Holly, a lot of my problems stem from the fact that I quit crying. Crying is a good release so don't ever feel bad about doing it. I was always a crier. Cried when I was happy, sad, mad, etc. My mom used to tell me to get over it all the time. Finally I did and that is when I started having panic attacks and went into a deep depression. I still can't cry but one day will and am actually looking forward to it. You are facing a lot right now and just getting over it isn't particularly a good thing. Cry and rant here all you want. Everyone has been here for me and we will all be here for you.

It is not necessary to always "pull yourself together". :grouphug:s are always here when you need them.

Carol
Thanks Carol. I've never been much of a crier, but not because of trying not to. It just doesn't happen much.

oh of course, it's just so strange for someone who doesn't live like this to understand.

Today we met with her therapist. It was good, but also very sad. We had our behaviour of sparing the kids from her reinforced. That was a big saving issue for me. I have been feeling guilt over keeping the kids from her (they can't be with her alone or overnight) I just don't feel safe with that. The sad info was that she concluded that MIL isn't ready to change and that there is a real risk that she could be sucessful at suicide. That is down right scary. But there is nothing that we can do other than rescue her in the moment.:sad1:

Oh, Nan, I am so sorry your family has to go through this.

Can't wait! What a great 40th birthday I will have....night before birthday (15th), have Palo dinner with DH at 6pm, waking up really early on my birthday (is 6am early enough???), taking a couple of my boys up to the deck to save a spot (will there be chairs there??), passing through the Panama Canal....having a wonderful lunch in the restaurant or buffet, playing in the pool, and then Champange girl time!!! :cool1:
Lisa

Lisa, 40 something really is different from 20 and 30 something. What a great way to bring in the new phase of your life. Celebrate and Enjoy all of it. Glad we could be there with you to share and partake in such a festive event!

Actually I think most of us are here to make friends so sitting with strangers is not so creepy to us. I do think if you get sat with people you do not like you can ask to be moved. Who knows you may meet some great friends and be thankful you got sat with them for dinner. This week I met two ladies that I had only met through this thread. Total strangers otherwise and I tell you they were two of the sweetest nicest people I have met in ages! I am sitting with them at dinner and know I am going to have a blast! I can already see us being great friends. :flower3:

Maybe you guys can attend a Dis meet beforehand and meet some people possibly making a connection and find another couple or two you would like to eat with? If you are creeped out eating with just one other couple maybe you should really ask to be sat at a LARGE group table. That way there will be no one on one pressure to talk as much. I think if you give it a shot you will find it is not creepy like you think.

I was kinda shy on the boards but this cruise I figured screw it! I jumped right in and haven't looked back. :hippie:

hee hee, I think you met the crazy Gabby Girls!!!(i think I like that better than triplettes) We are friends because we all talk without abandon...and alot :lmao:

Seriously, I'm so glad that have connected. It's so much fun to share all this excitement before hand with people who really care about it and just think of the smiles and laughs we are going to have on board....I can't wait :woohoo:

For all you Tums fans

 Thanks Deb, your words make sense. The good thing is that I do have the days Tyler's at his dad's when I get a break from struggling to pull myself together. He doesn't need to see me down and doesn't need the burden of even knowing "Mom is sad" because kids project everything onto themselves and think they're the cause of everything (at least the psychologist told us that last week). OK....I'm babbling incoherently again...sorry.

About school, this week was week 7 of my 2nd semester missed. I don't think I'll even be ready next semester to go back, but my goal is to return in the fall. All of the scholarships I've seen are for current students, meaning I'd have to be enrolled in classes. Since each class is about $3K, and I'd have to be paying cash, I can probably only swing coming up with money for one class, but if that's what I need to do to be enrolled so that I'm eligible to apply for scholarships, that's what I'm going to try to do! :thumbsup2 So at least I have a tentative starting point for getting myself back into school.

The right thing is going to happen to get you to where the right place is for you to be. Trust me.....the universe is at work here and you will end up there!

Take baby steps! Don't look at the whole overwhelming picture. Think about this cruise a lot and getting hugs from all of us for real!

This Morning, I was laughing when I opened the birthday card from my brother, it said Sister, I've planned a fun-filled cruise in the Mediterranean for your birthday, when I opened it and it said Can you water my plants while I'm away? with a cat dressed up tropical!!

