Hi Ginamarie, I'm so glad that you didn't have to cancel and that you're sailing with all of us on this cruise. It's bad enough that we had to lose Noel and Karen. So glad we didn't have to lose you too.

Can't wait to meet you and all the family and especially Olivia!

Welcome

I've lost a few pounds.

Lisa, we have a Vitamix blender and one of the things we do is take scraps of fruits leftover from half of an apple and chopped up carrots, extra pineapple etc. and toss it into the freezer then take it out for the drinks. It helps reduce the ice build up and tastes better when it is frozen.

DW is invited for lunch at Club 33 tomorrow, so I'll tag along to spend the day at Disneyland and California Adventure. I asked DW to go out on a balcony during lunch and toss me a bread roll or two. Woody

Geez, if I'd have realize you were a begger on the streets of New Orleans Square I would have planned to come over and walk around with you this morning. Unfortunately, too much work this am from sneaking off on Wed.

Venetia.....first let me say happy belated birthday wishes and hopes and dreams for Bubba. Hope he had a special celebration and that it continues for a month long.

Next, I called DCL and told them about doing a memorial service on Mother's Day on CC. I asked if Disney would have any objections to us organizing for a prayer and putting flowers in the water. I was told that I should speak with guest services when I get onboard and make the arrangements with them. They will help set something up for us. But we probably won't be allowed to take the flowers off the ship with us and we would have to find a private place to do the ceremony so that we don't possibly offend other people. Maybe we could light some candles instead. I think that would be nice. Maybe we could have the ceremony onboard early before going on shore. Either way, maybe you and I should coordinate and meet at guest services after the life safety drill on day one. What do you think?

For all the newbies, both Venetia and I lost our mothers this summer, just two days apart. We were both on these boards when it happened and we shared it with everyone here and supported each other throughout the event. This will be our first Mother's Day without our mom's, so we wanted to do something in rememberance of them. We'll be on CC. Everybody who wants to is welcome to join us.

Jackie, was it you who had posted that great poem at the time? Maybe we could just read that. If you have it, can you post it again. I'll copy and print it out this time so we have it available.

Morning all. I 've had a few busy days. I am now trying to power scan all the posts I've missed.
Love the photos of all the cute kids and the Pirate costumes. :)

Welcome to the newbies! :flower3:

Auburnguy, hmm are you related to another Georgia poster on our boards?

Ian glad to hear Mrs. Chumby has arrived. I hope she plays well with Margaret and Ethel. I can understand Margaret for the coffee maker, my Aunt Margaret loved coffee, but our toaster would have to be Lucy. When she burns the toast she would have some "splaining to do". All our cars have been named, we currently have Otto and Jake.

Wll off to scan some more. Then off to the dentist.

We have a 4th grader. I was hoping he would do a report on the canal. He has been watching any of the canal programs on the History Channel. I will have my wife contact you. Your idea sounds great. He is home schooled, but meets with several families for school day each week and does presentations for them.

Joseph
I previously posted about an excellent History Channel DVD "Modern Marvels, Panama Canal." It's done quite well and is very insightful. Panama Canal DVD

Not sure that I should admit this - but my dh is Auburnguy. He finally posted and that will probably be the last time you hear from him until the cruise!

I thought this was him!!!:goodvibes

Cheri, I can't wait to see you in your pink tink champagne girls outfit. You're going to look smashing and I want the pics to prove it!! Don't worry about the hair color.....you'll look just fine.....you can be tink when she's all grown up.

For everybody else, if you pick up a pink tee shirt and copy the graphic to an iron on, then put it on the shirt.....you'll have something to wear to the party and you'll have the pink tink champagne girls tee shirt. I was going to wear my pink mexican shirt, but I think I'd rather wear the pink tink tee shirt instead. Everyone can make their own. If you're unable to do so for whatever reason, PM me and I'll see if I can make an extra tee for you.

Oh wow - that's great! Maybe she'll take some pictures so you can see the inside.

You could visit Downtown Disney.

