Well I sent off an email to
DCL about the problems accessing reservations and the worry about Sat night. They came back quickly but had just thought I was a numpty and explained how to access my reservation(hello, I've been going on every day to check my lifeboat status!!

)
So I replied again and soon received a more helpful reply - I think. Give them credit they acted quickly.
Here is a copy. I need a man!!

just did a quick check and was able to successfully retrieve
***date of birth **** on our website.
Sometimes when there is "old history" on a computer, it will affect
future access to our website. We have discovered that the system has
optimum performance when your security settings are no higher than
medium.
To check and/or change your security settings:
-Click on Tools from your Internet Browser window
-Select Internet Options
-Next click on the Security tab
-Click on the globe icon, which represents the Internet settings
When you look at the information, this zone's security level should be
set no higher than medium. Please verify and click OK.
If you do not see the settings, click on the Custom Level button and
then select Medium in the Reset Custom settings box.
Also, for good measure, your cookies should be enabled. The website uses
cookies to remember and process your registration profile, making
reservations and while reserving activities online.
To check and/or change your cookies:
-Click on Tools from your Internet Browser window
-Select Internet Options
-Click on the Privacy Tab
-Click on the Advanced button
From this window, place a checkmark in the Override Automatic Cookies
Handling and make sure the 'Accept' radio button under the Accept
First-Party Cookies, is selected.
Once these changes have been made it is also important to clear your
Internet History and to delete existing cookies, so that these changes
can be cleanly implemented.
To clear your Internet history:
-Click on Tools from your Internet Browser window
-Select Internet Options
-Click on the General tab
-Click Delete Cookies
-Click Clear History
Now your temporary internet files and cookies are cleared.