Look like my family know I love Disney Cruise, :rolleyes1

Anyway, today is my birthday, and I am going out with my 7 friends for lunch then go to bar for champagne.:thumbsup2 :dance3:

I will be out all day until tonight.:)

Scottishwee35:flower3:

Deborah!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, maybe you will get a Panama Canal cruise for your birthday, :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh wow I am so sorry to hear this. A big hug to you and all your family going through this. I know you seem to be a very strong person but I understand this is hard on you all. It is so very sad for the grandkids to lose time with their grandma while she is going through all this but I understand 100%. I hope she can change for her sake and all the family members affected.

Thanks. I think I'm getting to a place that is ok. I'm realizing that grandparents while they CAN be a great person in a child's life, they don't have to be. My kids have GREAT parents, and for them that will be good.:goodvibes

I LOVE stuff like this! My DH is excellent with puzzles of all kinds, he is analytical and observant. I have a pretty good memory(I think:confused3 ), and we are both pretty good with WDW park trivia, and a wealth of useless trivia in general. Not very good on kids movies done by Disney, though.

Just remember that both Jody Foster and Kurt Russel got their start on Disney movies...

The life boats show as little outlines on the edges of deck 5 because that is the level they are at when stored. They can easily be lime greened.

What I keep wondering is how are we going to get in and out. Will we have to use the ladders and go down to deck 4 to come in to use someone's bathroom or can we crawl through the portholes on deck 5 through which we can see the lifeboats?

Jan :earsgirl:

I'm just going to go use the Spa... ;)

Haven't figured that out but I have chosen the 5th boat from the front on the left side. Now I need a name for it.........

third from the bottom....Portside...

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh my gosh, you guys are too funny.

Let's have a NAME THE LIFE BOATS CONTEST. It will be a pre-cursor to the contest for the names of the two new ships....what do ya think?

Dinghy Bats Suite ;)

You haven't given your suite a name yet then?
:rotfl2:

YOU GOT A SUITE??? That must mean 2 lifeboats!!!

Just thought I would thank everyone for their prayers and pixie dust. My cousin's husband went home Wednesday and is doing pretty good. He apparently has a condition that is affecting the sack :confused3 around his heart. Apparently it doesn't squeeze the heart enough to allow enough oxygen which makes the heart think it is having a heart attack. At least that is what I think his dsil (my cousin, Cynde, across the street who was staying with them) said. When it comes to medical issues I am lost. :confused3 When they got him to Riverside they couldn't find any blood clots so don't know what that was all about. Anyway, Cynde came home today and said that he is doing much better. Thanks again.:grouphug: :thumbsup2

I don't need to understand it all to recognize that it is GOOD NEWS!! Thanks for sharing. I trust they have found out what he needs to do differently and that he will commit to doing it and thus not have a recurrence!

SUN is out here!! It's a good day on both counts.

for real tell me the story with the smokers on one side of the ship????

Holly, posted a description of a sandwich she had ordered for lunch. The sandwich had peppers in it. I posted that it looked yummy, but I would be popping tums all night.

Unfortunately, I had a typo. :sad2: Not to be repeated at this time.

The usually kind, considerate and thoughtful posters on this site turned into VULTURES (;) ) and descended on my typo with a vengeance.

I have been banished to the other side of the boat. Since my cabin is on starboard, I assume I am now on the port side with the smokers. :rolleyes1

Here are my shirts and design.

For us it's a matter of being comfortable with people. We've met a lot of people that we didn't know before. We know Monica because we met her on our first cruise when I interviewed her for a podcast, and we've been fast friends ever since.

I also produce Mouse Manager, which has had over 2000 downloads, and I correspond with people many times a day, and have made many friends, some of whom are on this thread, and I have joined in with other people on this thread (fish extender team, etc.)

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but for some reason, sitting down and breaking bread with people has a certain intimacy.

We are also not a typical couple, and so there is concern as well that our table-mates are comfortable with us. Otherwise, mealtime could have the potential of being rather strained. Sort of like a bad weekend in an English country house.

Just ask Monica, she can vouch for how bizarre we are!

seems to me that means you will fit right in with us

Got this today from a friend and thought I would pass it on....who would have thought bananas were studied this much!

Well! ALL THE MORE REASON TO ENJOY THOSE BBCs ON THE CRUISE!
That's Baileys Banana Colado for those not in the know.

OK, sweeps done, turning off the computer....or maybe I should leave it on and check back to try for that pirate: coming up......

.

Thanks I still need more but it takes me so dang long to find ones I like. Or think I like til I try them on. :rotfl:

so pretty. I just realized that I'm not going to have enough dresses to wear to dinner. ok, there may be an occassional thrown together outfit....you are forewarned.
