Got a huge shock this morning at work.

Someone I work with was found dead in her condo last night. I worked with her at another company. She was a really nice and smart lady. She didn't show up at work yesterday after the long weekend. They phoned and there was no answer. Work called the police who broke into the condo. She died sometime over the weekend. About 1/3 of my company all came from this other company and we all knew each other. I was just pissed off and angry all day.

It was just one of those days.

I grew up in Alexandria. "Remember the Titans"? That was my senior year at THAT school (my lowly claim to fame ). Okay, now I'm dating myself....

Mom still lives there so I get home often for visits.

For those of you at the port the night before it looks like we are going to be going to Fishlips instead of Grills. It's 1 or 2 down from Grills and with a group of around 30 they will take ressies. They have about the same food as Grills. I think we are looking to meet around 5:30 but not sure. Deb knows more than I do on the time. Closer to the date we can get an exact count.

I just ate at Fishlips on the 9th of this month (with Will & Mickey, watching the Magic sail out to sea ). I enjoyed it....lots of variety. I had the fish & chips

Oh my, that's awful! I'm so sorry!! How sad for her family!

It really was. Her daughter was on her way in driving to Chicago. She was coming in so they could spend the rest of the week and weekend together.

I knew her for about 8 years. My boss and she worked together for about 23 years. There was no family in Chicago. My boss took on the role of having to figure out how to get a hold of her daughter who was on the road.

We are all really stunned by it. I'm not sure how old she was, but she wasn't that old. Certainly not more than 7 years older than me.

No one knows the cause of death. There was an autopsy today.
