Last year, when we were on Carnival Freedom in the Mediterranean, I wanted to have a party for 30 people in my stateroom, so I called room service and asked for 3 buckets of ice, and 20 white wine glasses, 20 red wine glasses, 20 shot glasses, and 20 champagne glassses. Also I asked for several cheese platters, but they didn't have that, so they sent up cheddar cheese slices and saltine crackers like what you would get with soup in a restaurant. ABSOLUTELY NO CHARGE! We had a wonderful party. We had bought potato chips at the grocery store in Croatia and several types of wine, and our friends brought wine, and we had a great time!

I think Disney would do that for us, too!

Unfortunately the Smart Car is about 2 grand more in Canada (I already checked).

Also the Canadian version is diesel (I think). I believe they are introducing the regular gasoline version in Canada this year along with it's introduction in the US.

(PS - Mrs. Bennett saw a photo of the Smart Car and I detected a whiff of jealousy in the air)

And more importantly, the DoT won't allow Canadian smarts to be titled or licensed in the states. Emissions, safety standard differences, etc. (It isn't that the Canadian is less safe - just that the technical requirements that impact the smart are different).

Off to bed. Very tired, need plenty of rest for MAJOR CLEANING tomorrow after work. I absolutely have to get it done for real this time because I can't find my debit card and need it tomorrow. Yikes! It's fairly new and hasn't left the house yet, so I know it's not floating around lost out in public somewhere, it's just buried somewhere in my awfully messy house. This is just ridiculous. I seriously need an intervention! I started a bit of cleaning a while back, but it never got very far and just got cluttered again because I got discouraged. This weekend it's GONNA HAPPEN!

OK, Gang, we are bringing 2 Big bottles vodka, Rose's Lime juice, sugar free RedBull, Big bottle Jim Bean and 2 boxes Pinot Noir! no clothes, no gifts, no shoes.

OMG Redbull! I have not even thought about energy drinks! Hmmm I will bring a flat or two of rockstars with me. I HAVE TO! Oh and I think you and I could party well together. I am a vodka girl and like an energy drink too from time to time, maybe I will pack some Vodka that is infused with caffeine. Kill two birds

The Tuxes Have Arrived

Unfortunately though, they forgot to pack in the shirts and a few other things. I could go bear chested and just wear the vest and the bow tie with the tails.

Not quite sure I'm Chippendales material.

I sent off an email regarding the missing items.

I have to say that I'm delighted with the tails and with the white dinner jacket. I tried on the tails and they are great.

I just now need to collect the other assorted accoutrements that I have in mind...

As my departed mother always said, "It's never done until it's over done."

Hello Everybody.

Skipping a bunch of posts - not being rude - just can never seem to get caught up any more. I heard there was a lot of dress talk last night anyway . . .

I was out of commission last night because I upgraded my laptop DIY. With this cruise I went off my 2 year plan of replacements, so I did a RAM and Hard drive upgrade last night. I doubled my RAM to 2GB, and doubled my Hard Drive to 250 gb. I had to back up, install and restore. I had never done this on a laptop before, just towers, but let me tell you it was a piece of cake on my MacBook. This laptop is made to be easily upgraded - I LOVE my MacBook!

I need all that extra space because my 120 GB was almost full, and I am bringing the laptop with me.

Non-Mac users skip the rest - if you did not already skip the above . . .

Then I got a pm from PJ that the new firmware for the AE base stations now supports Apple's Time Machine back ups on disks connected to the base station wirelessly! I have been waiting for this, so now I have great backups without having to connect and reconnect the computer from the hard drive.

I feel like I have a new computer and a whole new network!

Hope everyone is well, and we are counting the days.

After all the FOOD that we eat on a cruise, why would a passenger think they need to take FOOD home?

Umm have you read the tag I had given myself long long ago. I am addicted to those dang cookies YUM YUM YUM. If I could take home a dozen or two I would.

Love Chip & Dale Breakfast - our favorite buffet at DL. Goofy's Kitchen breakfast is our second.

We've never thought the Blue Bayoy menu looked all that good. Sorry neither of us are Monte Cristo fans.

I have had really good filet there and usually get a steak since it is pretty much the only "real" meat I get while in DL. The kids usually like all the on the go foods so a steak once is nice.

Also . . . some info that I think Lisa (Disneylover) may have posted before.

I called Verizon today about cell phone voice and data while on the cruise. There are some things you need to do if you want to be able to call when out of the country.

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8130.

For Verizon, these are the per minute charges where we are going:

DCL- Flat 2.49 per minute charge while ship is at sea

Aruba - 1.29 per minute

Panama - 1.49 per minute

Mexico - .99 per minute

For any of this, you have to enable international calling on the firmware of your phone. You call Verizon, and ask for it, then you have to do a firmware upgrade by dialing the firmware upgrade number that I wrote down at the office. There is no charge to enable this. He told me that there are no additional charges beyond the per minute charges I listed above.

You are only charged for actual airtime - no charge when you are called and the phone rings. You do get charged per minute when checking voicemail.

As to the data - the 8130 (Pearl) is not a World phone, so no Blackberry coverage outside of the US. There are Blackberries that have this, and there is a per minute or per day charge you can opt for.

Guess I will use the laptop for email.

Really impressed I would never attempt to do that to my sony in a million yes. I suppose the macBooks are more user friendly in that regard.

All the dress talk was us goofing a bit but we are planning a wig night. Any color but a natural one to dinner. Figure we will make themes for other nights onboard.

You are right that we all have our own tastes. My DL trip is not complete without a turkey leg, a Dole whip and a whole bag of sour balls!

I just realized why I don't like them, they are dark meat. I like white meat. If it was a turkey breast I'd be all over it. And I'd race ya for the Dole Whip, but not the drink float kind, just the soft serve ice cream, and sour balls....I might have to test that one, we usually chomp on the goofy gummy burgers.

No need to paypal money or anything (thanks for the offers though )...the plan would be to bring cash for payment on the day of and then everything will be released off my credit card. I just really want to make sure that everyone is a go so that those of us who do go don't end up paying more than we expected.

Hey Kaylee, if all of us on the list are okay at the adjusted price them how about we just enjoy the extra room? That way the kiddos can move around a bit on the ride. What do you think?
