OMG that is great that the bonus will cover two weeks pay but I am shocked a bit I supopse that you can live well on so little. Is Michigan a really cheap place to live. Maybe because of the snow. :lmao: I suppose California is one of the worst states as far as everything being costly but I'll gladly pay for no snow.
I think it's just a cheap place to live. I also have no car payment, so that makes a difference too. And my house payment is low because it's a small house. And we also don't go out much or when we do go out, we do the many free events available in our area. In fact, Tyler's friend's mom who was just over today commented on how I always seem to find the free stuff to do in town! :thumbsup2

No tickets - but I have been stopped once. It was quite the experience.

Driving home from work I was sitting at a red light - first car. The light turned and next thing I know a cop car has pulled out from behind other cars and drove over a median strip with lights flashing I pulled over figuring he'd keep right on going past me. Nope - he pulls over behind, opens his door and aims a gun at my car :scared1: and starts yelling for me to put my hands out the window. My best friend was in the car behind me - she pulled into a parking lot and called her father from a payphone (he happened at the time to be chief of police in the town I lived in :thumbsup2 ).

Several more police cars pull up and surround my car while the first cop comes and opens the door for me to get out. By now the police are calming down - turns out there was a purse snatching about an hour earlier committed by a guy in older camaro in good condition. I actually stated laughing when they got to that part of the description. My camaro was a 73 (this was 87) with one fender in a different color, gouges down the passenger side and no grill - hardly good condition.

They apologized and let me go, we laugh about it now but it was a pretty scary few minutes.

I was pulled over with guns drawn once too! Similar circumstance and pretty scary! :scared1:

...back to catch up....

Hey I just asked about Michigan being cheap. I wonder if that is it? Any place has got to be cheaper then where we live Steph. The prices I call normal, when I have visitors from out of state they look shell shocked by some things.
It's definitely cheaper here because long ago, somebody commented that from seeing pictures of my tiny house, that it would be a couple hundred thousand for my house in CA, which would be just over triple what it cost here. Funny to imagine such a high price for a little old house. ;)

The first time I ever got pulled over I started to get out of the car because I didn't know what to do. The officer pulled his gun out on me. He felt so bad that he didn't give me a ticket!

Jackie can you get the details to PJ or do you want me too? PJ, yes it is the Hyatt Meet and I marked it on the google map.

Carol

Well, I could....however if you've ever BEEN to the Hyatt and the 'area on the left' you might be able to better describe it than I just did! :lmao: Is that enough 'detail' ???

.

wow if we had memberships and what not to pay we'd be in the hole....after all the stuff is deducted from my pay I do not bring home much at all! Neither does John really.....our mortgage is crazy! Samantha's college is paid for and we signed up for Haley's this year - paying on a 5 year plan - only because my dad and his girlfriend agreed (insisted) they pay for the first year. I am not sure how we can handle the payments next year...will be an adjustment for sure! in addition to everything else!

It's all that Disney cruising and alcohol that John will be carrying around on day one!

But I don't think I could live on under 450 per week no matter where. I mean do cars cost so much less...What about daycare? I know people that move out here from the midwest and they are shocked by the housing prices, but they have said everything else is very similiar...even dinner out/groceries...I was just adding up...theres no way...i guess I'll stay in cali....I like sun too!:thumbsup2
I'm very, very, very lucky to have a low house payment and no car payment (I paid in full at time of purchase). That makes a huge difference. :thumbsup2 That helped make a nice savings account to have for unexpected events (which occurred & sucked that all up......good thing it was there though).

But I'm right there with you Steph, I definitely wouldn't move away from sun and into the snow.....YUCKY! Definitely not loving winters.

I know someone that sold their $500,000 house here which is a small house around here and moved to Alabama and bought a 4000 sq ft house with a pool that is on a lake and paid like $80,000 for it. But you know what, I can walk everywhere and they have a little drive to get to a grocery.

essentially we could walk to everything around here....the beach, Publix, most shopping is less than 1/2 mile.....work is 6 miles though, would have to bike that!

yup I go. When the pain gets intorable that is my choice to deal with it. Paul is asking me to go to the othro/sports med doctor, but I know the routine, PT and exercise. The chiro treats the pain and I can at least move around.
I absolutely love how relaxed I feel after the chiropractor! When I used to work for UPS about 4 1/2 years ago, our insurance had chiropractic coverage. No migraines during that time! And the massage chair after each adjustment left me feeling like jello. So nice! :cloud9:
