We're close enough that the girls will be able to keep in touch. :goodvibes

I know that is great! Is your daughter in a year round school or a regular track school? This is Jacinda's first year in traditional track school. Our schools in town changed over this year all but three of them. This summer I have big plans! Well not really yet but I plan on doing a bunch of things we never did since she will have so much free time.

I just wish I had their metabolism!!!

I know the super bowl is coming up...but since I really don't like either team I am not to in to it. No offense Deb - I do love Peyton and think it would be great if Eli could have something his own.

Did you see Peyton on Saturday Night Live last year? He was great as the host and pretty funny - or not afraid to make a fool of himself.

V...don't stress!!!!! Taylor has always been tiny. In fact today was the first time in a year that I had to go and buy her a bigger size shoe!!! She was a great eater (now not so good) but in the last few months she has just sprouted. I never get concerned on well child exams about height and weight unless there is a dramatic change in the wrong direction. I thought Haley looked perfect :thumbsup2

ok that is great. I have to remember to tell Molly to use that in her future life :lmao:

My kids watch much older movies too, I'd like to join the Bad Mama Club, or perhaps that is just a badge to earn in the Bad Girls Club???:lmao: :rolleyes1

Mine watch older movies too. I do think since I do not make a big deal about some things it makes the kids LESS interested in them. Such as bad language. My kids hear things in movies that mommy would never want them to say but they don't run around saying those things. Now I have a friend whose kids only watch G movies but heard the f word somewhere. Those kids ran around for a week or two using it every chance they got. :lmao: I found it funny my friend however did not. :rotfl2:

before I catch up....we went out for seafood. A few minutes wait, enough for John to get a beer, a wine and two Shirley Temple's......they came in a GLASS. As of late the girls even request water in a glass.....the waitress came over and poured both into a plastic cup....neither of my girls said anything but their faces were so sad.....like their big girl status was taken away!

I used to have a friend who has a daughter the same age as mine. They are only two weeks apart in age. The other girl is all around big, as in a bit overweight but also tall. My daughter wore a size 7 or 8 this girl was a 12 or so. My daughter would get so sad when places would give her friend a big glass adult glass of milk and my daughter a plastic kids cup. They even did it on the Disney Wonder. She finally said something one day. I started making sure to tell waiters when we ordered that the girls would like a adult glass of milk or whatever it was they wanted.

The plastic cup is for babies as Jacinda says LOL.

we are horrible, I mean my girls have been to the theatre to see all the pirates....Cars, Narnia, not much else simply because watching at home with our own bathroom is sooooo fun~~~@!

you know after I read everything I type no wonder my mom and grandma are so scared for my girls!

I, we, don't know the first thing about parenting. At all. Have we done everything wrong? John and I think so.
We have a sassy kid, who is 5 but thinks she is Amber (my sis 23).
We have a wanna be....to that sassy kid.

Johnny is Johnny......he's a guy, "whatever you want V"!

my Geeks, I hope, will understand, how do I give my girls "everything" that I never had and still make them appreciate it?

The outdoor adventure in PV is full (no reservations available). There are various things that are full. Anything else you want me to check the availability on?

Sandra

Wow! I can't believe excursions are already full with the concierge bookings:scared1: Can you see availability for all things? Wonder what the outdoor adventure in PV is looking like....we really want to book that through DCL and figured we wouldn't have a problem. I'll just have to think good thoughts for the next week....:goodvibes

We were wishing DCL had a longer excursion because we would like to do the other activities as well. They are taking children 5 years of age and up. Our little one will be 7 at the time of sailing.

Sandra

Go to Sea Life Park in PV. They only take 6 people in the sea lions at each time. I think it was $47. You are "suppose" to be 8yo or above and 48". We chose the 11:00 time so we can do the rest of the park after. There are lots of water activities and a couple of shows. We knew that the DCL tour was not allowing enough time for these and charging lots more.

I can tell you this from our MED cruise. They do not release all the reservations at the beginning. They released some on 105 day mark. More on the 90 day mark....yet more on 75 days and then even some on the ship.

I have no idea if they will do this on this cruise or not....maybe someone should call DCL and ask.....then again......they won't give you a straight answer. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Thank you for this info. We were wondering if they did that or not. Sure hope they do that for this cruise.

When did you go on the Med cruise? We were on from June 27 to July 7. It was great.

I could have typed that right there myself.
I can offer no answers just the comfort of knowing there are tons of us moms out there in the same exact situation right now. I want my daughter to appreciate things and she really does but she still seems to expect them as well. Last time we flew to San Diego for vacation I had all the suitcases in the livingroom. I told the kids cmon lets go to the airport I am ready! My daughter started to wheel hers to the front door and I asked where she was going. She asked if the limo was here. :rotfl2: I cracked up something fierce and told her that mom's taxi was taking us and to wheel to the garage. She didn't care one way or another but now I worry that I have set expectations really high. I sure hope adulthood is not a letdown when reality kicks in for her.

Drum Roll .....

I lost 3.5 pounds this week!! :woohoo:

... I put on 50lbs when Tiffany was in the hospital (nerves or something since I don't remember eating much those 2.5 years) ... and am finally trying to get it off ... I am really motivated to "just do it".

I am heading for the treadmill and will check in a bit later.

:tinker: Karen

GREAT JOB! Keep up the good work! :goodvibes

This cracked me up. Reading on this blackberry I read this to say "I lost thirty five pounds this week. I was like what did she do cut off an arm or a leg.

Great job 3.5 pounds is AWESOME and you still have all your arms and legs.
