aew, that's too bad! I had a fun thing happen a few weeks ago....a mom and dad came up to me at the Boardwalk and they were going on the cruise that day. They did the Land and Sea package, BUT THEIR 2 BOYS DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE CRUSE. THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING HOME! I don't know how they kept it from them! Anyway, I walked over to them with maps of the ship and told them I worked for Disney cruise line, and I asked them if they would ever like to go on a cruise. Of course they said yes, and so I told them they were going that very day in about a half an hour! The older one was about 10 or 11 and the younger one about 8 or 9. They were amazing! They laughed and laughed, and we all had to have our pictures tken together, and they got to be the first family on the motocoach to the port!
That sounds really neat...I'm hoping my kids are still a little "clueless." I am going to pick up the pirate luggage tomorrow - it is waiting at the post office. I don't think I'd wait until the day of the cruise...my kids are like me and that they think a lot of the fun is waiting and preparing for it! At least all the goodies I got them will be a surprise. It was funny, my 2nd grader, when I told him that our nanny was "mistaken" was like "I told her (nanny) that it couldn't be true as I have a VERY important test I can't miss (STAR testing)." Wait until he finds out that I spoke to his teacher already and got a pass to miss the testing! He might be just as excited about that as the cuires!

We do have a bad day here and there, but his main issues always have been in school. That's what was so strange because it wasn't consistent, just at school. The things going on at school on a daily basis, I just didn't see at home. But I recently found out that he throws a fit every morning at his dad's, screaming and protesting getting ready, stalling, etc. They constantly have to get after him to get ready. But at my house, we get up, have breakfast, he gets ready while I'm in the shower, and we head out. Up at 7am, out the door at 8am. There are lots of similar situations that only occur at his dad's, primarily because they let him and his dad has admitted that he's very lenient with him and always gives in to Tyler. DUH! No wonder they have trouble with him. I'm a mean mom and don't take any crap, so we don't have many issues. Sure, he has off days just like any other kid, but not every day like at his dad's. Strange, huh? We're learning it's related to his sensory issues and how they deal with him, but I won't bore everybody with the details.

In fact, when I picked him up last Saturday, his stepmom told me, "He's been acting up all day, so hopefully he'll get straightened out while at your house" because she knows I'm stricter than his dad. ;)

Holly, this is very normal as my ex was the same way. She was always having problems when she had my guys, and for me, as you will see, they are fairly well behaved young men. Now my 21yo is starting to try to exert his "I want to be independent" but that is normal for the 15yo skills he has. He can not read, but thinks he should have a car and a driver's license. Just hang in there and remember that you are helping Tyler by trying to help his dad stay consistant with your methods.

What a day! Sorry, needed to vent a bit. I now return you to your regularly scheduled DISing ....
Frustrating! I hope things our better. It does make you wonder about their judgement call on play activity. :confused3

wow Ken - what a day!

Steve - kudos to you and your boys! You sound like an awesome bunch, can't wait to meet you!

I have no choice but to keep the cruise a secret from my gentleman if I wish to remain sane until the cruise. I have my list of items needed on my computer, I will pack the morning/day of the 9th, pick up my oldest from his group home in mid afternoon, my youngest from his afterschool program, they will find the luggage waiting at the house; and only then will they figure out we are going on a trip. They still won't know where, how long, or on what, but they will be so excited they will chatter about it all the way to the airport and on the redeye to MCO, and they will probably figure out it is a cruise when they see the Bus at MCO. (they may figure it out if they see the cabin tags too)

When we did the Mexican Cruise in 05, they never knew until we boarded the ship. (they thought they were heading for LAX to fly to NY) For the TransAtlantic, we stopped at WDW first and did Epcot. They only figured out it was on the Magic again when we crested the last bridge before the port and they saw the ship. Anyone want to start a pool for a DOD on when they will figure it out this time?:drinking1

I've been on a council cookie selection group before. You should see what the cookie comany offers as incentives. It is alot of different things and some of it alot more useful than stuffed animals and jewelry. It is up to each council to pick incentives and levels.

Part of our 500+ cookie club is the voting on incentives for the next year sale. Molly thinks this is the best part. :goodvibes

Can we update the info in the front page about fish teams and anything esle that needs to be. Our leader seems to have disappered but we have a new member. Ssynder is going to help us out. :cool1: I am so happy as that is another mind we have now and pair or hands to deliver things.

Ok other good new. If all goes well I graduate May 2 I have 2 more classes to pass so I had better study for my test tomarrow. Good night all.

Good luck on your test!!!

That list sounds like ours.....but more American names...
Ibuprofren, Imodium, triple antibiotic ointment, Benedryl cream, BandAids, Nyquil for colds, vitamins, plus all our Prescription meds, Many it's horrible to get old! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: But I will say thanks to my Vytorin, my cholesterol went from 280 to 166! Hurray! And my triglycerides and HDL's are all great now too!

We have a similiar list except I'm leaving my Lipitor at home. I miss grapefruit!!! So I asked my doctor if I could stop taking it so I can eat grapefruit on the cruise and she agreed so I will stop taking it one week before we leave!!!

I second that sentiment. I got my "boot". It's nothing like a boot. It's two plastic sleves that fit over each leg and has 4 chambers of air that blows up and sucks out and moves on to the next chamber. I have to do this for one hour each morning and evening.

It's like when did this happen.......I used to be a dancer. This is so debilitating.

Deb, maybe this is going to get you back to being that dancer. Positive thinking.

Not too sure about the punk and poetry......CBGB's is the only thing that comes to mind......and I'm not even sure it fits. Don't you just love the village. That's the best part of the city to me. I took night classes at NYU and loved the neighborhood.

I went to a Todd Rundgren concert at the Ritz once.... I had fun and litterally ran into Todd on the staircase leaving the club... he was very nice, even though I'm sure he was trying to get the you know what out of there before the crowds...

Fill them out. What happens when we get those weekend great deal tickets to Paris???

You do a stopover in Newark so you can pick me up.... ;)

OK, I feel better.

We(that is the royal we, me myself and I and Paul complained) that we are having our annual St Pat's McSkjerven Party dug up from the grave...

When Paul and I met, we had great St Pat's parties, until just after Wilson was born (the last one was when he was 2 weeks old) that following year our friends got married on St Pat's day. Today I talked with a few friends and they all agreed that we need to have it again, 7 year itch and all is over!!!....

Party at Nan & Paul's on Monday, come in your green!!!!

So... Your majesty... what would you do if I actually showed up?????

I'm thinkin about 2 pm on the 3rd of May.... Does it have to be both of them or just one?

Ok... I just booked a 4 nighter at POR in April... probably won't keep it, but I was supposed to go first week of March and I was going to do alot of things then because I'll only be in Fl for 4 days in May....

It's a solo trip...mom's going to be mad at me because she already doesn't think we have enough time to get ready for this trip and I have to do a week in Jersey for my other work April 21-25th...

I can't get excited until next week though... that's when I hear about the project... if it goes through then everything will be good... if not... I'm going to sit down and cry... with a box of thin mints in my hands... (can't waste good cookies...)

So everybody...keep praying...

(nan... got 2 boxes off the local girls... otherwise I would just have to have a sign on my butt saying "This body sponsored by the GS..." :rotfl2: )

I am going to be anal about packing for this trip simply because the last year in all the trips we've been on I have forgotten something.....I've had to pay outrageous amounts for, bathing suits, sunscreen, batteries, sneakers, change of clothes in the park, etc. So I am making list upon list! I want to bring a little ziplock of various medicines as well!

I was on a diving trip in Tobago once where one of the women in the group forgot to pack her bathing suits!
