Thanks - I can't catch up. Busy at work, and trying to wrap things up to fly out for the service.

DH and I had a long "discussion" and I usually win discussions (isn't that how it is suppose to work??) but this one sadly I didn't. He feels now strongly that leaving and spending the money for the cruise is not a good for us as a family. I totally am bummed, and am trying to deal with it. I will manage the fish teams as that will be so much fun, and I hope to see many pictures. But I am calling Disney to cancel. :sad1: I will miss meeting you all, although I'm certain many of us will meet on future cruises. I will still stay on the boards if you all don't mind and live my vacation through you guys!!! And you all be sure to have a DOD for me on May 16, the Panama Canal day!!
Lisa

Oh, LIsa! I am so sorry to hear this. But, we all have to make tough decisions and do what is best for our family. I would LOVE to have you stay and play with us on the board. :grouphug:

Thanks! Our daughters are from Jiangxi and Guizhou provinces. How wonderful that you were able to go with your sister. On both our trips to China, my husband's sister traveled with us as we took our other children along both times. She was great for practical help and moral support!

So many people have thought we were nuts for taking our children with us, but just like this cruise, how could we pass up the opportunity to give them that experience? They are all great travelers and great kids too!

The oldest was three when we took her along on the second trip for the one year old. At that age my sister felt it was very important for her to experience it all and to be there when her "sister" became part of the family.

It will be interesting to share notes from the trips.

As I was skimming through tonight I noticed some posts about whether the CC numbers were in the system. Do they show anywhere besides in your profile? Does DCL just know you are CC or do you have to do something special to make sure you can book tomorrow night? I am getting worried now!:confused3

I just checked my access ---

I could log into the Castaway Club section of the DCL homepage,

I also checked "your profile", my CC number showed there too. HTH

Everyone is getting me so curious about the crocs...I'm all about comfort but have never tried them:confused3 I love the cute jibbits you could put in them ...a mom invented those and made them to dress up her kids crocs and then other moms asked for her to make them for their kids and then she made it into a business then sold the business to crocs for lots of $....why can't I come up with something like that
.

We are croc converts here. DrHug thought they looked just ridiculous and said he would never wear them. I bought him a pair of cheap knock offs and he started wearing them around the house for slippers. He loved them and started wearing them to work. He stands up to 12 hours in the pharmacy with no breaks, no sitting down and his back and feet used to hurt him terribly after a couple of long days. I bought him a pair of croc a few months ago to replace the knock offs and I don't think he will ever wear anything else! He does still wear dress shoes with his suit, of course, but other than that he is in his crocs. He is pretty conservative though and only does black! :lmao:

I hope you decide to go! We need all the cali people! BUT, I totally understand.

Hi guys!
My other issue is that I'm not sure how we're getting from the cruise to our airports. Half of us are flying out of Burbank and the other half are going out of Long Beach, but DCL is only providing transfers to LAX, so we had to cancel our DCL transfers and now we're in need of some kind of party bus or something to transport all of us plus luggage. OOOPH. My relaxing vacation is certainly causing me a lot of stress before we've gotten onboard. I'm going to need extra DoDs!!!!

Call one of the super shuttles. I bet you can get a deal to do both airports.
Evening all,

I've been reading most of the postings about people getting ready for the big day on Sunday when those of us that can book at 90 days get our turn to do so.

I have also read more than a few comments from people who have already had the good fortune to book early, saying that they would try and snag those excursions, reservations at palos etc they were unable to get, when they open up at 90 days.:rolleyes1

I am hoping that fair play will rule the day here, and we can all have an equal chance of getting what we have been planning for since last January:thumbsup2

(looking forward to a long night/morning here in Ottawa on dial-up):surfweb:

Of course we will. OUR group is awesome. We're a friendly fairplay bunch!:thumbsup2

Who would I contact to obtain info on the Aruba jeep excursion? I know it is wait listed but I was hoping to obtain info and possibly get on the waiting list.

The disney one or the group one? Group, pm lillygator.

I'm also have the problem about getting our luggage from the resort to the port. We're staying at Pop Century the night before the cruise, but of course the cruise bus doesn't stop at any of the value resorts- DOH! What a gimmick! DH is going to call and see if our luggage can all get shipped to one of the non-value resorts instead of to our own, since we won't really need the luggage for the few hours we're at the resort anyway. It will be hard enough getting my whole group (plus carry on bags) moved from Pop to the cruise bus stop.

