I was TOOOOOO tired to finish watching Lost last night (from last week), so I'm headed off now to watch while I eat my sub from Subway for dinner! :goodvibes Back later!

Mary - prayers and hugs to you and your family.

Question because my head is spinning:

On the West Coast, when doest the sysem open for reservations? We are CC members.

Monica, Well done on the 11.5 :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay: I'm jumpin up and down with you.
On the CPAP I think you will find it to be great. I hope you do anyway. I have no problems with mine. It does take some time to get use to, but once you experience a deep restful sleep again, and dreams, you will be glad to have it. I go back to see my Neurologist on the 14th for the follow up to my 2nd study. I hope he does not take me off my cpap.

Thanks so much Venetia! I especially love the fact that we're jumping together :goodvibes

A friend of mine is losing her battle with cancer. She has been in NIH studies (one of the benefits to living here is DC) and was told 4 years ago she had 3-6 months to live. The treatment she has been having has just now started to fail and they have found cancer in her brian, liver and several other spots.

She wrote this long e-mail to explain what she has been though in the last 4 weeks and this one paragraph just killed me and I started to cry. I wanted to share it with you.

When I asked them for a long-term prognosis, I was given the 3-6 month speech. Although we kind of expected that, it is always a blow to hear it, as you can well imagine! Although I am so very confident about where I am going after death, going thru the process will be difficult and saying good bye the hardest thing I can think of. I have asked God to keep me strong and focused on Him and so many of you are helping me do just that. Thank you so much for your calls, cards and emails.

My day started off bad. Got some bad news about a good friend of mine. She is about 2 years out of breast cancer and they found a spot on her lung. So I dropped my daughter off at school and told my boss I had to go and drove away. He always looks at me funny when I do that...thank god they're flexible. So please send your thoughts and prayers my way for my friend. She is weighing very heavy on my mind and I can't really talk to anyone here as she doesn't want people to know yet. Tomorrow she goes in for a complete CT of her lung. They were actually checking her abdomen last time and happened to see the lung. Hopefully she'll get the results by friday. Anyhow, I just want it to be something other than metastatic (did i spell that right?) breast cancer. Sorry to be debbie downer, but I had to get it off my chest.

S

We are praying here too, I will also put her in the intentions book at our church....

Monica

We'll understand if you fall asleep at breakfast! :rotfl2:

And congrats on the weight loss. :thumbsup2

No need to worry about that....I don't seem to fall asleep (or want to) at meal times :rotfl: (I can always then go home and take a nap):rotfl2:

Oh Lisa, my heart goes out to her...and her friends (including you) and family. I pray God does indeed continue to give her the strength she needs through her final struggle. How heartbreaking for her and everybody who knows & loves her. :sad1:

V...how short??? Keep those girls healthy...get them some Immune Fizz or Airborne!!!!

Today is so blah here....the weather here this winter had been HORRIBLE (do you agree Angie and Dennis?) We haven't seen the sun in weeks, every day it is windy with rain, freezing rain and snow. They can't keep the passes open due to all the snow falling there. The ski resorts are having to close due to avalanches, the lists go on.:headache: So...I'm moving to Florida!!!! Ok, not really but it is my current dream:cloud9: .

Ok - you had me going there!

I know, but couldn't book until I knew for sure about the cruise. :thumbsup2 Hmmm....just not seeing nonstop to MCO from LAN, but will check from Kalamazoo because that's where my mom lives and we could park our car at her house to avoid airport parking. :goodvibes Off to check that option now.

Holly - are you flying in Friday or Saturday?

Holly - can you fly in/out of Flint? Airtran has a nonstop Saturday am (7a-935a)....you could then get on an early bus to the ship.

I'm booked on a 125p AA flight out of LAX. (Sunday)

We opted to turn in mileage for free tickets, but of course that limits our choices of flights!

We don't arrive at MCO unitl 11:15p (No P&P party for us I'm afraid). But at least we're staying at the Hyatt so can crawl off the plane and into bed.

Then we fly home from LAX but can't get a flight until 4:30p. So, our goal is to be the LAST FAMILY OFF OF THAT BOAT!

I think it is 2 a.m. Eastern time, so that would make me midnight in the mountain time zone, and for you 11 p.m. You won't even have to get out of bed in the middle of the night to do it!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Saturday.

Thanks! I like that time the best! Yes, Flint is a tiny bit closer than Detroit and is smaller, so it's easier to fly out of. I'll check out that flight. Sounds good! :thumbsup2

Monica: I say it is a dream, but I have been in discussion with a few docs out there to come out for a part time practice in Fl. My mom has dear friends who live in Sarasota and have told me I could stay with them. Unfortunately, the negotiations have taken a stall, so I think it won't happen, but I am still dreaming and keeping my fingers crossed that it will work out!

Speaking of the men's surgery - When my dd was in kindergarden we had a puppy that we had neutered. We told dd that we didn't want any puppies. A few weeks later my dh had the surgery. My dd asked why her dd couldn't walk and he told her the truth that we were not going to have anymore children. My dd went to school and told everyone that her dad had been neutered. He was so embrassed.

Prayers needed:

I know many people have heard about the tornadoes that hit Tennessee. I live in Jackson - which is where the college (Union University) is that got destroyed.

I belong to one of the local Family and Community Education Clubs (also known as a homemakers club) and we just got word this morning that two members lost their homes in the tornado as well as one of the extension agents in the office that overseas our clubs and 4-H. Also a friend of mine had 3 employees loose their homes in the tornado.

This is the 3rd major hit with deaths that we have had in the past 9 years (Jan 1999, May 2003, Feb 2008) and we are still rebuilding from the 2003 hit in some areas and now this. Please just keep our town (and other towns affected) in your prayers.

Thank You.

Hello, it has been big on the news here in Australia too - lots of  and prayers to all
