Thanks for all the PM's everyone, I got hold of Tammy alphabet. Funny since I rarely log on at night.

Monica:

I know I'm not timely in getting back to you, I was down this afternoon with a headache. I talked to Wilson and we decided we want to see it first. So thanks again for the offer, but I think we can find a turtle on this coast :goodvibes

you are right, that is alot of champagne, I have one tiny sip and I'm good (I of course might have a rum & coke in hiding)

I'll drink enough for both of us and buy you a rum and coke:rolleyes:

you know, it's wierd not having anything booked at WDW......

Yes it is.....I go there after every cruise and not going there after this cruise is very weird to me. Of course, I'll be going to DL for the first time so that's great, but WDW is like home to me, especially after a cruise. I'm missing it.

Being on the West Coast is going to be awesome though, it's my first time ever! I can't wait to check it all out. At least I won't mind getting of the boat as much this time because I'll have so many fun and wonderful things still planned to do that I'm excited about too.

My son, 16, has been suffering from high blood pressure the last few weeks (we are trying to rule out organic causes), I guess the strain is too much, and my daughter, 10, is having constant back aches, I assume this is stress and I had her checked out at the pediatrician today who said it might be stress or she could have strained somehow. I am a total zombie and I am hoping the this cruise will enable us to forget our troubles for a while and laugh and have smiles and fun again. Thanks for listening, my DH was a great guy and very loved in the community. We will miss him forever.

Tammy

Very sorry to hear of your family's recent loss. You are on a great board, many are willing to listen and offer a "virtual" shoulder and hug. Our prayers go out to you and the kids. It's never too late to join in some of the upcoming events. This is going to be a great trip!

Ok, here is my opinion about the juice fast.

First, it is not a diet plan. I did it for 10 days (nothing to eat, only drank fresh juice made from vegetables and fruit). Although I lost a few pounds, as Kaylee said you do gain it mostly back. Obviously, if I could have done it for longer as I had planned (I was going to do it for 28 days), I would have lost more weight and probably wouldn't have gained it all back. I forgot about an unplanned board meeting so I had to get off the fast on day 10. And this is why:

You are VERY, very tired at night. You can not think straight. I felt a bit drunk once it was 8pm. And by 9pm, I was asleep. It was hard with the 4 boys, as evening times are very busy. It took a strain on DH. I also got some severe headaches for the first few days. My board meetings are in the evening, and I couldn't chance being "drunk" so I got off it. And I was very upset about getting off it, even though I had the symptoms above.

The reason I was upset is that there was many, many pluses. I have never slept better in my life. Every night, I slept so soundly, and even if the kids got me up in the middle of the night, I was able to go right back to sleep. It was wonderful. And during the day, I was very, very alert. It was very weird. Everything seemed brighter, clearer...just vibrant. I know this might sound weird. Or maybe I was hallucinating or something. But I loved how I felt during the day. I'd get home about 6pm, and that is when the headache would come. 7-8pm drunk. 9pm passed out. Next morning, woke up feeling wonderful.

I'd like to do it again, but getting through day 1 now has been the hardest thing. I think I might try on Monday. I do think you could lose weight, but if that is the reason you during it I think you for sure should be under MD supervision. It really, REALLY, puts your system out of whack. My friend is doing a liver cleanse - he says there are tons of stones that come out we he does it. Not sure what that is all about. Kaylee??

Ok, hope that sums it up. I recommend everyone fast for a few days once in your life. Food takes on a WHOLE new meaning. I would see a small cherry tomato and it would look like heaven. And then to make it through a few days without eating anything - it gives you an awesome feeling of power and control. I loved it.

Ok, now I'm sounding a little like my whacko friend who has seemed to brainwash me!!!

You're welcome to ship to me :thumbsup2 I have no plans to ship anything.

(Seriously)
Linda-you are welcome to use our room number(granted we are gty) we are not shipping anything to port...I'm all about supporting the scrapbooking:thumbsup2 seriously let me know if you need anything:goodvibes

V, sorry to hear that. Prayers for your uncle and rest of your family. My father acutally passed away as a result of diverticulitius. His intestine burst, and most likely you have surgery for this but in his case he was too weak from a prior pnemonia and refused additional treatment (torment) and passed away a week after diagnosis.
I'm so sorry V:grouphug: hope it is something that diet and RX can keep under control

I got a passholder email that says passholders can now add the dining plan without having to purchase tickets!

I wonder if they are using the same system they use for DVC, who buys DDP without passes.

And HP wasn't there? Welcome to my life. Being married to a very dedicated HP product manager, not only do I get to hear about printer stuff...but it gets delivered to my house regularly. Our garage currently houses 4 HP printers....one is a mammoth printer and let's not talk toner. But I shouldn't bite the hand that feeds me, so I'll shut up....I love my printer man.

HP was there, they were Gold Sponsors and gave away a digital camera. But I won a laser printer from Xerox, will find out the model next week, I have no clue what I am going to do with a laser printer, lol.

Tammy, welcome back to the "family" . click on the Calendar link in my signature, to see what is happening for the Dis on the ship, so far.

Dear Tammy,

I am so sorry to hear your story, and I want to pass on my sincere sympathies for the loss of your husband.

I am glad you are able to bring your children on the cruise. And as far as I am concerned, you can join in any of the groups! I don't think anyof them are so set in stone not to include new people, also there will be many new and fun groups organized onboard as well.

I hope to meet you on the ship. Good luck and good wishes,

Connie:grouphug:

Tammy, heartfelt hugs going out to you and the kids. I'm glad that you have decided to come on this cruise, you'll need it.

Me and Venetia/Tink1963 lost our mom's two days apart just 7 months ago. We both went thru it right here with everyone. These people are the best for love and support and understanding. You couldn't be with a better group.

At the one month time, I was still in shock and living on adreneline. I was just fine and dealing with it all. But lately, I have been crying everyday. The shock wears off, the adreneline goes away and you live with it every day and it hurts. So you cry and then you pick yourself up and move on until you stop and cry again. It's all part of the process that we must go through. It's ok. You're not alone, we are all here for you.

We'll be on Castaway Cay the first mother's day that Venetia and me will be without our mom's and we're doing a little memorial on the ship. Please join us if you feel up to it. It might be good to share. If you don't want to go there it's ok too. We understand.

Either way, we're all available for hugs and I'm sending some your way!

Why would you want to purchase tickets if you are already a passholder?
Isn't the Dining plan free with hotel stay in September? Connie

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.:grouphug:  This cruise will be a wonderful experience for you and your children.

Obviously this will just be my little opinion...but heavy duty liver cleanses or gallbladder flushes are horrible for you. I have had many patients not take my advice and end up in the hospital after trying such things. My liver detoxes that I put people on are very mild and simple because you just don't know how toxic someone is and how much they can really handle.

Congrats on making it 10 days Lisa...that is great! With my fast that drunk feeling only lasted for the first 3 days and then I did much better...but I was still in bed by 10 most nights.