Don't know about the multiple cabins and booking tomorrow, but....

Take the Magical Express back to the airport Saturday morning and catch one of the early DCL buses to the port from the airport. :thumbsup2

In California take Super Shuttle from the port to whatever airport you need to go to. They will take you from anywhere to anywhere in that area. :thumbsup2 It's ALL good!!

Go to the online check-in section - mine has the forms grayed out and says available 2/10/08. If the date is different then the CC number has not been applied (I saw this on the main board a couple of days ago as a way to check).

I think that is a great idea to bring something from where you are from. That is why I am bringing Jelly Bellys since I live where they are made. The note sounds like a great idea and really a nice way to show how you notice all the little extras they do for you.

They probably would not appreciate a bucket of slugs from Oregon. :sad2:

Lisa, great method for knowing when your booking opens/CC status!

Do more people like milk chocolate than dark chocolate? And would that be true for people from outside the US?

I prefer dark but Darrell prefers milk. And I was assuming dark from See's for gifts. But maybe not - do they have mixed assortments?

Dark and Dark for DrHug and I.

I just pulled a Lisa! Fell asleep and my computer almost slid off my lap! :scared1: Will catch up tomorrow. Only about 4 more pages. Goodnight!

Yup, Tyler had a pair last year. Not they Mickey ones because they didn't have them at the time, just the camo croclings. I loved them because the top part is sort of a nylon fabric and seemed very soft, but when he wore out the toes (they ripped right open) he asked if his next ones can be the traditional style because he wants to be able to flip the heel strap wherever he wants. So he's getting the Spiderman crocs before the cruise.

and this said 2/10/08!!!! Guess I am set. Thanks for all the help! Really out of here now, 5am is going to come really early for this 7am riser! The conference is an hour drive each way :sad2: !

I'd say POFQ, it is small so easy to get around and the girls will like the pool. POR is good if you get lucky on the building. I was not impressed with CS, you could end up a 15-20 minute walk from the food court.

What if you bagged the DCL transfer and got a towncar or some other of your own transportation? You could stay wherever you wanted.

Looks like we are leaning towards POFQ. My aunt wants to get a flavour of New Orleans, so this looks to be the ticket. The boat ride to DTD might be nice after sitting on the plane on all day too.

We had thought about ditching the DCL transfer and renting a car but I found it was just so much easier using them last time, plus the girls really like taking the Disney bus with the Disney video on it. There is something about putting on our bags on the plane in Vancouver and not having to see them until we get to our hotel room, and then having someone pick them up to take to the cruise ship right from our hotel room and once again not worrying about them until we get off the ship.

Are there any negatives to staying at POFQ? What about bus ride times to the parks? Line ups to get on a bus? I noted there is only 1 bus stop at POFQ, does the bus service there as well as POR or does each "Port Orleans" resort get it's own bus "system"?

good plan. I have to admit I'm terrible at budgeting for on board expenses. I bring my credit card and deal with it at check out. Terrible I know. Perhaps I will look into prepaying tips that would make that last check out bill not as big.

Yep, that's us too! We look at the bill last night and say :scared1: we spent THAT much??

That's Paul's favorite too, but I've never heard of the flavored ones. Where did you first get them?

A friend used to work for Princess Cruise lines. So he was training on a new ship and traveled to Japan. He sent over boxes of candy and I fell hard for the kit kats. Over there you can get them in pretty much any flavor you can imagine. Maple Syrup was another good one. My friend said the best thing about Japan was the candy and the heated toilets!

Hi all...and a Happy Friday!

Went out to dinner tonight to Il Fornaio. Yum. I forgot I had $80 GC to the place. I went out with my friend who is waiting to find out her medical issue and another coworker. We are cocktail buddies. It was a good time. We didn't talk about her possible sickness, just had a great dinner, good conversation and generally lots of fun! I am glad we went. Tomorrow, I'm off to petaluma to see if I can find a formal dress at the outlets. Keep our fingers crossed!

So glad to see holly is PIF and hope Lisa becomes PIF tomorrow! Also, sorry to hear about Lisas Grandma. I'm glad to read that she was 98 and active up until her hip problem. I have a 90 yo grandma and she's says shes as young as she feels, which is about 30 now. She jokes she's over the teenage years!

Anyone watch Lipstick Jungle last night? I kinda liked it, but I am also a big sex in the city fan. Both created by the same person.

Steph
