wines. Paul loves port, so before we were married I made a habit of buying bottles to set back for him.

We also got some as a wedding gift.

I went snooping to see what it would run to replace them, can't touch what I bought 15 years ago at $150 a bottle is now $350+

I brought home a couple of bottles of wine from france last year..oh and a couple of bottles of limoncello. No problems with breakage. I wrapped them in my clothes and put my books in front and behind. It is a concern, but does tequilla stain? I can wash can't I?

You can wash tequila but not port.

Good to know...I think OKW has washing machines so I'll take my chances for my dissers. I might as well get rid of it. It'll never get used here! BUT my limoncello..well thats all MINE MINE MINE!

ahhhh grasshopper good idea....

Nan... grasshopper is a drink... but you knew that already didn't you!!! :lmao:

I intend to be completely overdressed at all times. All I'm going to wear is formal wear.
.

That bow tie go with your bathing suit??? It does now...

Cars

A bit of a turn up for the books today.

When I got home last night there was a voice mail from the Smart dealer. They had an orphan available for me.

I had just been in this past Saturday and put myself on the secondary waiting list. I do have a normal reservation, but was facing a 1 year wait for a car. The dealer secondary list is for "orphans" cars ordered, but the person changes their mind.

I phoned today. They had a car come in yesterday, and the person who ordered it decided that they did not want i, they wanted a convertible instead.

Amazing thing is that it is the color I reserved and the options I reserved (not that a Smart Car has many options). It did have the upgraded sound system which I did not want and does not have the security package that I did want.

So, I pick it up my orphan this coming Saturday.

I'm feeling a bit stressed out because I was really preparing to be waiting either a few months or so for an orphan, or a year for the car I reserved.

Still not quite sure if I'm excited or in shock.
.

Excited!!! & soon you'll be in love with it and giving it a cute name!!! :cutie:

who is they? our alters, our husbands, or DCL?

The bartenders...

What is a grasshopper?

Yes, I lost my home in a fire. It was a Xmas tree fire. the power strip under the tree sparked.

That's why I unplug mine every night... ever since I heard Gene Kelly lost his house due to a Xmas tree fire... and it comes down right around New Years...

Well we had some great news today...

DD got into our first choice school for Kindergarten! Finally the long wait is over, I was starting to think that we'd be on the trip when I finally heard. :cutie:

So when do you start the paperwork for Harvard?;)

Gaylean, Robin didn't know Cindy was THAT kind of girl ;) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: (but she likes it) (or at least she thinks she does :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: )

Oh Great... we have Sybil on this cruise... How are we going to know which personalities show up at dinner???

Yes, I read yours and thought "Oh how awful" - I'm far enough away from it now that I feel for other people when I see the wild fires on TV. We had a bad run of them here this fall. I came very close to having a house full of displaced Dis families staying with me. With your style of fire, often you are waiting for the news, with mine it just happened in 30 seconds flat. I don't know which is worse?

I don't know how I would deal with something like that. I don't know how I could start over again.

the pizza and beer in the dhouse doesn't sound half bad. At least I have something to eat which is more than I can say around our house. Also, I'm not sure which would smell worse - a d'house or a room on some stinky boat with a bunch of strangers - Also, I saw something about someone going bare foot - just stinking up the boat more.

ummm... divorce?

TREASON!!!!

TREASON!!!!

Cindy is really friendly to people that don't want her to be around and spends a lot of time on the ground but you won't see her at dinner. Shots around the ship maybe!

Why not to the beach? Penguins always dress formal, don't they?
.

Just make sure that Tux is wrung out and dry by dinner, ok???

no, can you call them for me????:worship: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

who has the stinky feet?:rotfl:

That wasn't easy I had to coach him thru it the whole way...:lmao:

and will never reappear :3dglasses

are you blonde under that redhair V????

You know I thought for sure that it was 2 of your multiples coming through... are you sure Paul is real???

Okay, the last few days were great. Filled with baseball tradition, the L.A. Coliseum on Saturday, opening day yesterday.

Today I went to see my primary care doctor for my 4 month check up. Got good news and bad news. But worst of all, I mentioned the cruise and she made me get a Hep A and Tetanus shot. One in each arm, she said I would be sore, I can not lift my arms above my head! And I have to do it again in six months. Next time I am keeping my mouth shut.

Has anyone else done this shots?

Joseph

It's yellow and black. Just like this one (and yes, there is something strangely orthopedic about the car)

I also think that considering I am a "gentleman of a certain age" that I am not instead trying to buy a Corvette.

.

Yeah, but this is so much easier to park!!!

WHAT A GREAT NAME!!!

.

I think we should have a contest on board... "Name Ian's Car... Win a Drink"... you'll have lots of entries...

if he was orange, not yellow. any good names from that Bee movie? I didn't see it.

Wasn't Disney...

They are shockingly roomy inside. I had to pull the seat forward when I test drove it (and no, I am not the Travelocity gnome).

For my driving style and living in the city, it's a good little car. There was a lot of debate over the cargo space, but I figured, stacked, I can get 8 bags of groceries in the bag.

Plus, the passenger seat folds down flat to make more room.

Push come to shove, I figured I can alway leave Sukie by the side of the road. The walk home would be good exercise.
.
Better be careful... he may do the leaving!!!

yes, or maybe Aunt Bee ?

THAT'S A GOOD ONE!!!

Isn't there some tradition where you lick some chocolate souffle off the back of your hand and then knock back a cosmopolitan? Oh... wait, no! That's salt and tequilla...

.

Ian...you're going to get us all thrown out of Palo!!!

Thank you for saying that PJ....it took me forever to understand what they were talking about when the big fig discussion first came up. No one else said anything so I figured I was just behind in the times....Now I know you and I are on the same page:goodvibes

I'm so far behind, been so busy, I'm overwhelmed...but Kaylee, I had to comment on this....I wondered why it was called the big fig also but didn't want to seem like an idiot! Now I get it!!! :lmao:

You wanted to know the name of the third penguin. Am I the only one who remembers Sister Bertrille. Could I really be that old.
.

Didn't they have names for the penguins in MP????

Oh Lisa...here we go again....will it ever stop?! :lmao: :lmao:
