Ok, here is my opinion about the juice fast.

First, it is not a diet plan. I did it for 10 days (nothing to eat, only drank fresh juice made from vegetables and fruit). Although I lost a few pounds, as Kaylee said you do gain it mostly back. Obviously, if I could have done it for longer as I had planned (I was going to do it for 28 days), I would have lost more weight and probably wouldn't have gained it all back. I forgot about an unplanned board meeting so I had to get off the fast on day 10. And this is why:

You are VERY, very tired at night. You can not think straight. I felt a bit drunk once it was 8pm. And by 9pm, I was asleep. It was hard with the 4 boys, as evening times are very busy. It took a strain on DH. I also got some severe headaches for the first few days. My board meetings are in the evening, and I couldn't chance being "drunk" so I got off it. And I was very upset about getting off it, even though I had the symptoms above.

The reason I was upset is that there was many, many pluses. I have never slept better in my life. Every night, I slept so soundly, and even if the kids got me up in the middle of the night, I was able to go right back to sleep. It was wonderful. And during the day, I was very, very alert. It was very weird. Everything seemed brighter, clearer...just vibrant. I know this might sound weird. Or maybe I was hallucinating or something. But I loved how I felt during the day. I'd get home about 6pm, and that is when the headache would come. 7-8pm drunk. 9pm passed out. Next morning, woke up feeling wonderful.

I'd like to do it again, but getting through day 1 now has been the hardest thing. I think I might try on Monday. I do think you could lose weight, but if that is the reason you during it I think you for sure should be under MD supervision. It really, REALLY, puts your system out of whack. My friend is doing a liver cleanse - he says there are tons of stones that come out we he does it. Not sure what that is all about. Kaylee??

Ok, hope that sums it up. I recommend everyone fast for a few days once in your life. Food takes on a WHOLE new meaning. I would see a small cherry tomato and it would look like heaven. And then to make it through a few days without eating anything - it gives you an awesome feeling of power and control. I loved it.

Ok, now I'm sounding a little like my whacko friend who has seemed to brainwash me!!!

Lisa

I don't want to try it as a diet rather I am seriously wanting a cleanse and to rid myself of some of the toxins I know I have built up. The passing out asleep at night might be good for me as I sometimes stay up til 4am then wake back up again at 7am and go about my day. I was really hoping to do a full month cleanse then go onto raw whole foods then slowly back into foods that are much better for me then what I eat now. A juice fast might be a good intro for me. If I try anything I shall let you all know how it goes.

Nan kept the hair and is attempting to weave it back onto Mollys head as we type :lmao: ok maybe not but a funny thought.........

After last night I think she is willing to do anything to make that hair long again:idea:

Nan, Molly's new haircut is very becoming and she looks so happy in the pictures! I hope by the time you read this you're feeling a little better about the whole thing.:flower3:

Oh, if you only knew...

yup, I have recovered. and spill what uses are you refering too????;)

At the end of summer right before I started middle school (7th grade), my mom made me get all my hair cut off. Mine was almost to my butt and she told me I looked too little-girlish for middle school with it like that. I was mad about getting it cut, but it looked great!

My mom wanted me to get it cut around the time of the Dorothy Hammill look... I did... found out I had wavy hair instead of straight... My hair hasn't been the same since (probably never was...) Of course she took me to HER beauty parlor (definately NOT a salon where they still used that pink tape...:sad2: )

I got a passholder email that says passholders can now add the dining plan without having to purchase tickets!

I heard that... but I also heard on the podcasts that it now makes it a package and you have to pay in full 45 days out... oh well... Disney's got us either way...

You can pour a glass in your room in the wine glasses provided by stateroom host and take that to dinner. If you bring the bottle, corked or uncorked, they will charge you the $15 corking fee, plus tip.

Ok thanks for clearing this up for me :thumbsup2 Does this apply if I was to bring the bottle of wine to an adult venue in the evening to share with friends? I supose they could not enforce something like that. :confused3

For those sitting at my table...be warned...I will have a big paper cup o' wine at our table. Just to white trash it up a bit...:rotfl2:

or you could ask for a wine glass every night from your stateroom host. They might assume you leave it in the dining room so you would need another new one the next night :rolleyes1

didn't ya see the Bubba cup from earlier today?? I was thinking they were perfect white trash to add to our table. Shall I order them for us ladies???:lmao: They do come in lime green, I saw them on the website.:rotfl:

Tammy, your story really tugs at my heartstrings. My deepest sympathies to you and your children. If anyone really needed to join the happiest place on the sea, it is you.

This is a great group and I am sure that there will be many on here that will help make this a great trip. Make sure you get a look at the list of activities that are planned, as I doubt (and I see others have said so too) anything on board is really "fully booked".

I don't know about this. Not ever tried it myself nor have I seen it discussed on the Boards. HHHHMMMM. Interesting.

Tammy,

You have stumbled into the most loving, caring, fun loving group on the DIS boards. I am sure that I speak for all here when I say join in on anything you would like and if there is anything any of us can do to brighten your day for you and the children you have only to ask. WELCOME :grouphug:
