Hi Monica

Did you had a good weekend?

Are you coming on the Cruise on your own?

Scottishwee35:thumbsup2

Hi Deborah - my weekend was great! (but it did go tooooo fast).

I am sailing w/ friends on boards (other than those here), but am in my stateroom by myself.

Okay, so I have a story to share from yesterday......

Decided to run a couple of errands late in the afternoon and then come back to work. I had parked my car out at the front of the building because all the spots to the side were gone when I came to work.

So, I NEVER, and I mean NEVER, leave the building through the front entrance, but I gathered up my purse, and since I'm on the 2nd floor, I went out the middle and down our atrium stairs and decided once I was at the bottom to use the ladies restroom before I left.

Well, I NEVER, and I mean NEVER, use that restroom. I either use the one upstairs or go down the back staircase and use the one on the first floor, but I did. So used my key to get in. Did my thing, and then......

When I went to leave, the door on the stall was broke and I couldn't get out. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Now, normally, this would not take me over the edge, but based on the events of the last month, that was just the final straw.

So, luckily I had my cell phone and called my office and asked to talk to our director of property so she could come get me out. Well, I had her paged, but to no avail, she did not answer.

So, I had the Chief Operations Officer paged and she was in a meeting but answered and I said Lisa.....would you come down to the atrium and come into the ladies restroom because I have a problem I need help with.

Well, she just happened to be in a meeting with the property manager and they both came down to the bathroom and when they entered and I told them I was stuck in the stall they hysterically started laughing and almost wet their pants.

Needless to say, it has been the joke around the office all day that I got stuck in the bathroom stall and didn't want to crawl on the floor to get out.

I really, really, need a cruise!

Can I be on your team? This sounds like it might be a little too difficult for elementary kids, is that fair to say?

Sure, just remind me so we can team up together. I think we can have a max of 4 per team.

I think it would probably be hard for elementary kids, but there might be one or two things they might be good at, but Tony could probably answer for sure.

What can you tell us Overcompulsive Planners that will help us to prepare? :)

Well, having read a little about Mouseadventures I think I won't be any good on a team! I know nothing!!!:lmao:

is mouseadventures for anyone?

Below is the best description we have for MouseAdventure - just replace Disneyland with Disney Magic. We don't expect you to know much in advance. If you can think, you can play. There isn't much you can do to prepare, really. A clip board is usually a good idea, along with a couple of sharp pencils.

Anyone can play - and the nice thing about being able to have a full day is that you can do it at your own pace. (Unlike the park game which is under a time limit - and there is never enough time to do everything). We really try to keep the shipboard version much lower key. I am posting the hardest question we did on the 11-night Southern Caribbean cruise below so you can see what they might look like.

And Linda - there is to be NO LEFT TURNS on deck 10. We want to keep everyone on board, safe and sound.

MouseAdventure is part-scavenger hunt, part-road rally, part-trivia challenge—a team-based competition that guarantees you will never look at the Disneyland Resort in the same way again. You'll notice buildings you usually walk past (do you know the address of the Main Street Music Company?), colors you might not have noticed (how many purple cars are there on the Sun Wheel?), and little details you didn't even acknowledge (cannonballs on City Hall? You bet—we've seen 'em).
Held in the fall (usually October) and in the spring (usually March or April) in Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure, or even in both, MouseAdventure uses various event formats with their own rules and strategies, with puzzle-based "quests" serving as their core.

If you love word puzzles, you're in luck: many MouseAdventure quests incorporate an element of popular paper-and-pencil puzzles like word searches, cryptograms, and logic problems. But don't think that you'll be sitting on a park bench all day, because teams travel far and wide both to find clues and to solve the puzzles they lead to. You may need to ride attractions, watch shows and explore far-flung areas of the resort, all the while using your keen observational skills to complete the quest.

On deck 3 Forward, Take Route 66 to Flagstaff and find out what book Walt Disney is reading for Story Time. Notice that you are standing between two mile markers. Answer this question, and then follow the instruction associated with your answer:

1) What book is Walt Disney reading for Story Time?
If the book is Peter Pan, move to the higher of the two mile markers you are standing between.
If the book is Peter and the Wolf, move to the lower of the two mile markers you are standing between.

You are now standing at your starting point. Answer the next 6 questions, moving as indicated depending on your answer. Most answers can be found on this deck. Enjoy the ride!

2) Now, do you remember who’s driving the ship?
If it’s Captain John, move ahead 10 miles.
If it’s Captain Anderssen, move back 10 miles.

3) How many public pools are on the Wonder?
If your answer is two, move ahead 40 miles.
If your answer is three, move back 40 miles.

4) Look around – how much is a gallon of gas?
If your answer is 66 9/10 c, move back 5 miles.
If your answer is 32 9/10 c, move ahead 60 miles.

