It was tough getting up this morning. My first WW meeting was at 8:00 AM which meant I had to be there at 7:15 AM. That hour made a big difference!

So far so good for the first week of the staff spring weight challenge. I lost 3 pounds (1.63 Kg) this past week.

Now I get to relax this afternoon before my REAL job tomorrow!

Well done Ian!:thumbsup2

I am, I have my own 1/8th scale train and it is co-located with Walt Disney's barn at the Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum here in Los Angeles (see www.LALS.org) Usually on one or two Sundays a month, I can be found out there running my engine and hauling the public. Lots of fun and I am the Membership chairman too!

That gives us more to talk about. I was a gandydancer in the summer of '64, and my GGF was a Section Master in Arlee, MT. I still have his old rolltop desk from the station. I have never been to your Museum. :confused3 I don't know why I have never been there. I can only claim ignorance on my part.

How lovely Nan. I love the seat in the gutter!!!!!:lmao:

When is your birthday? Mine is the 23rd. 2 weeks and I'm 60!

yup gutter rats that's us :lmao: :lmao:

I'm one week later, March 30th, I'll be 44. Let's take the difference and call it our real age...that makes us 16 this year!!! And every year thereafter. 16 was good for me, how about you??? (not that I'd like to go back there, mind you)

Wow, page 28 and I'm finally getting a minute to find you guys again. Thought I'd say hi, no way am I going to be able to get caught up tonight. I just got home from work and have to be back to work in 8 hrs, so will have to be awake in 6 hrs:sad2: The weather here today was nasty. snow, snow and more snow! I shoveled this morning for an hour, then went in to shower and have lunch, by the time I went back out to go to work there was just as much snow again. The roads are bad, only the main roads are ploughed so far so it was difficult driving. But I did have a nice surprise, someone ( a neighbour?) had shoveled the end of my drive so I could at least get into my driveway. If the plough goes by tonight though, I'll have a lot of digging out to do to get back out! Sounds like a lot of Canada and the US is being hit with this storm, and Florida has had tornados? Hope everyone is warm and safe :grouphug: I'm going to read a couple of pages then go to bed, try to slow down a little bit please :flower3:

Kathe
Hope you are warm and safe and rested.

Hi PJ, thanks for setting this up - it's great for us cruisers o/s! I have added us to the map - everyone scroll out wide to see us down under!:thumbsup2

I'm glad you are there :thumbsup2

I was waiting for you to add to show the kids, they will love it seeing us Thieves from all around the world pirate:

I can't imagine having to carry a shovel in my trunk! Here's wishing you guys get a break from the snow for a bit. pixiedust:

You should always carry a shovel in your trunk. And an axe and a collapsible bucket. (And a Monkey, if you're lucky.....:rotfl: )

His God daughter came and bought our antique piano yesterday. They stayed quite a while and we talked quite abit, Just before they were leaving she told us his story and got the coin out of her purse. She said she was sure he would want Dennis to have this. We both teared up....we do that alot! :sad2: She said he was given 100 coins to give away when he got the medal.

I figured there had to more of the link than the person that bought the piano, God daughter makes more sense.

Such a lovely way to remember a cherished friend on many levels.

Just passing through and I noticed there was still space to reserve on this sailing today on DCLs' web site at 7:47AM California time. Maybe this is news someone can use to squeeze on, eh?...

No signs of it yet. She just said it dosn't start until tomorrow, when she has to get up at 4 a.m. (Now 5a.m.) :rotfl2: I hope she doesn't wake me up and slap me. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wilson has a race on my bday, I'm thinking of trying to find a spa place near to see him then go and relax at the spa...Marr any suggestion of anything local that's good?

That map showing where we all live is great. I see you in Oz!!! :yay: There are people on there I have never heard of.

My father was Air Force but he was stationed with the Flying Tigers in China.

I mentioned this before (probably thread one). My sister adopted a baby from China. The last day in the adoption region we were taking a bus tour of the area and the facilitator mentioned that just up the way was the General Stillwell and Flying Tiger museum. Knowing my father has attached to the unit we were very disapointed that we missed the opportunity to learn more about his service time. Three years late we were back for her second daughter and were assigned out of the same general area. We had the same facilitor and we asked if we could go to the museum. She took us and my sister was about half a room ahead of me and I stopped and just stood at this one picture. She walked back to me and just said "which one" and I pointed and she just nodded. It was a picture of my father - the exact same pose as the only picture that was ever hanging in my parents house. My father passed away ten years earlier.

That was three years ago this weekend. I still tear up thinking about that moment.

YES. I remember that. :goodvibes

Well, once you and my DH meet up I will probably not see him much for the rest of the cruise, between sandbag stories and trains! And there was I, looking forward to a vacation that didn't involve regular visits to Caboose Hobbies, or Mizzell Trains, or Colonial Photo and Hobby, etc etc. :rotfl:

Trains, Planes, and Automobiles. Oh Yeah !

Those would be lurkers, they are shy quiet creatures whose hobby is reading Dis threads.
