I think we Californians take much for granted.

We live close to the beach, and for many years we went to the beach only when we had visitors.

Sand in the shorts -- ewwwww!

Woody

My sentiments exactly! While being at the beach with friends may be fun at the time, cleaning out all the sand - not to mention what ends up in the car no matter how many times you wash your feet - just no fun. I love the ocean if I'm in a hotel room with the balcony doors open, or on a cruise!! But you can keep the sand!

We have a great place in Corona Del Mar that is all grass above the Newport Beach Jettie overlooking the surf and boats. It's a great spot to enjoy the beach, sunset, picnic etc. no sand. we take all our tourist there.

well besides my cold, I had a terribly realistic dream and cannot go back to sleep. Someone was after me, stalked me to my office and had a gun, I shot him in the head but he didn't die and when he got better he kept coming after me.

Oh my! And then when you woke up, were you afraid to go back to sleep? I hate when that happens.

ok, re La Perla, I emailed for a reservation...I got a read receipt in Spanish and then another email with the menu in Spanish, but nothing saying that YES I do have a reservation.

ok good people, my photo of the boys and I in our "orange toilet seats" from last year's TA cruise is now posted on PJ's website on faces2. Have a great day and I will try to catch up later tonight as I am doing laundry part2.:rotfl2:

. . . Good News, Susie SSnyder will probably post today, but she will bring the white boards for the midship floor monitors and has it all worked out from her end. I told her I volunteered her and she was very kind about it
That's very good news about the white boards.

Shawn finally made it home from Hawaii on Saturday. It really is nice to have him home. The girls haven't let him have a moment alone. They really missed him and told him he can never leave for that long again. It was a long 26 days! Of course the little jerk is as tan as he has every been:love: !

Working the whole time . . . . . . . yeah, I'm falling for that story!

Only a few weeks away from our ski trip to Utah. This will be the first time we have been away from the girls since they were born. Eight years is too long, it will be great to just spend time alone with Shawn and our friends. That sounds kind of horrible . . . . . . but . . . . . . . . it is going to be nice!

Where are you skiing and staying?

looking for the passport to adven now, can't find it, can you post the link please? we also have the scrapbook patch at our Council office. Actually we've done it before, there is an activity for it I think. We did it a few years ago, I think as Brownies.

Here's a pic:

Jackie - I will check out the dishes at the Ivy and give you a report!

Enda Mode/Kelly - So if I got tickets for Price is Right through that link, does that mean I could be on the show???? How cool would that! I could win a boat! (not sure what I would do with a boat). Looking forward to your PM!

Lisa

MY LAST POST WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN LIME GREEN!

ALL DIS'RS SHOULD HAVE SOMETHING LIME GREEN ON THEIR DOORS!

So some sort of lime green on the door. Are we suppose to wear lime green at some point? I remember people talking about not looking good in lime green but I didn't know what it was about.

I kind of figured Ducky would be on the cruise. That is very cool. Hope to be able to hear one of his presentations.

Me Too! :yay: :yay: I missed them on the 11 night but definitely want to do at least one this time. We got a lithograph in each cabin and had him sign it. He did a different one for the 10 night and the 11 night SC.

Sounds good to me. Thanks everyone for clarifying the difference between patches and badges. We just started so we are new at this.

Badges are earned

Patches are just for fun, no requirements needed

I agree. On the last PC cruise, we missed Cabo San Lucas due to weather. We were just thankful the captain kept us safe.

You mean you weren't one of the ones complaining about not going in when there were 28 foot waves? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I heard some people were upset.

But then I would have been so sea sick I could have cared less AND there is no way you would have got me on a tender boat with that kind of action going on. I always wait to be the last one on the tender boat and the first one off so I don't get sick "rockin" in the water while they fill the darn thing up.

Oops, I mean waiting on the "lifeboat suite"

Ducky is an amazing man. I was out bid for one of his works in the Art Auction on the TransAtlantic. Hoping he will travel with us again on this cruise.

Seriously, I got tired of not winning one of his "free" sketches so I happened to bid on one. I "won" one of his AP Mexican Riveria lithos from 2005. I so wanted it. I was on :cloud9: when I won it. Only after the bill came in did reality strike but you know what? I don't care! I have an original Ducky Williams signed Litho and its hanging on my wall!
 :dance3:

Some pages back someone was wondering if Ducky Williams will be onboard. When we spoke to him during our last cruise he said that he would be on both repos.:thumbsup2 He really is amazing. And he is such a down to earth nice quy!

We didn't go to the auction but we did win one of what he calls his 'scribbles' at his presentation. Wish I could scribble like that!:rotfl:

We got a Minnie Mouse "scribble" a couple of years ago. And on the 10 day Christmas in 2004 every stateroom got a print, which he then signed for us. Very, very nice. :thumbsup2

We all got a print in our room from Ducky when we were on the special cruise to Antiqua. It is beautiful. Funny thing is I didn't know anything about him at the time. He was onboard and I never knew it. Found out all about him later on the DIS.:disrocks:

A trip to Home Depot for Paint Chips is on the list...

Home Depot must always be wondering why their lime green paint chips are so popular!

By the way........

the sketch I finally won after my 4th or 5th cruise with Ducky on board that was FREE, only cost me about $300 to mat and frame!

But, worth every penny!

I love Ducky. If you have never had the opportunity to see him, it is a must do during the cruise.

Last time I saw him, he told me that he would be on the PC cruises in May and August, so hopefully, he is still coming!

The last litho I got was from Gibraltar on the TA cruise in May and the last sketch I got was the DCL House Party Hostess gift in January of this year!

hmm, it comes up for me!

yes, it has been really hectic around here. Right now we are working on our interest income projections for the board for the rest of the fiscal year. Not a good thing when they ask...

Could you pm me the link again and I will try another puter?
Thanks.