5) Are there more Dolphins or Lifeboats in the houseboat diorama?
More dolphins, move ahead 35 miles
If there are more lifeboats, move back 30 miles

6) Who christened the Disney Wonder?
Michael Eisner - move ahead 50 miles
Tinker Bell - move back 55 miles

7) Who comes next in this sequence: Daisy, Pete, Minnie, _______?
If your answer is Donald, move back 30 miles
If your answer is Mickey, move ahead 50 miles.

I think it would probably be hard for elementary kids, but there might be one or two things they might be good at, but Tony could probably answer for sure.

We keep kids in mind, and there are usually several things they can help with. The Eyespy is a great example. The kids usually know exactly where something is - especially by day 11.

That's so cute. Are you going to try to hold off telling them until then? That would be a fun way to tell the kids.

We thought it would be fun to make a pot full of gold coins, and then on the bottom of it put some type of DCL stuff....not sure if we will admit it is from us, and not the bunny as the kids might have too many questions as to how the bunny was able to make THAT happen! Lisa

Calmom,

;) It's almost spring time! :) Please clean out your PM closet. Pack away those out of season PM's :goodvibes

Cork

I can't seem to clean them up fast enough! Lots of activity. I'll keep doing my best!! Lisa

Tony-let me know if I need to bring my printer (I've got a different one), or if you decided to haul one along this time!

Thanks Linda - we are bringing one with us this time. So we should be be ok.

Sure, just remind me so we can team up together. I think we can have a max of 4 per team.

For the park game, the limit is 4. Onboard ship, we allow up to 6 people per team, because of the number of families, etc travelling together.

calmom - I believe I am on the Geek team unless they kicked me out, which could be the case! ;)

No you are - my bad. I have it in my notes and for some reason it didn't get typed on. I've added it!! Sorry! Lisa

Hi Monica, Well I watched this week's P&P (for the 4th time at least) and I can't wait till next week to find out if Mr. Darcy and Miss Bennet will get together:rotfl: It's just like the movie "You've Got Mail" - I stayed up late last night watching the Jane Austen Book Club and it was wonderful - I loved it. I also picked up Being Jane Austen while I was at Blockbuster. Haven't seen it yet. Probably tonight.

I saw the "Being Jane Austen" when it was shown on PBS (week prior to P & P). Quite interesting - didn't know much about her life.

I can watch P & P over, and over, and over again :goodvibes

That is a very, very funny story....I'm so sorry you went through that though! Lisa

Hi guys:

Popping in late tonight asking for some prayers and :wizard:

My MIL has fallen off the wagon and we've found out that my FIL has been enabling her buy buying and bringing her booze. :sad2:

We checked her in the hospital for detox tonight and will most likely get her in the morning and have her stay with us thru the weekend while we look to get her out of town to a rehab clinic.

She has done quite a few programs around here and not had sucess, but always comes home to the same issues with her husband, FIL.

She is at a very low point and during the past New Years holidays she had 2 attempts at suicide. This was not the first time for this all became very clear to us when this all came to light.

Hopefully we have gotten between MIL & FIL this time to get her to a place that she can recover and make better choices. I'm just at a loss. I just spent the last hour online looking and not knowing what and where to turn.

It's hard being the outside DIL the boys (Paul and his brother) aren't assertive with there father and clearly he is not making the situtation better for MIL.

Wish us luck and strenght in dealing with this over the next few days and weeks.

I'll be here as I can, as I know the support you guys offer is so sorely needed to get me thru.

Nan

So sorry to hear this  I hope you can get your MIL to a place that can help her get on the road to recovery and help her to make better choices for herself in the future. Maybe the FIL can be urged into counseling and join something along the lines of Al Anon to get help in understanding he is only hurting her by being an enabler.

Have any GTYs receive cabin assignments yet? I just tried logging on and keep getting a message that their system is down (I think I liked the fish better).

So who is dressing up on pirate night? We never have in the past but this week I ordered the entire family pirate costumes. And my husband WILL be wearing it!!!! Although I did see a t-shirt I almost got him that said "My pirate clothes are in the wash".

aarg - we be pirates.....

Still in the lifeboat, but I am at least able to retrieve my ressie every time. No fishies (at least not for long).

My dd is asking if we can dress up this time. Where did you get your costumes?

I actually made ours - DH has a pirate shirt and vest and he wears black sweats. I have a storebought top with a skirt I made to match his vest. We both have long saches with gold (:lmao: ) coins sewn on....Can't get DH to wear an earring but he wears a ring.

Hi Monica....welcome back....can't wait to see the pics.

The big news while you were gone is that we heard from Noel. She has family health issues to deal with and needed to cancel this cruise. She will be missed.

Thanks Deb - sad to know Noel is not coming, but very glad that we heard from her.
