If so, what are you going to be bringing with you?

OK...who knows which ports we will dock at and which ones we will have to tender? Mostly I want to know about Aruba...the one port where we may be doing a non-DCL excursion.

We are thinking about doing Aruba on our own too! I have googled aruba and got on their tourism website. When I found out about private tours costs I will post... Karen

Don't pay any attention to when they SAY it opens. Just go as soon as you board and they WILL be open. We were the first to board in boading group 2 in Dec, I went directly there and they were ready for business.

Oh, I forgot THE BEST PART. So, this restaurant has various vintners come in and do wine tastings and special dinniers. The Banfi folks will be there March 9th and they are doing a five course dinner with wine parings....$65!!! I am SO THERE!

We got some bootleg here, called La Ballerina from Spain it was wonderful, a red sweet wine.. Never had anything like it before..... Who is the one that has the wine shop? i will need to ask for special requests if possible.....

We had pillow cases and frames signed on our last cruise. I'm trying to think of something creative and different to have them sign this year.

What other ideas does anyone have for this???

I am going to get a couple picture mats signed and also was thinking of doing 2 tee shirts. I was thinking of framing them in a shadow box for the kids rooms. Pottery Barn Kids sells some cool boxes that are made for say a kids sports jersey but hey I think a Disney shadow box would be cool.

started before 7 am!!! Might have been earlier, but that's when I went upstairs to see what was up and they were already handing out Champagne and Mimosas!! I said "not until I've had my coffee"!

Had one later, around 11.

They also had wine tasting that afternoon as we sailed through Gateau (sp) lake. It was great!!

Well I got some good news tonight. First let me tell you the before part:

When I had booked way back last January I had booked an extra cabin. I was going to be taking a friend and her daughter. Well in this past year our friendship has gone downhill and since I no longer feel the desire to pay her way she is no longer coming along. I had decided I would try to find a nanny to bring along to help with the kids.

Now I am super mom at least I think I am so no I do not leave my kids EVER hence why I wanted someone along with my 4 year old so he was not left crying in the club while I tried to do an excursion with my 9 year old. Also so maybe after they are in bed I can escape to meet up with adults to chat and relax.

So long story here I know but any how tonight I got the call back I had been waiting for I have found my nanny! I was not going to use a service so I only asked girls I knew or very close family knew. The girl who is coming along is my brothers ex girlfriend. She is very sweet and great with my kids. My son kinda has a crush on her and gets all goofy when she is around.

I have done this on a lot of other trips that I have gone on. I am single and it is hard for me since I have a hard time finding friends who can travel when I want. My married friends can't just take off for a weekend let alone a week and my single friends usually can't afford to do anything especially if they have kids. So paying someone's way to tag along works well for me.

I am really happy now! I can do a couple things with my daughter I would have skipped and I can hang out with grown ups from time to time!

Ok c'mon you can't all be sleeping can you? I really don't think I have seen such downtime on the thread. I suppose people sleep in on Saturdays. Me well I have things to do and had no time for a long beauty nap. Scouts meeting in the morning. Gonna give a little talk about recycling and then brainstorm for thinking day. Ha I hadn't even thought of that! Hmm you know honestly I bet she would not mind watching a child or two once in a while in the evening if the mom or dad were needing grown up time. Ok that sounds ALL WRONG but you know what I mean. Out and about on the ship grown up time. Or other things you cannot take your kids to. We are booked in catagory 9s and she has one all to herself. Plenty of room for a daycare Really sweet girl. She and my brother had dated through high school and part of the first year of college. She is really excited to be going, and I am excited I found someone to drag along!
