I was an officer with the USAF too - made it to Major! I think this is why I went back as a contracted employee - I truly enjoy helping our troops. Trust me, Luke AFB is a fighter pilot training base, and, well, let's just say I see at least 6 patients a day. It is very rewarding.

I don't know, anyone else without a google account not able to add to the map? looks like you have to sign up for a google account, but you can use a current e-mail no gmail required, looks fairly simple to sign-up.

Just checking in. I am beat.

We have gotten about 18 or so inches of snow in about 24 hours.

I cleared snow last night.

I cleared snow this morning.

I just cleared snow again.

The snow pile in front of my driveway from plowing is about six feet high.

I had to go into the office to manage a crisis plan for the stores - I got stuck dropping Sophia off at Grandma's. We are closing our stores three hours early tonight.

I got stuck picking Sophia UP at Grandma's.

Both times I had to get a shovel out of the trunk and spend a half hour digging out. If you stop on a side street, you are SOL, because they have only plowed the main roads, and cannot keep up with them.

I know this isn't Canada, but we have not seen this kind of snow in awhile. My snow blower can't pile it much higher on the side of the driveway, it is about 3 feet high and growing!

The only thing growing faster are the pages on this thread!

Sorry about that John. Wow. If I was closer I would help shovel. I'd be slow and out of breath, but I would help if I could.

Yesterday morning, when I left for work, there was NO snow at all. It had all melted. Look outside now, it looks like the North Pole!

I will take a picture and post later.

We had an awful week. One day we had freezing rain, and lots of trees lost branches. Power lines were down all over, and some did not have power for 48 hours. Then, it rained. Then we had a sunny day, and you were bombed by ice from trees as you drove around.

Then Friday came, and it still has not stopped snowing!



I loved that story Dennis. I hate when I miss stuff like this. I missed about 3 or 4 days of postings.

Ladies and Gentleman, ALL members, former members, family members and guests of those who served in one of the respective services in the defense of world peace and freedom, no matter what rank (and some of us were fairly rank especially after a 2 week FTX (Field Training Exercise)) arecordially invited to spend some time during an afternoon at sea in the Diversion's pub and "Pull up a Sandbag or the Hood of a Jeep, or a Plank of the Deck, or a Wingtip" to discuss fallen comrades, quirky stories, and supposed heroic accomplishments over beverages of choice. Uniforms will not be required and the only saluting allowed will be with a glass in hand. I ask our calendaring Adjutant to see if there is a time that can be recommended for this Roll Call?

And I will report when, and as, directed.

I am not sure, but I think it was Becka that found and posted it the year before last. ?????? not sure, but you can just right click, copy, and paste it I think. If Not I will try to figure out how to e-mail it to you. I just found it in one of my folders in the temp files. I find some interesting stuff in there.

I really miss my time here, but I think it is going to be more and more limited. Some things have happened at work that I am trying to deal with and my time has become a big issue.

Normally, Amy loves this kind of weather - not so much today. We are all ready for Spring, and I should be out spreading Scott's instead of blowing snow!
