We LOVE our school but it is hard! The girls go to a magnet school that uses the British Storyline approach! It's the only school in the US to exclusively teach all grades (k- 5) this way!!! It really is amazing!!!! Other schools around here are starting to use it more and more but not do the whole school thing like we do!!!

what is the British Storyline approach? never heard of it.

so it that the GOOD side, or not???? I want to be able to have a sign hung out for our friends at home and also I want to get a picture of us on our verdana while crossing. Am I dreaming???

I am guessing no if I remember the webcam film of the Magic going through last time. However we can stand on Deck 4 or 10, or visit a friendly friend with a verandah facing the cam.;)

Anyway, although that is one of the main reasons for going on this cruise, the other 14 days we face the flying Dutchman and land.:cool1:

It's wonderful! Supposedly it's how they learn in Britain and other parts of the EU! We do 3 storylines a year! We do an all school one once every 2 years, so we just finished that! The whole school learned about San Francisco! So the K's learned about Little Italy, 1st about China Town, 2-3 about the spanish area and 4 -5 Japan town! So the girls in first grade really studied a lot about China and they actually pick out Chinese names and learn to write in Chinese, etc.! And then for the culmination each class is assigned something so ours was a Chinese Theater so the kids were all actors/actresses! And some rooms had restaurants, animal shelters, craft stores where they made things, etc! It really is neat!!!

We've just started our newest storyline and it's about Italy! So I'm working on printing off Italian names for them to pick from! And here in a little bit I'm headed to volunteer and painting Friezes! The kids just love painting these! (They're 3-d like paintings of their scenes)!

I hope this helps!! But all of their curriculum is hidden within the storylines! So they're truly learning it instead of just memorizing!!!

So, they learn techniques, ie reading, art, math, then use those to move their storyline forward. It must take teachers who can focus the kids, and who have that joy of being a teacher and helping kids learn, discover and accomplish goals. But in the end the kids have skills they already now how and where to use those skills.

Alright quick question....for those of you who have prepaid your tips do they give you a receipt now or will it show on your final tab at the end of the cruise? I want to prepay for it now without it showing up later! My dad think it's included so I just want to go ahead and take care of it!!! Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!!!

Pre-paying is so new, I don't think that anyone on this cruise would have seen it's format on board. This would be a good question on the main cruise board.

You can't really "prepay" the tips however they allow us to put $163.50 per person onto our stateroom credit. If you do this for your dad there will be a note in his room saying he has the $163.50 credit and it will still show up on his bill at the end. They just use the room credit to pay off what is charged to the room including the tips. Ok does that make sense? It is harder to explain then I thought it would be LOL.

This is how Disney did it for me. I have my tip money on my account and then I added for excursions and then my mad money.

I HAVE A STATEROOM! 6101.

OK...back to read all the pages and see how many of us are happy dancing! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been around, just been real busy.

I just wanted to remind you if you've received a cabin assignment please be sure to PM me so that I can get it on the master list. I think I've caught most of your posts, but just in case, please PM me. Linda (seaulater) will be using that info for the mini nav.

Thanks!

Just wanted to say we got room 6545. Mixed reviews. Nothing I can do about it so we'll go with the flow. Hot down here in St Maartin! I'm off, so be back Sunday!

Should I be worried? I prepaid tips and it does not show on the obc, just what I know is for excursions. My credit card has already been charged for both the tips and the obc.

I don't think the tips show up as OBC, because if it did you would have to go to guest services first thing and have it applied otherwise it would go to charges you make on the ship.

We got our room today...6100. Looks like it's right next door to ibouncetoo! Cool!!!!! And it looks like it's a connecting room, even though we're not connecting with anybody. Will that make any difference in the layout or anything?

How do I find a review of this room?

Okay, that makes me feel better. We already had our room assignment, we just got our flight information. All we need are the bag tags.
