Isn't someone else going for just part of the trip and getting off and flying home in ACA? Would your DH consider that?

That's a great question/idea!! How about that? He could start out with us in FL then get off in ACA. Then he could atleast spend time w/ you and the boys celebrating your bday, but then not have to feel so bad about work cuz he'd be only missing 6 work days. Run that buy him and see what he thinks

How could I forget to say this.....I got my pre-planning kit today!! Actually I got 2 but I'm not complaining--I'll save 1 for scrapbooking

So for us repeat cruisers - we can start booking stuff 2 weeks from today or tomorrow??

Hi Deborah - the packet has tips on what to expect/bring, dining options, shopping options, gifts you can order for your stateroom, the insurance, customs/immigration info, and special things that will be happening (ex- breakfast or tea w/ a character, Pirate night, formal nights). There is also info on how to rent a tux.

I started crying when we talking...deep down I know it is the most responsible thing to do...but you know when you really want something so bad you just don't want to think responsible???

Of course mortgages in CA are high, and our house is no exception. And when his clients slow down, it really affects our cash flow. I have my board meeting on Feb. 6 and I am going to ask for a bonus b/c they did a salary survey and it showed I was a little under the market. I think I'm doing a good job, so I hope they would think about making it retro. But really the survey was done to set parameters for the upcoming fiscal year (we are July-June) so not sure if they will consider retro, or if I shouldn't ask for it since it might seem like I'm being greedy or something. Still...I have this hope that if I do get the bonus, maybe DH would change his mind...but as I said, it has more to do with him being out of pocket for 2 weeks. It would be a shame to spend all this money and have DH stuck in the hallway on wireless working all the time....

I did call DC and made a phantom booking for the 8/22/09 sailling. There was a Cat. 2 available. It gives me just a glimmer of happiness to think about sailing in the Cat. 2 as we loved the Cat. 1 with our 4 boys. But then the happiness goes away as I know that would mean I'm not going on this cruise....I'm really sad...

But no worries about the whole fish teams...I can manage that no matter what.

I hope you are not cancel this cruise and hope everything sort out soon.

Bill has no clue, I don't think. He thinks I'm saving money for some trip but not sure what. He got the mail today with the DCL info in it and said "you're not planning another cruise are you?" I answered with nope not planning one. Didn't ask if I already had one booked. Betsy and Brent are on the way to Vail this morning and got about 45 minutes away from Vail and the pilot said there was a mechanical problem and they had to go back to Atlanta. They are once again on their way! Postcards are arriving daily and I can say that Brent is getting more sent in than anyone. The funny thing is the 2 from England arrived first!

Not yet- I actually found a few more that I want to look at. I did find some boots that would work as pirate boots last night at Walmart

Such nice and supporting words. Thank you very much. My DH is working today, but when he gets back I will talk to him. Maybe I could go with my MIL - my DH would love his mom to spend that much time with the kids....not sure how I would manage with 2 weeks of MIL!! Actually, she is pretty easy to travel with, although I have never gone anywhere with just her...the positive about that is I bet I could spend a lot of time with my DIS friends as she can hang with the kids!!

wow - that sounds like a great idea! Won't be the same as traveling with DH but this sounds like a good solution - especially if DH would be worried about being away so long, probably wouldn't be much of a vacation for him.

Hi, They leave on May 25th and stay unitl June 7th (i think) . They will be staying at the Zion Ponderosa Ranch.

When she first told me about the class, she said they were staying in cabins. No big deal, she had been in Girl Scouts all her life. She tagged along with big sis's troop since day one and kept on until she graduated from high school. Her first job was as a resident camp counselor. Cabin or tent she was prepared. Heck, I was 9 months pregnant with her when I ran our local day camp. Camp ended on Friday, she was born on Monday.

So a couple hours ago there is a knock at the door. A guy says he is trimming our neighbors trees and bushes. Wants to know if we want our yard done. Knowing what was coming from previous quotes (with a low of $1,700) I asked how much. He walks the property and says $350. SOLD!!!!

Imagine our yard is 14,ooo sq ft, which in AZ is a decent size. We have over 25 Queen Palms, 15 other types of Palms, 6 mexican birds of paradise, 14 hibiscus, 10 bougainvillea, at least 20 lantana, 22 creeping figs, probably 15 other various plants, and grass in the front, side and back yards (yes, sad that I know all the plants - but we put them all in). In other words, THIS GUY IS CRAZY!

How did he do on your neighbor's trees and bushes? If It looks good I say go for it.

We had estimates for finishing off our garage with drywall. Our neighbor had a guy and he low balled all our estimates. We hired him as well, unfortunately we had to finish the job ourselves as he started and stopped and started and stopped and we got tired of his excuses. The good thing is we only paid him as he went and we weren't out any money.

oh, I don't think I posted about Tebow and him being a bad bad boy.....
I had our name magnets on the dining room table....they are like block letters with Jack Sparrow in John's Tink in Haley's etc. He helped himself to them and SHREDDED THEM ALL - well except for mine. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? He is in time out.

Did he actually eat any of the magnets? If so definitely keep an eye on his eating and um, outputting - magnets can cause blockages.
