Although ugly as heck, here's what Tyler insists I need for the cruise: http://www.buxtonbag.com/. He came home from his dad's a couple months ago and excitedly said something like, "MOM! MOM! You gotta see this purse I saw on my dad's tv! Nobody can steal it and it can hold bottles of water and EVERYTHING! And your phone is right on the strap so you can always find it!" We finally saw the commercial at our house and he jumped up and down telling me that's what he was telling me about.

Oh My GOSH!! Holly, this is so funny. When I was having all my purse drama, my eldest came in and said, Mommy I know what you need to get...you need the Buxton Bag I saw on TV! We were going to buy it for you for Christmas but Daddy said you already picked out your purse!! I saw the ad - it looks really neat!

I am SOOOO SORRY!!!! I thought when you sent me that e-mail that we had the all-clear to start communicating. Yikes! I'm sorry we blew the surprise. I feel terrible.

As I mentioned on PM - no worries. It was so cute how he started thinking....does this mean??? But he just doesn't know because we have not said for sure. He did ask today if the Easter bunny could bring us a Disney cruise! Lisa

OK, here's the rest of the story...

My cousin lives in No. Calif. (near Mendocino). Obviously she wouldn't be able to come to my House Party, but I invited her, and also her daughter (who also lives in No CA), so they would be able to enter the guest sweepstakes.

She, her daughter and granddaughter came on the last cruise I went on (June '06 Western). It was my 3rd cruise, their first. Of course we had a wonderful time and wanted to go again someday.

So she calls me today; I see her name on the caller ID and answer. The first thing she says is "Guess what???" At first I drew a complete blank, then it just hit me! I said, "You won the sweepstakes!" and she says, "YES!!!"

The most interesting thing about all of this is that when I was trying to decide who to invite, I'd considered asking her, her daughter and granddaughter. I went back and forth and ultimately decided to ask my sister and two friends from here. I felt a little guilty for not asking them. Well, I guess there was a reason I didn't ask her...

So she's going to go on the same cruise I am, which is Dec. 7. I don't think I posted what I finally decided to do. I chose Dec. so I could see the ship and CC decorated for Xmas. I have no idea what the weather will be like; hopefully OK.

Today we talked about going to FL early and doing WDW since neither of us have been, so I hope that works out.

Well, I think everyone knows I won the House Party host sweepstakes (one of two winners)--that was back in Jan.
my cousin is one of the four winners in the House Party guest sweepstakes!!!

OK, I think I need you to go buy me a lottery ticket!!! Congrats to your cousin! Did you ever get any more details on your cruise...when you could take it, etc?

I'm rather upset today. I don't usually bare my soul but ...

Got a huge shock this morning at work.

Someone I work with was found dead in her condo last night. I worked with her at another company. She was a really nice and smart lady. She didn't show up at work yesterday after the long weekend. They phoned and there was no answer. Work called the police who broke into the condo. She died sometime over the weekend. About 1/3 of my company all came from this other company and we all knew each other. I was just pissed off and angry all day.

It was just one of those days.

I am really happy!! I just booked Boardwalk for a few days in March to take Vanessa's sister to visit Disney while she is here. I have been watching the web site to see what is open and Boardwalk just opened up tonight. We are going for spring break...so it will be so crowded....but still fun.

I made reservations for meals at Le Cellier and Spoodles!!

Great news Lisa! Vanessa is one lucky girl...2 trips to WDW during her year here (didn't you go with her 1 other time?)! You will have a great time!

Now, I am not happy my phone was taken. I have suspended service, so whoever has it can't use it. It has a picture of my old cat, who died a couple of years ago...he was my favorite! So thats sad...and my whole address book..which sux...I don't have those numbers anywhere else!

The restaurant said they'll call if it turns up there, one can hope, but in the mean time, I'll be perusing the new phones to see whats out there...although we all know I've been waiting for an excuse to get the Iphone....

That is horrible. Hopefully it will turn up for you. I would be lost without mine...I no longer know phone numbers....I know that so&so is speed dial number x Guess that isn't the greatest thing.

Funny thing I told some friends this morning I met my online friends for a Dis meet. One asked how it went I said great we all like each other. She asked where we met and I told her to which she replied "oh of course the California moms would meet at the mall"

Popping in late tonight asking for some prayers and

My MIL has fallen off the wagon and we've found out that my FIL has been enabling her buy buying and bringing her booze.

We checked her in the hospital for detox tonight and will most likely get her in the morning and have her stay with us thru the weekend while we look to get her out of town to a rehab clinic.

She has done quite a few programs around here and not had sucess, but always comes home to the same issues with her husband, FIL.

She is at a very low point and during the past New Years holidays she had 2 attempts at suicide. This was not the first time for this all became very clear to us when this all came to light.

Hopefully we have gotten between MIL & FIL this time to get her to a place that she can recover and make better choices. I'm just at a loss. I just spent the last hour online looking and not knowing what and where to turn.

It's hard being the outside DIL the boys (Paul and his brother) aren't assertive with there father and clearly he is not making the situtation better for MIL.

Wish us luck and strenght in dealing with this over the next few days and weeks.

I'll be here as I can, as I know the support you guys offer is so sorely needed to get me thru.

Absolutely! But then the person I was filling in for suddenly came to work, so she took over her computer, leaving me computerless for the rest of the day. I was a floater, wandering around doing filing. Not a horrible job though!

Hey, what's going on here?? I went from work....to pick Tyler up from school....to karate....to drop him at his dad's....then to Mangos (my weekly Mexican restaurant hangout) with the girls, then I come home to find only about 6 pages waiting for me? What the heck happened? Where did everybody go?! Well.....I do see I have 5 PMs though, so I guess I'd better go see what those are about. Maybe SINGLE MEN from that thread I mentioned earlier!

I'm in shock. Recently in the mornings I have spent over an hour catching up on here from all the night chat, but today just a few pages, and I am up early too!

I just checked my Avis one way rental from MCO to the port and saved a whole $11, if you're booked you might look to see if your rate has gone down too.

Thanks for the tip - we however, are Budget...still, it would not hurt to check.

It really was. Her daughter was on her way in driving to Chicago. She was coming in so they could spend the rest of the week and weekend together.

I knew her for about 8 years. My boss and she worked together for about 23 years. There was no family in Chicago. My boss took on the role of having to figure out how to get a hold of her daughter who was on the road.

We are all really stunned by it. I'm not sure how old she was, but she wasn't that old. Certainly not more than 7 years older than me.

No one knows the cause of death. There was an autopsy today.

Gosh, makes you realize how fragile and short life is...

Time to hug my family... Well, cannot hug my Mother - but will call her...