Yes, we are having a DTD Dismeet at 4:30Pm

Here is the info:

Dismeet 5/9/08 night before the cruise ________________________________________
OK, I found us a Dismeet for the night before the cruise at DTD. This is the place we can also distribute the lanyards. Guest relations helped me to set up a meeting for 4:30pm at the Dockside Stage across from the World of Disney. Each person/family can pick up food from any location in DTD and bring it to the Dockside stage and we can eat, meet and greet. PM me if you'd like to come and tell me how many in your party. We'll have about 90 min. to visit with each other before they set up for a 6:30 performance. I will keep in touch with the management at DTD to find out what the performance will be and to let them know how many of us will be there. Here is the map. World of Disney is number 28 and the stage is near the number 42. We'll see how well you can read this on the post. Thanks, Kelly

Can we try this at EPCOT

Good Morning Thieves!!! The sun is shining and I'm feeling so much better. It's been a tough week of chronic pain. I have a whole list of illnesses and I just had a flare up. I hurt from head to toe right to the bone. It was hard to sit, stand, sleep or move. I was taking pain killers and muscle relaxers which knocked me out. I'm so glad it's over for now.

I'll be good to go on our cruise because I'll be taking steroids temporarily while on vacation. They will reduce the inflamation and pain and give me energy. I can't stay on them permanently, but I do use them for vacation. So I am doing better today and will be great on the boat.

It's the last day of February today.....starting tomorrow it's just 2 months and 10 days to go......just 2 months people.....and we're there!! Now I'm getting even more excited because after waiting over a year, 2 months is nothing and will go very quickly.

:cool1: :cool1:

Great that you are feeling so much better Deb - I can see it in your posting!!!

Hi Gydell.....I'm glad I'm feeling better too.....it lasted the whole week already and I'm glad it's over!!!

Isn't that shirt just the coolest! Thanks to PJ again for coming up with the graphic and making it so easy for us to make the shirts.

Marilyn and PJ.....I have shirts for both of you that I'll hold until I see you at the terminal or on board. They really are perfect!

Thanks Deb!

Not sure that I should admit this - but my dh is Auburnguy. He finally posted and that will probably be the last time you hear from him until the cruise!

I rather suspected that, and I believe I put a wink smiley in my reply to him!!! My John posted about 2 posts sometime back and that was that!!!:lmao: I was going to actually ask now but saw your post.

After your wonderful and enjoyable experiences booking at the 90 day mark, I sent an e-mail to DCL and Disney executives stating they have a problem and may need to upgrade/fix (also pointed out the 1/31/07 problems, etc.). Quoted in the message below (brought over from EB thread) is thier response, thought you might find it interesting:

Apparently, according to DCL, the only people who have problems are those with multiple rooms reserved together (so watch out Crash, Escaping Moms, all you kids in another cabin ressies.....)

We welcome your observations on ways in which we can improve our
pre-cruise experience. We are aware of the challenges some guests
experienced when trying to reserve shipboard services and shore
excursions online, and have taken steps to ensure a better experience
for our guests.

First and foremost, we understand that some guests with multiple
stateroom parties linked to their individual stateroom reservation
experienced situations where they were unable to log into the system.
Our system has always been designed to facilitate one individual
stateroom party booking at a time; however this may not have been
communicated clearly on the site. Therefore, we have revised our
website to include the following information.

Please note: For Guests in travel parties with 1 to 4 staterooms, if
another Guest in your stateroom or another stateroom linked to yours is
currently in My Cruise Plans, you will be unable to retrieve your
reservation below. Guests in travel parties with 5 or more staterooms
must retrieve each reservation separately to arrange activities in My
Cruise Plans.

We've found that on average, guests traveling in parties of 4 staterooms
or less typically will allow one individual within the group to make the
majority of the bookings for their entire party. The issue we
experienced stems from groups of 5 staterooms or more that are linked
together and everyone in the group is attempting to pre-reserve services
at the same time for their individual reservation. When this happens it
slows the entire website down and, at times, results in long wait times
or requires guest to start over.

As a solution for groups of 5 staterooms or more that are linked
together, we have modified the system so that each stateroom party can
pre-reserve their individual services at a time that is appropriate for
them (even at the same time). Guests that have 5 staterooms or more
that are linked together and wish to pre-reserve services for multiple
staterooms may do so using the "Retrieve Another Reservation" function.

I hope this information proves helpful. We appreciate your feedback and
will continue to monitor our guests' booking patterns and make future
adjustments as necessary. We look forward to your upcoming voyage.

Sincerely,

George

Not sure I believe/agree with the explanation....

Hi Monica.....I mis shoed you too!! It's great to be back here and to feel good again. I was really hurting and grumpy and not happy. Now I'm better and it feels great!

We tried cutting off the champagne girls at 40 but I think we stopped at just over the 40 mark, so I would say let's let everyone come. I'm going to update and post the list today. I need to give it to Linda/seaulater to put little champagne glasses next to all the girls names who are coming.....in the mini nav. How cool is that!
