Couple things and then I REALLY need to finish packing.

My kids love pins, and that is a great idea about getting some on Ebay to trade. Will do that right away!

Another thing I just thought of that totally made me smile...I was thinking about all the DISers that won't be on board and will be tracking our cruise. I remember being so excited, watching the Magic go through the canal. I was on at all hours - and saw it live through the webcam. I remember thinking how excited I was and could only imagine what it was like to be on board....and now we will be!!!!

This is going to be so totally cool!!

I had the exact same thought Deb when I read Holly's post about the singles luncheon!!

As they say.....Great Minds and all, you know! Since Holly is willing to lend Tyler out, we can probably count on him to help us with our deliveries. YEAH! What fun for all of us!

Does anybodies kids do Refections though the school PTA. It is a contest with a theme. You can write a story, take a picture, compose a song, or draw...(plus other things) and Gretchen wrote and sang a song and recorded it.

She won 1st place at the school level and Fairfax County and then she got 1st place in the district. Now she is competing for States.....pretty cool!! There was a ceremony today and she was embarrassed. She usually loves to be in the spotlight.

I am tired of taking care of old grumpy people!! You would think that I have changed most of my entire life and the lives of my children and you would think someone would say Thank you and NOT COMPLAIN.

From one Ranter to another...

I took care of my grandfather for 8 years while he lived with us after my grandmother died. It was a very difficult time because I was in college and had had a bad car accident. BUT I can say... Both of us HATED the situation we were in...but we NEVER hated each other for it...

This is a fast moving board, hard to keep up with all the posts! But this is a good thing. The boys and I are still stuck in the life boat, but at least we have a few activities planned and can share with the other life boat crew (even if I can't get a spare vest for a pillow!). Has anyone ever gone to the single's lunches on board? Are they worth attending or just plain boring. This is the first time the boys and I are traveling without any of my sibs or my folks. Of course this means that this single dad will have at least 2 very late nights in one of the laundry rooms! (you can have room service send you cookies and milk/coffee to the laundry room to help ease the pain!) Do we want to identify the other single parents traveling and plan a special event for us for when we don't have the kids?

Ok, I am off to take the kids to special saturday enrichment class!

There are alot of us who are single or traveling single on this cruise. Join in on as much as you can... we're all in a great group!!!

I have made my SIL (my older brother's Andy's wife) PROMISE that as soon as I start to act like my mom, she will take me to the backyard and SHOOT ME!!!

My sister's older than me... she's likely to turn into my mother first... (I did get my niece to agree to dye my hair BEFORE they bury me...

Glad this worked for you! How long did it take? We are always interested in natural remedys that work.

First round I did was 2 over 2 days... I just did it once a day - most of the pain went away... had a little pain yesterday and did it again and it's now gone. So..it was pretty fast. I would definately try it. The Dr. had told me to drink lime juice but I think the straight lemon/oil worked MUCH better and quicker!!!

Vanessa is in Hawaii!! I have gotten several text messages from her.

She said most of the kids there are from NORWAY!! She is so happy.

A whole week without her....guess I better get used to life after Vanessa.....

holly, didn't you talk about taking Tyler on a sub for an excursion. Don't do that to yourself. I understand this situtation oh too well. Even Nemo at Dland was a talk myself thru situtation. Take care....

Yup, I managed before, I'll manage this time, but with the help of drugs. Last sub excursion was the highlight of his last cruise, so to see that joy again, it's worth it. If my Dr. won't prescribe something for me my friend has Xanax I can borrow.

I took Frank to the doctor yesterday....the cardiologist (sp?)

He is anemic (sp?) and they put him on Iron for that. He is carring way to much water in his limbs......they gave him 2 meds for that......but his heart is strong and his oxygen is good.

I counted this morning....he takes 9 pills in the morning and 3 at night.

The driving is now the issue....the Plastic Surgeon (the guy that tied his body back together) said he had to get permission from the cardiologist....the cardiolgist said the heart surgeon must approve the driving....the Heart Surgeon said the Plastic Surgeon had to make that call....

He can not use his left arm at all.....we have an appointment to see a Neurologist in 1 1/2 weeks...we have waited a month for this appointment.

Holly, I am beginning to know how you feel with all the different doctors.

Thats good hes doing better. Anemia isnt uncommon with post op open hearts. We always tell our patients when we discharge them to weigh themselves at the same time daily to watch the fluid. They probably gave him some diuretics, just watch his potassium. Banana for breakfast.....oh no,run bobby run LOL

Kind of cheesy to send one puny little valentine all the way to FL, but he had leftovers from his class, sent some to his cousins out of town, and told me he wanted to send one to Bethany too. He'd picked out the Tinkerbell ones to give to girls and POC to give boys. I asked him if he remembers that Tinkerbell is Bethany's favorite and he told me he does. He said, "Remember her bedroom mom?" He told me he thought it looked like a fairy tale castle.

So anyway, he just wanted to send a little love her way!
